The attention of all users of the .City water is directed to the revised ordinances as published in the last issue of of this paper, which makes the superintendent of water works responsible for the collection of all dues for the use of water. The city council has undertaken the repairs of the water tank which will incur an expense of a bout $1,500. The council feels that this is an absolute necessity for the benefit and protection of the citizens. The water system should pay its way and would do so if all dues were collected as is provided by the ordinance, but from the begin sing of the system this has never been enforced; and the result Is that a delinquency of something over $1,200 now stands on the city's books uncollected. Now the present administration feels that the Urn has come to call a halt and it is for this reason that the ordinance referred to has been passed and will be enforced, as it is an injustice for some to pay all taxes as they become due (and it can be said that many among this class are those who are not blessed with an abundence of this world's goods) and others allowed the use of wa ter for months without paying their dues. Tne results are that the city has been deprived of the use of this sum. thus increasing the burden of those who pay as they go It is to bo hoped that every water user will appreciate the improvement that is to be made at once and that those who are in arrears to the city for the use of water will make a special effort to pay up and that in the future all may live up to the requirements of the ordinance and thus relieve the superintendent of water works of the unpleasantofduty of enforcing the law governing this branch the city's property.
