The score was 5 to 2 in favor of the visitors, and the game, considering the condition of the grounds due to a heavy rain only a short time before starting, was a good exhibition of the National 6port. As indicated by the score there was no bat ting rampages and the Heberites had to work for every point scored. The locals played good consistent ball. and Leland Bellistn twirled a good game, and excepting a few errors received good support. President Hiatt of the league, pitched the first ball, while Mayor Bailey done duty behind the bat. President A. H. Here were found dead hogs and cattle galore, with a stench that was almost unbearable. Some attempt had been made to cremate a few of the carcasses but with only poor results. Flies were very much in evidence even this early in the season, and Dr. Beckstead stated, that lime placed on some of the dead animals had been carried by flies on their feet and these flies had been traced by this method to homes in the East part of the city. in the There was no question minds of tho Kiwanis members who made this trip of inspection that the present condition at the garbage grounds furnishes the most excellent breeding places for files possible, and these same flies migrate into this city in swarms. With the coming of warm weather this condition will be intensified, and early action should be taken to provide a remedy. The garbage ground is no place to dump dead animals.
