Both of these activities are highly commendable. They are based on a long-feneed for more safety education through our schools, through the press, and through the actual presence of a safety program. lt Without reference to any particular project or group, we and and in Nephi are prone to get things off to an enthusiastic flying start, secure considerable publicity for our projects, then let them die slow death through lack of interest upon the part of our leaders. Safety programs covering every phase from safety on the home and industry, to traffic safety on the highway and at school crossings, have been outlined for the entire year of 949, and with the aid of materials released by the National Safety council, and the Utah State Safety council, there will be an abundance of background material which the local groups busy. Terrence Vest West 5th North Nephi, Utah SEASON Christmas is a wonderful season of the year. It's the time when we pause to remember that no matter how great are our sufferings, they can not compare with those of He whose birthday we observe on December 25th. Christmas is the time of the year when we pause to remember our friends and relatives, whether it be with a friendly gift or colorful card, or whether it be just a cheery "Merry Christmas" and a warm handclasp as we meet them on the street. At this Christmas season we want to say that we appreciate our friends . . the old friends who have been faithful and true friends throughout the years . . . and the new ones who have established Nephi as their community during the past year . . . and those whose business connections have brought them to our community from time to time. We appreciate their friendship, and sincerely hope that we may be worthy of those friendships in the future. Neohi. Utah Dec. 10, 1948 Dear Santa: I have been a good girl.
