T.Marioneaux and a progress' here two weeks. The prosecution is ; for nearly jury conducted by District Attorney Greenwood und County Attorney Pike, and they have not only shown a great deal of sibility n presenting tlieir side of the case, but thus far their prosecution has been characterized with a fairness which comes from a disposition on their part to have every phase of the awful tragedy fully and fairly, brot before the jury that they may be able to render a verdict that will vindicate the law, und at the same time that the defendant shall be justly dealt with. The defense is being conducted by N. A. Robertbe-in- son and Samuel A. King, who are jealously guarding their client's interest in every aspect of the c&se, and bringing into play every art that is known to the trained lawyer to exculpate the defendant from any wrongful act in any aifairs leading up to the tragedy. On Tuesday night the prosecution had rested its case, after having called und examined upwards of 2( witnesses. The tragedy having occurred at a dance hall where there were a great number of people, there are nccessari!y a large number of witnesses to the affair, and while none of them saw it all, they have all contributed to the story which, on the part of the prosecution is, in brief, tliat the Finns were having a dance Christmas eve at which refreshments were served.
