McCune, well City Cemetery. A special train carrying the mortal remains arrived in this city about 4 p. m. On the same train the immed iate family and upwards of a hundred sorrowing relatives and friends ac--1 companied the body to its last resting place. A large number of the people I of this city Joined the funeral cort-lon- e ege at the station and followed to the cemetery, there being 80 cars in the funeral procession. At the grave Mrs. Ed. Carter, and L. P. Anderson, - accompanied by Miss Mercl Goldsbrough, rendered the sacred solo, "Jesus My Savior." John E. Lunt, of the Stake Presid ency, dedicated the grave. The floral offerings were most beautifui and profuse, requiring a large truck to convey them from the station to the grave. Mrs. McCune was a most active Church worker from childhood. She was born February 19th, 1852, in Helmstead, England. She emigrated with her parents from England the year of her birth and the family set tled in Nephi, where the greater part of her young life was spenC. In 1872 she became the wife of A. V. Mc Cune, by whom she is survived, together with five children, and seven. '.. teen grandchildren. At the time of her death she was a member of the general., board . of the Voar.e' Ladie Mutual. - IniDrova- ment Association and the Relief She was also a worker in Society. the Genealogical Society. Two gifts to the church mark Mrs. McCune's most strikink benevolent activities. In 1896 she turned her beautiful temporary home in Eastbourne, England, into headquarters for those engaged in missionary work in Great Britiain. More recently in 1920, the McCune mansion on North Main street was given to the church and became the L. D. S. School of Music. On July 1st, 1922, Mr. and Mrs McCune celebrated their golden wedding anniversary. At that time a number of their Nephi friends atten ded the celebration. The tax burden of the people of Juab County were lightened to the extent of 2 mills at the meeting of the Board of County Commissioners held Monday in this city. One and one half mills was taken off the gen- could be possible some reduction made that would lighten the tax burdens of the people. He said that nothing but a spirit of helpfulness prompted the committee to meet with them that day. At the conclusion of Mr. Paxman's talk, the Board members expressed themselves as being in harmony with the ideas set forth by the tax com mittee and would do all in their power to reduce the expenses of the county government to a minimum. After the committee adjourned, the board then took up the matter cf the tax levy for this year with the re sult that one and a half mills was chopped off from the levy of last year The budget of expense presented by Juab School, which showed-that 7.5 mills under the present valuation of the district would bring the re quired amount of money asked for by the school district. This levy was then made, which is a reduction of half aui4ll from that of last year. TihTi School Disrict levy was fixed at eleven mills, it requiring this a mount of levy to bring the amount of money awked for. The county levy was fixed at 5.8 1.8 mills, apportioned as follows: mils for general county purposes; Vi mill for county road purposes; mill for dependent poor; 1 mill for State Roads in Juab County; 1 mill for' interest on road bonds; 1 mill for: sinking funds for road bonds. ' For the State Bounty Fund the apportionment follows; 1.5 mills for shejftfand goats;. 1 mill for domestic cattle 1 mill for range horses and cattle; and 3 mills for all domestic cattle. Levies of towns and cities in Juab County are as follows: Levan Town, 15mills; Nephi City. 12 mills; Eureka City. 8.5 mills; Mona Town 12 mills; Mammoth City, 15 mills. Theo.. C. The affair took place on the scout grounds near the ranger stat ion and over 250 people were served of refreshments which consisted bacon and eggs, cheese, pickles, sandwiches, ice cream and cantaloupes. With a large army camp kicb-en- , a group of willing; workers and waiters, cooked the bacon and egga to a queen's taste, and a large crowd Were fed in real caferteria style with very little confusion. After the lunch a large bonfire was built and a number of games were played, including a ladies toot-ba- ll game in which a number of married ladies shone forth as real football stars. Supt. T. H.
