Governor Sets Safety Week In an effort to bring farm death rates to tine attention of the people of the state, and to awaken them to the need for greater safety measures on the farms of Utah, Governor J. Brack en Lee of Utah has issued a Farm Safety Week proclamation, as follows: "During the year of 1955, sev enteen lives were lost in Utah as result of farm accidents and over $1,000,000 property damage was experienced. "Because farms of the State almost have become entirely mechanized, the .hazard of accid and ents has been increased great er safety precautions have become necessary. "The President of the United States has declared the week beginning July 22, 1958, as National Farm Safety Week. Accordingly I also am designating the week of July 22 to 28, 1956, as UTAH FARM SAFETY WEEK and I request all persons and organizations interested in the welfare of farm people to join in the observance of this week for the purpose of eliminating, as far as possible, all accidents on the farm and in work associated therewith. "I also urge all farm families and those who work on farms to use extra precautions to the end that recognition of hazards and prevention of accidents will be adopted as a permanent part of everyday farm operation.
