Anything that will help save hu man life is worthy the support of any organization, city, county, or state; and money spent in this connection cannot be measured in terms of dollars and cents. We cannot entirely govern sickness or accident, but we can place within the reach of our citizens and neighboring communities means of relief by materially cutting down hospital fees, railroad transportation, hotel bills, and in some cases save the life and add to the comfort of a patient by avoiding long trips. It is my opinion that a hospital should be provided so that these conditions may be fulfilled. We may have good roads, fine buildings and great wealth, but when physical troubles come we would give all these for relief and prolongation of life. In my opinion our time and money cannot be spent to better advantage than looking to the relief of suffering and the prolongation ot life. To this end the Commercial Club will work unitedly for a hospital Dr. N. J. Rees , Something should be done In a concrete way with a view of estab- lising a hospital in Nephl. In the past much has been said relative to such an Important question but as yet, little has been accomplished in a tangible way for the protection of those unfortunate enough to require hospital attention, without leaving home under a heavy expense in order that their needs may be taken care of. The past few months have brought quite forcibly to my mind the need of adequate surgical equipment, so that patients can call the surgeon to them rather than being forced to leave home with a number of family associates or friends who are not only neglecting their business at home, but are under a heavy transportation and hotel accomodation expense. It is also a very hazardous risk to move some cases. Should such accomodations be afforded the people of Juab County, it would be a simple matter to get the surgeon of their choice at home or adjoining cities in a very short notice. It is very commendable on the part of Juab County, for the big things it has accomplished in the past few years in the building ot roads, public buildings, and various other undertakings, but may I ask, what has been done to safe guard the health and individual health expense of its people that have so responded with their means to help any worth while civic imT'is true, we have our provements. infirmary and county health officers that are using every effort possible to better the health conditions In this county but this does not meet the growing needs of a well equipped hospital.
