We can just resolve to do our very best. We can benefit from the mistakes we have made In the past and go on from there. Life Is a process of living and learning and if we use our mistakes to learn from, then we are progressing. Let's help ' make the world a better place to live In. Helen Tippetts was home for the holidays with her family, the Perry Tippetts. George and Sebrina Ekins, Gene and Jane Ekins and three children, David and Linda Ekins and little girls went to Orem last week. Keith and Kathryn Black entertained the family at a holiday party. Margaret Mar-garet and Frank Wilde and children chil-dren were here from Salt Lake to join them. A blessed event in the Doug Spencer family last week made their holiday joy more complete, com-plete, a little grandson joined the family. A baby boy was born to Claire and Dwight Alt-dredge Alt-dredge Monday, Dec. 21, at the West Millard Hospital. He is the second child for them. He has a sister, Sherry. The Spencers now have three grandchildren and other grandparents, grand-parents, Mr. and Mrs. Adrian Alldredge of Delta have 25 with the baby's arrival. Claire and Dwight live in Ogden. Sunday evening some of our college students spoke at sacrament meeting. Mrs. Elva Stevens is here with her son and the family, the Clyde Stevens of Pleasant Grove. Holly and Vaughn Price of Mesa. Ariz, were here for the Oak City News MACEL ANDERSON The MIA sponsored a Christmas Christ-mas party and hayride. The young people went caroling in the evening. After they returned, re-turned, a program was held and gifts exchanged. The M.I.A. officers served cookies and cocoa. A number of people attended a wedding reception in Provo last Wednesday in honor of Lee Olson and his bride. Lee is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Olson who are former members of our Ward. Among those who attended were Mr. and Mrs. Alden Nielson, Mr. and Mrs. Wilborn Olson, and Bp. and Mrs. Dean Anderson. Mr. and Mrs. Junius Anderson Ander-son were happy to announce they are grandparents for the first time. A little girl was born to Steve and Ellen Allred on the 21st. Just in time to be a lovely Christmas gift to the family. They also had the pleasure of talking with Kevin for Christmas. Kevin is filling fill-ing a mission in the Texas-Lousiana Texas-Lousiana Mission. The town was saddened Christmas Eve with the death of Walter Peterson, a former resident of Oak City. His family resides in Salt Lake. He was the son of Mrs. Aretta Peterson who was in Salt Lake at the time of his death. He is survived by his widow, Julia B. Peterson and the following sons and daughters, Charolotte Howarth of Rochester, Ro-chester, N. Y., Gerald of Iowa, Jess, Dennis, Janice, Howard and Mary of Salt Lake and his mother of Oak City. Funeral Services were held in Salt Lake Monday and in Oak City Tuesday. Burial In Oak City Cemetery. Miss Lulu Lovell returned home after having surgery in Salt Lake. She is feeling fine and recovering nicely. Mr. and. Mrs. Gus Faust and family enjoyed Christmas in their new home and are spending spend-ing the holidays with us in town. It is nice to have them with us. The Christmas program was very lovely. The P. T. A. people sponsored it in connection con-nection with the school. After the program, the primary took charge with the children going around singing carols. Santa came with his generous treats of candy and nuts for everyone. every-one. It is a Christmas tradition tra-dition in Oak City and we all enjoy the Christmas Eve program pro-gram and party. The Sunday evening sacrament sacra-ment meeting was under the direction of High councilman, Reece Finlinson accompanied by Paul Anderson and Bryant Anderson who both spoke, a duet, "When He ComesAgain" was sung by Paul Anderson and Kathy Wright. Reece also gave a timely talk about being prepared. We always enjoy the visits of the High Councilman and his HARDY . holidays with the Walter Manises. Sue and the Chronicle staff certainly did a good job with the nice Christmas edition this week. The big beautiful colored manger scene pictured was a nice addition to our paper. Our Ward Choir presented their Christmas Cantata at the Lynndyl Ward Sunday. The Verdell Bishops had all of their family here last week. Beverly and Ray Bishop and son Scott, of Lompoc, Calif. Barry and Karen were here for a day and Patrice was home. The Literary Club and the Rook Club held their combined annual Christmas party last week at the School Lunch Center. A delicious supper was enjoyed and cards were played. Sharon and Bruce James and the kiddies visited us over the holidays from Salt Lake. To newly-wed Mr. and Mrs. Brian Peterson: Best wishes for much happiness to you. The Joe Morris family had all of their family together at Christmas time. Jan was here from Salt Lake and Dusty was also home. Our Ward Is catering home-cooked home-cooked NewYear'sDaydlnners for all who wanted to order them, as a W'ard-bulldlng Fund project for our church building. Jim and Thora Peterson were in Salt Lake this week for the wedding of their son, Brian and new bride. The Ron Shum way's are now living up in the Provo area. Carl and Enid Damron wept to Heber City to spend Christmas Christ-mas with Paul and Family. Waldo Warnick, Donna and Floyd Lyle and Richard War-nick War-nick attended funeral services in North Ogden last Wednesday Wednes-day for Ray Warnick and little program. Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Roper had members of their family home for Christmas holidays. Mr. and Mrs. Ross (Carolyn) Olson of Salt Lake and Allen of Cedar. Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Lovell enjoyed visits from -part of their family LaRue Alldredge and children of Las Vegas and David and Rosemary and little son Leland of Cedar during the holidays. Mr. and Mrs. Richard (Dixie) Roberts and little son of Coke-vllle, Coke-vllle, Wyo., Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Pike of Idaho, and Mr. and Mrs. Quayle Dutson and son of Salt Lake City enjoyed a visit with their folks, Mr. and Mrs. Willis Dutson during the holiday season. Arnold and Leslie Talbot and little son are holiday visitors from Draper at the home of their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Cloyd Talbot. Debra and Karen Lovell who are students at Cedar are home from school for the holidays with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Lovell. Miss Arlene Anderson of Ogden is visiting her folks Mr. and Mrs. LeRoy Anderson. Mr. and Mrs. Jay (Jackie) Webb and little daughter of Grand Junction, Colo, and Mr. and Mrs. Dennis (Cynthia)Cook and their baby of Spanish Fork were holiday visitors at the home of their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Grayson Roper. Mr. and Mrs. Norman Olson and children of Salt Lake spent the holidays with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Olson and grandmother Mamie Anderson. Ander-son. Mr. and Mrs. Ron Lewis had Mr. Lewis' parents of Calif., visit over Christmas. They returned re-turned home Sunday. ' Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Schmtz and Dale Pratt of Provo were visitors at their parents home for Christmas, Tom and Becky Pratt. Mr. and Mrs. Newell Anderson Ander-son of Mldvale, Bryant and Moyle of Provo, enjoyed being home with their mother, Helen Anderson during the holidays. Miss Velma Harvey of Salt Lake visited at theDean Anderson Ander-son home for Christmas. Christmas is truely the time for family get-together' s and a lovely time of the year. Mrs. Margaret Roper spent the holidays in Hinckley with her family, the Eugene Morrises. Mr. and Mrs. Wlllard Mathews of Nephiwere visitors Sunday evening at sacrament meeting. Mrs. Humphries father, Mr. t Rowley of Oasis is visiting a few days with the Humphrie family during the holiday season. Miss Sharon Stuart of Salt Lake City visited her parents Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Stuart during the holidays. I girl who were killed In an automobile fiocldent. Ray is the son of the Marion Warnicks. Ray's widow and another child are still in serious condition in the hospital. At the Waldo Warnick home during the holiday season have been several of the out-of-town family members: Christmas eve, Grace and Marvin Smith and their children saw Santa Claus on his house-to house visits. They returned to Provo later that night. Mary Warnick was here also from Salt Lake. Donna and Floyd Lyle of Nev., were here also. Jim and Michelle Purdue have returned from Calif., after spending the holiday with their parents: At Fontana they saw Jim's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Purdue, then onto Bar-stow Bar-stow with Michelle's family, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Ament and her four sisters. Linda Jo Nielson and baby Butch came for a day this week from Ogden. Dottle Damron Dam-ron went back with her for a few days. Vicki and Paul Parish of Salt Lake visited at Dorothy Damron's for several days. Santa Claus visited all the homes in Hinckley on Christmas Christ-mas Eve, as In years past. We all love to have him come and visit the kiddles and have them tell him what they want him to bring them. DeLyle and Annette Bennett and children of Idaho spent Christmas with her parents, the Wayne Petersons. They also attended Brlanand Cindy's wedding reception Monday. Kenna and Jerry Ellis and family are visiting with their folks during the holidays. Ivan Wright's granddaughter, Gloria Wright of Salt Lake and two of .her friends were down to visit. At Fannie Lee Hilton's Saturday Satur-day was Lula Marie and Lamont Henrickson and family of Provo. Also Harlen and wife of Orem were here. Monday, Ross and Valed and Jeanette of Cedar visited that day here with her and the Randle Swen-sons. Swen-sons. Phil and Karla Christensen visited at the Walter Manis' Linda Ashton of Salt Lake visited at the Walter Manis home with Pat and the family. Attending the funeral services serv-ices In Salt Lake for Layton Maxfield Thursday were : Sebrina and George Ekins, Hon Cropper and Fannie Lee Hilton while there, Fannie Lee visited with Lawrence and family at Provo. Dorothy and Paul Theobold and son, Mike are at their home here now, after meeting Mike in Salt Lake as he was coming home on leave from the service and then staying at their Orem home for a short time. Margaret and Frank Wilde and girls spent Christmas with her folks, the George Ekins. Kathryn and Keith Black and boys of Orem are visiting the George Ekins andjhe Blacks in Delta. Hon and Erma Cropper went to Las Vegas Monday to visit Darrell and Ann and the girls. Gloria Willday and Wendy, Diane Hardy went to Oasis to give the program in church, Gloria Willday and Richard Warnick were in Provo and Salt Lake last week. The Hon Croppers had their family with them for Christmas. Christ-mas. From out-of-town were: Mary Ellen and three children chil-dren of Lehi. SOUTH DELTA Bishop and Mrs. LathelCall-ister LathelCall-ister family met in Orem at the home of their daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Mark J. Wis-tisen. Wis-tisen. 50 family members were present, including all children, in-laws, and grandchildren, except Mr. and Mrs. F. G. Wood and family of Arvin, Calif., and Mr. and Mrs. Lyndon Callister and two sons of Pennsylvania. A wonderful wonder-ful time of visiting and feasting feast-ing together was enjoyed by all. The get-together was in honor of Neil who was leaving for the Army Dec. 28. From all the reports, I have decided that It's been a good Christmas for everyone. I was a bit worried for fear Old Santa might get lost In the fog and not get to visit everyone, but he probably had Rudolph out In front, because I've not met a single person that he left out. Did you ever see anything so beautiful as the whole outdoors looked Christmas morning? It was as though it was especially decorated with ropes of white fur where the power and phone lines were, and the wire fences all latlced, even the weeds and trees were just breathtaking. Clark and I drove to Eureka and visited our children, La-Faun La-Faun and Eldon Lovell and their family, and found that Old Santa had even got up there. Edwin and Fontella Skeem went to Tooele Christmas Day and enjoyed visiting their children chil-dren there. They got home in time to greet their children, Hazel and Rex Babbett and their three children who live in Ogden. They stayed until Sunday afternoon. after-noon. . Celso and Kathy Lobo of Provo, spent the holidays with their grandfather, Les Webb, and the Loren Rowley family. We were glad to see them to Sunday School. Mr. and Mrs. Steven Rowley and little son, of Richfield, spent the holidays with their parents and families; the Loren Rowley's in Oasis and the Ervin Farnsworth's In Delta. Ward and Janet Stanworth and family of Magna and Max and Mae Jean Stanworth and family of the Salt Lake area spent the weekend with their mother, Ethel Stanworth. Roland and Mae Cahoon had part of their family home for Christmas. Mr. and Mrs. Max Cahoon and four children and Diane Fullmer and her husband hus-band and three children, all from Delta and Susan and Mike Smith of Salt Lake. Mrs. Isabelle Wadsworth spent Christmas Day with her daughter, Beth and Keith Moody in Deseret. Steven and Janet Pearson and two children of Ogden spent Christmas with parents, Mr. and Mrs. Duane Stanworth and broters, Rex and Jim. The Willoughby clan were all together for the big day. There were Dick andSandyandChrisj Dale and Nadine and family of Sutherland; Kay and Duane Hansen and family of Delta, and Steve and Louise from Delta and Sue and Paul Ludwig and family of Provo. I musn't forget to tell you about the Ward Christmas party last Wednesday evening, a nice program was enjoyed by a good crowd and then Old Santa himself made a visit and brought a sack of goodies for each one. He even took time to listen to all the children who weren't afraid of him. We are happy to hear that Biah S jo strom is back from the hospital. She and Hilding are staying with their son, Norman and his wife, Fay. They had a lovely Christmas and are doing just fine at this time. Mr. and Mrs. Grant Peterson Peter-son went to Bountiful last Wednesday Wed-nesday to spend Christmas with their children, Don and Lois Bradfield and family. They returned re-turned home Saturday. Deloy and Marilyn Stewart and six children fromCorinne, Utah came Sunday to visit their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ted Stanworth. They went home Monday. Sacrament meeting speakers in the Third Ward were young people home for the holidays from school or employed out of the area. They were Ladd Holman, Carolyn Shepherd, Neil Callister, Kent and Karen Morris, Keith Mortensen, a musical number by Karen Eliason and Renee Rowlette. Glen and Eathel Skeem spent Christmas Day InSpanlshFork with their children, Gary and Evelyn Webb and family. Their little grandsons, Russell and Jody came home with them and will stay until their parents come for them New Year's. Mr. and Mrs. Morgan Howell and son, Tony and Fay's mother Amy Brlnkerhoff drove to Provo to visit their children Sam and Kathy Sledge, Sunday. Loren and Beulah Rowley attended at-tended church In Deseret Sunday Sun-day evening. We missed them. The program In sacrament meeting was given by Gloria Willday. She and Margaret Glllen talked and they sang two numbers, and little miss Will-day Will-day and Diane Hardy sang a song and were accompanied by Ila Stanworth. Scott Rowley made a trip to Ephrlam one day last week to thaw the pipes out in the house hej lives In with four other , boys. Hope there wasn't too much damage. Patsy and Shari Stanworth of Provo came Sunday to visit the Duane Stanworth family. Shari and Cindy Pearson are staying this week with grandpa grand-pa and grandma Stanworth and are planning on having a big time, and no doubt they will. Spencer and Alice Webb of Deseret and Mr. and Mrs. Jay Webb and baby who had just arrived from Colo, were there to hear their little grand -daughter, Jodilyn, sing. Mrs. Amy Brlnkerhoff of Beaver visited her children, Fay and Morgan Howell and family. She left Monday morning morn-ing to return to her home.
