Several hundred pencil sketches, colored plans and blueprints of homes and public ground projects have been provided, and the extension service specialist has made regular visits to help lay out the grounds and supervise the planting of shrubs, lawns and trees. In each community a central committee, consisting of three members from each organized group within the community, is formed. This committee, which may contain almost any number of members, is given the cooperation of the extension service spcialist, who advises, supervises and itherwise aids in the various projects. In every community a five- year agreement is effected between the extension service and the central committee in the community. The demonstration homes serve as samples of what can be done through persistent effort, and in organizing and supervising improvement projects the extension service has rendered assistance to many communities and individuals.
