BOOTH HEADS CENTRAL UTAH LEAGUE COUNTY FAIR GROUNDS t 16. AUTO ACCIDENT DISCUSSED AT EUREKA PROVES FATAL The County Commissioners held their regular meeting in this city last Saturday. Present were W. G. Orme. John Bunnell and Dr. Steele Bailey, Jr. A committee from the Juab County Fair association met with the commissioners relative to the purchasing of a twenty acre tract of land to be used for a county fair grounds. The d commissioners are very mucn in the movement, but took the matter under advisement, to be re ported on at a later date. Tuesday evening a group of rep resentative farmers and businessmen from Nephi met with the Kiwanis club of Eureka, to discuss the fair grounds with the Tintic people. Talks were given by June Kendall, w. t. Andrews, A. H. Belllston and Harry Beagley. The matter was thoroughly discussed by the Eureka business men, but the club did not take any definite stand on the matter as yet, although it is the opinion of the Nenhl men .that made the trip to Eureka, that the Tintic people will back the county fair board in their effort to buy the fair grounds. Booth of Spanish Fork, former state commander of the American Legion was unanimously elect ed president of the Central Utah Baseball league at a meeting of the board of directors of the league, held in Provo last Friday evening. Mr. Booth succeeds J. L. Hiatt of Heber, who was forced to resign because of business affairs. In the se lection of Mr. Booth as head of the league, baseball fans of this territory feel that a very wise choice was made as he has always been active in the development; of the sport.
