"In my opinion," Dr. Beatty said, "physicians of the state have not taken advantage as they might of the opportunity afforded to determine the types of pneumonia." The state bacteriology laboratory at the University is also making a sanitary examination of the water supply of the state in connection with the state Board of Health. REASON'S FOH THE UNREST. Speaking of the unrest all over the world, we dont doubt it, being full of it ourselves, to the extent that we dont know whether we are going or coming. So many fads and new fan gld ideas are springing up on every hand every day that a person of normal mind cannot keep track of them. It is a day and age of fads and fancies, hallucinations and pipe dreams. We build a billion dollars worth of battleships with one hand and throw them into the Junk pile with the other. Rousseau's celebrated "Confessions', which left such an Imprint on the minds of European thinkers, were undertaken as a deliberate act of intellectual honesty or propagandist fanaticism, according as you care to look at It. George Meredith once wrote a novel called "The Egotist," In which he explored the secret recesses of male selfishness and vanity to such uttermost confines that no male can read the book without flaming blushes at his own image. Meredith read the manuscript aloud to Robert Louis Stevenson, who was also a candid soul. Asked his opinion, Stevenson remarked : "Of course. It Is very fine. But was it quite fair of you to make such a liberal use of me In your portrait of an egoist?" "I did not." said Meredith, with a smile. "The egoist Is not you. He Is " and the author tapped his own breast. Which is a way of saying that the confession of one is. in gie-i- t measure, Is I tat en Year Moptaa ipur cnrisimas Gifts -- Editor DENNIS WOOD A. B.
