Show A Hotaie Paper f For Home People I The Times, Vol. 14, I Nephi, Juab County. Utah Friday, August 10th, 1923. No. 23. That the officials of the Lincoln Highway Association are very favorable impressed with the Arrowhead Trail from Salt Lake City south via Provo, Nephi and Beaver City Is a x foregone conclusion, and if all signs I Jo not fail It will not be any great length of time until the Arrowhead Trail will be designated as a very Important feeder for this great transcontinental highway, and in time it will be no great surprise if it does not become the main highway from Salt Lake to Ely, Nevada, of the Lincoln Association. Monday at the Kiwanis Club luncheon, Gail Hoag, Field Secretary of the Lincoln Highway Association was present, having just returned from a trip over the Arrowhead Trail. Mr. Hoag told the members that there was every probability that this route would be used as a feeder for the Lincoln Highway, and the officials of his association were seeking the co operation of the people along this route in helping to solve the road pro blems of this section of Utah. Mr. Hoag was accompanied on his trip by F. D. B. Gay, the Deseret News Pathfinder, and E. S. Hinckely, Secretary of the Provo Chamber of Commerce. With paved and graveled roads between Salt Lake and Beaver City, passing through" the very heart of much of the agricultural section of Utah. With the wonderful scenery of the famed Waastch Mountains the entire distance, passing through prosperous cities and towns, with every accomodation for the comfort of man, and then a splendid road which is open all the year around directly west from Beaver to Ely, Nevada, where it would again join the Lincoln Highway, it does not seem possible that these desert roads west from, Salt Lake would be able to bold out much longer against the weight of public opinion which favors the route over the Arrowhead Trail from Salt Lake City to Ely, Nevada. over-whelmi- Joseph Kendall of Provo is visiting his parents Mr. and Mrs. Edward Kendall this week. MINER RECIPIENT OF TESTIMONIAL STOCKMEN WANT MORE GRAZING PRIVELEGES Stockmen of Nephi and vicinity want the privelege of grazing a great er number of cattle on the local for est reserve in the neighborhood of ML Nebo. According to several well known stockmen there should be at least 500 more head of stock allowed on this reserve which with proper dis tribution would not injure the range whatever. They point out that the industry here is being greatly curtailed owing to the restricted grazing, and it is said that a strong effort will be made this fall to have the number of stock on the local reserve increased at least several hundred head. If the complaint of the stockmen is true, steps should certainly be taken by the forest officials to remedy the situation. The sheep and cattle business of this city is one of it's chief assets and the most liberal consistent with safety to the range should be allowed. If there is ample room for more stock on the local range they should by all means be allowed there.
