We are also of the opinion that the Forest Service would help In this matter as it is a forest road and with in the confines of the Uinta Forest. The City and County probably would lend assistance, as the City has ground set apart there for a camping ground. According to an Item In the last issue of the Dearborn Independent better known as Ford's Weekly, it Is easily understood why the Income tax have returns of the Government shown a marked decrease this year. Referring to the inventory of the late Jacob H. Schlff, of the banking firm of Kuhn, Loeb and Company of New York, which has just been made public, It was found that over two thirds of the Schlff millions were in vested in tax exempt securities.. The income of Mr. Schiff for 1920 It this income was $1,025,320.00. had been fully taxed the government would have received from this income the sum of $631,833.00, but the in vestment in tax exempt securities reduced the tax to $156,360. "The magnitude of the loss to the from government should be a sound warning: It should bs theduty of the government to make such simple tax laws that the person of small income shall be amply pro tected, rather than to enact measur es filled with exemptions and provi sos, designated to tempt the cupidity of tax dodgers who are wealthy enough to hire great staffs of lawyers and experts to take advantages which the man of small income must miss."
