WILLIAM GARRETT 1 MI FAMILY HOLDS UAL One Hundred and Sixty Seven Descendants Assemble For Banquet Relatives Enjoy Program The fifth annual reunion of the William Garrett family organization was held in the North Ward Amusement hall, September 2nd, At 6;30 p. m. a banquet waa served to one n descendhundred and ants. At 7:30 the descendants together with a number of friends an excellent program, after which the balance of the evening was spent in dancing, with two hundred and forty people participating. Members of the family from Bountiful, Salt Lake City, Provo and Eureka were in attendance. The following program was rendered: Song, "Love at Home;" Prayer by Ted Hep worth of Bountiful; Address of welcome, Geo. W. Garrett of Nephi; Duet, Ida Hepworta and Emma Garrett. Bountiful; Reading, Alice Rielly, Bountiful; A sketch of the life of the late Wm. Garrett was read by Mary E. Boswell; Dialogue. Afton and Bernice Garrett, Nephi; Remarks by Bishop A. E. Smith; Solo. M. returned Claridge home last Friday after enjoying a seven weeks vacation in Twin Bridges, Montana, where she visited 'with relatives and friends. 'She reports having enjoyed her visit to her old home town, and that she also visited in other parts of Montana while away. Dean Hoyt Returns After Year's Absence PROVO. Professor H. V. Hoyt, dean of college of commerce Brig-haYoung university, has returned after a year's absence in California, where he has been studying in the Stanford graduate school of business administration. Though Dean Hoyt is familiar with the work of a number of business schools in the east, including Harvard, where he received his master's degree in 1917, he considers Stanford the peer of any of them. He was pleased to find three of his old HarHis vard professors at Stanford work has been largely alonj the line of business statistics and he is writing a dissertation on chain store management. California is an attractive and Interesting state, according to Professor Hoyt, but he very much prefers Utah. At the present time the coast state is dry,' climatically, and has a withered appearance, Professor Hoyt m said. Joel Taylor Is Attending National Tax Convention Joel Taylor, Juab County's able and efficient assesor, left Wednesday for Saranac Lake, New York, where he will attend the National Tax association conference which" will be held September 9th and 10th. Mr. Taylor was selected by the state of equalisation, board and The s considers the selection of Mr. Taylor as a real honor, as only four assessors of the state were selected, and Juab County can be proud of the fact that it has an assessor who rates up with the best In the state. During the past years Mr. Taylor has been cited several times for his efficient handling of the assessing of property In Juab County, and his fairness and efficient way of hand ling this division of the county gov ernment. Times-New- Ostler and Allen Now In Their Remodeled Building Ostler and Allen, Nephi's pioneer harness dealers reopened Wednesday in their remodeled building, and in additional to the harness business, they have, installed a line of hardware. They now have a good line of hardware, and radios and expect to increase their business by the addi tion of these new lines. The place la very neat and attractive. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Russell of Salt Lake City enjoyed a visit In Nephi Sunday and Monday with relatives and friends. 4-- H Club Girls Have The exhibit of work done by the Club girls during the Nephi present summer was shown Friday afternoon at the High School build-InA large number of ladies of this city viuited the exhibit and were loud in their praise of the class or work done by the club. Beautiful drowses, aprons, and many articles of ladies wearing aparel were shown, all of which reflected careful and painstaking work on the part of each pupil. No better use of Insure time can ba found than that which occupied the attention of these club girls during the summer vacation. The Home Management Club, was under the direction of Miss Tbelma Ockey, while the Sewing Club, was under the supervision of Miss Foote, assisted by Nelda Mildred Belliston, Bean, Ruth Haynes, Lorna Kendall, and Nina Chappell.
