Show THIS The Times-New- s NEPHI NEWS Account DENNIS WOOD A.. B. GIBSON t... ly, The newspapers have recently been filled with 'numberless accounts ol stock swindling operations. The old saying that a sucker is born every minute seems to be more than borne out. The average man knows nothing a bout investments and too often seems adverse to securing advice. If the uninformed citizen before giving up his hard earned money for a scheme about which he knows real ly nothing would consult some bond house or his banker and learn the actual facts in tne case, the fake stock seller would soon disappear. e .1;, In fritt tliey a visitor to this city last Monday remarked on the beauty of location of Nephi, and the many nice front yards he" had seen during his stay here, and what a wonderful opportunity we had here situated as we are on one of the main highways to Southern California. This favorable comment sounded mighty good tp us but there is another side to the story. The visitor quite freely pointed out that there were a number of very unsightly fences that with very little work could be greatly improved and would add very much to the general appearance of the city. He also stated that weeds and rubbish should not be allowed to accumulate along the main street through the city, as the visitor passing through here almost without exception, gains ail impression of the town by the appearance of the main highway along which he passes. The chief point in this argument for us to consider is the fact that tourists from every state in the union are coming here in larger numbers each year. If Utah is going to get the full benefit of this annual pilgrimage to the West on the part people, each town along the main arteries of travel must endea vor to make their home town attrac tive to the visitor, in order that the tourist from the east will be glad to prolong his stay In Utah, and who will in turn do some favorahlo boosting about us when he arrives home. With the great amount of publicity that scenic Utah is now receiving the tourist business in a few years bids fair to be one- of the biggest assets we will have. In other word our summer climate and attraction will be to us. what the California winter climate has been to that state in the matter or revenue.
