Payson City and back to Nephi. President N. J. Rees who presided informed the members present that the matter had already been taken up with the forest service with a view of getting help from this source, and also permission to construct the road through this part of the reserve. Another matter of importance taken up at the meeting, was the effort being made to Becure part of the government appropriation for foret roads. It was felt among the members that in view of the amount of travel to the ranger station during fie summer a good sized appropriation ought to come to tais section for the improvement of the auto road from theforks of Nephi canyon to the ranger station. It was stated by President N. J. Rees, that a committee consisting of Geo D. Haymond and G. R. Judd had met with the forest service officials in Provo that day in relation to obtaining some of this money and their report would be given the club at an early date. The question of base ball for this season was then discussed at some length, but on account of the state highway being torn up this summer for paving it was deemed Inexpedient to attempt to enter the Central Utah league this season on account of the great difficulty that would be encountered in travel from this city to Utah county. At the close of the discussion a committee of five wag appointed to ascertain what could be done in organizing a club to play independent base ball. The house and social committee reported that a banquet and social was being arranged for an early date IMtlING ff f J s'- 5H-- v - A W M. I. A.
