D. S. Hospital Following An Operation The Annual Farmers Roundup and Housekeepers Conference at the Utah Agricultural Collegt which ran from anuary 10 to 15, was a tremendous success, r ully one thousand farmers and housewives attended part or all of the sessions while an average at- tendence of over three hundred in the womens sessions and of over two hundred in the mens sessions was maintained throughout the week. Exceptional interest was shown by the women in the lectures of Dr. Caroline Hedger of Chicago ou child nutrition and health. Mrs. Stephenson, with her husband joined the Church in the early sixties in their native country, Denmark, and later emigra ted to America, coming direct to where they have resided since that time, a period of over 50 years, and at the time of her death had passed her 84th birthday. She leaves two daughters and five sons to mourn her loss, and forty grandchildren and five great grand hildren. Bishop J. E. Tolley, who met death In a tragic manner a few days previously while engaged in digging a well. The services were held in the North Ward meeting house, every available Beat being filled by relatives and friends who came to pay their last respects to him. Bishop C. H. Grace was in charge of the services, and were opened with the singing of "Rock of Ages" ' by Mrs. Ed Carter and L. P. Ander- son, accompanied by Miss Norma Big ler. Prayer was offered by Richard Sudweeks. The speakers were P. P. Christison, J. D. Pexton, Jas. Garrett Jr., Alonzo Ingram, and Bishop Grace ' all of whom paid tribute to the worth of the departed as a pioneer builder " in the early days of this community. Other musical numbers rendered were a vocal solo by Arthur Pyper, accompanied by Elma Jones, and two selections by Mrs. Allia Belliston, ac companied by Mrs. Diane G. Booth, Oh Aly Father" and "Face to Face". and a duet by Mrs., Ed Carter and L P Anderson, "The Morning Breaks the Shadows Flee" accompanied by Norma Bigler. Before the benediction ' was pronounced Geo. Tolley, son of the deceased, made a few remarks,' and thanked all those who had assisted during the funeral. The closing prayer was then offer ed by Jas. Samuel Tolley, was born in South MoutoH, Devonshire, England, June 20th, 3,849, and with his parents Win. and..SarahWarre,n Tolley, emigrated to UtaA, in 1858 movvng to Ephraim, Utah then to Moroni, and in the Spring of 18 67 to Nephi. He was married In 1870 to Sarah J. Picton of this city, to which union twelve chil dren were born, eight of whom are still living, these being Samuel, Wm. n. F. Phillip and Jesse P. Tolley of Alberta, Canada, acd Geo. W, Dean C, Lola, and Mrs. J L. Thompson of Gridley, Calif, he also leaves forty three granchildren.
