L PETTY Agent irin II fi 1 CALIFORNIA BRAND I1 the vast amount of labor and I per- sistence required to complete this record. All of this has been willingly, cheerfully and freely given by Miss Hiatt in the hope that the completed record will aid thou- sands pf people, both living and dead, whose records are therein contained., Obviously, such an achievement has only been made possible through the kind cooperation of others. Special acknowledgement is due to the mayor of Nephi who made records available; also to President Albert H. Belliston of Juab Stake; William Clayson of Payson, Utah, the Ostler family Mrs. Ann Mary organization, Weeks Ostler, the Nephi City Recorder, Albert Starr and Miss Riches, the public librarian. We are greatly impressed, in examining this record and studying its wealth of genealogical data, with the though that such a project could be undertaken in a great many of the wards throughout the Church. Trained and willing genealogists are available in almost every center, who, with proper official permission, could transcribe ward, quorum, cemetery and family records and compile for each community a marvelous record of the families who formerly resided, or now reside there. With the lapse of one or more generations this record would become of priceless value to those who would frequently require to refer to its pages. We urge our genealogical workers to follow the shining example set by Sister Hiatt and utilize the opportunities now before them of helping to pre serve in most acceptable form the valuable records so necessary for Paqe Five SOUTH WARD AMUSE.
