The .Local Board Receives Instructions Relative To Registrants Employed In Non-Producti- ve Occupa- The Local Board for Juab County received instructions this week relative to the reclassifica tion of mea who, were placed in 2nd, 3rd. and 4th classes, and Attorney V. A. C. Bryan, the legal advisor of the board, .has been going over the regulations, with a view to furnishing the board with required legal advice prepa atory to putting the same into efTect. x The first section of the new rules, contains the following paragraph; "Whenever, after July 1st, 1918 any registrant in class 1. 2, 3. or 4 wherever he may be located, is reported to or observed by any local board, whether it be his local board of origin (that is the Local Board having original jurisdiction of his registration questionnaire) or a local board having jurisdiction over the area in which he may be found, whether having original jurisdic tion over him or not, to be an idler, or to be engaged in any oc cupation or employment defined and described in the regulations or any amendment thereof as a occupation or employment, such local board shall, by notice as herein after prescribed, notify him and et a day and hour when the reg istrant may appear and present evidence, by affidavit or otherwise, bearing upon the reasons for his status, as he may care to submit. The day so set shall be not less than seven days after the date of such notice unless the Local Board on account of distance or other good and sufTicent cause extend the time." The following is a list of those who are classified as being in non- - productive occupations. 1st. Persona engaged in the serving of food and drink, or either, in public places including hotels and social clubs. 2nd. Passenger-elevato- r op erators and attendants and door men, footmen, cariage openers other attendants in clubs, hotels, stores, apartment houses, - office buildings and bathhouses. 3rd. Persons including ushers and other attendants engaged and occupied in and in connection with games, sports and amusements, excepting actual performances. 4th. Persons employed in domestic service. 5th. Sales clerks and other clerks employed in stores and other mercantile establishments. Plans will be made and .committees appointed to thoroughly organize the work. Our idea is for everybody to hit the hopcr at tne same time and to hit him hard while he is stiil young. Charles Painter, was joined in marriage to Earl Whiting, son of Mr. and Mrs. M. F. Whiting of Nephi. Their friends extend best wishes and congratulations. News of (he unexpected death of Mrs. Hazel B. Jennings, was received from Ogden early Friday morning. Mrs. Jennings had been in the Dee Hospital at Ogden for soma. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. A. P.ridge of Portcrville Morgan Co, and was taken there for burial. Funeral services were held Sunday June lf.th. Mrs. M. F. Jennings. Merl Jennings, Mrs. Neil Morsensen, Clair Mortensen, Mrs. Chris Winter, Mrs. .Wm Worwood attended the funeral.. She leaves ay large numberof relatives and friends to mourn her loss and all extend condolences to the bereaved husband. Mr. Woodbury, the County Agent of Juab County, visited Ixnan last week, and with Mr. Orson Neilson and M. E. Jennings, the committee for exter minating the grasshoppers this year, visited some of the fields but retorted it as being too early to put out the poison.
