This is a cut of 4 mills from that of last year when the tax was 12 mills. The levy is divided as follows: 3 mills for interest and sinking funds, 4 mills for contingent expenses, and 1 mill for library purposes. The city is now in good shape financially and has sufficient funds on hand to pay current expenses until this years tax money comes in.
