Miss Taylor was pledged Tri Delta. A week of parties, afternoon get-togethers, and information sessions culminated cul-minated this week before the girls were pledged. Sororities bidding this week for new members mem-bers were Alpha Chi Omega, Chi Omega, Delta Delta Delta, and Kappa Delta. Neil Whicker is attending BYU this year where he'" will be a Senior. Connie Whicker has returned to Utah State University Univer-sity at Logan.-Neil and Connie: are children of Mr .and Mrs. Wallv Whicker of Delta. Meet Cary Peterson and Family . . . Hinckley - - - Friends of the Lee Wilsons who were here to see them last week were: Don and Peggy Keele p.r.d family of Provo. Also Ron and Mcdge OJor of Ariz, had a short visit with Lee and Lois during the past week. Horace and Pearl Wilkins (pent a clay in Santiquin on business, last week. Zola Bunker spent ten days here at her home. She left the last of the week to go to Salt Lake where she will be about a month and then will be visiting her children and families. Before coming to Hinckley she had been staying in Idaho with her daughter, Julene and family. Thorn and Jim Petersen spent lwo weeks recently in Alaska visiting their son, Bryan at Anchorage. An-chorage. They flew up and their first attraction upon arriving was n 120-mile river boat trip on the Susitan River. They report the scenery was beautiful, absolutely ab-solutely breathtaking. They then went to Mt. McKinley Park which is 90 miles wide. Here they saw so many animals, about 100 head of sheep, herds of caribou, moose and girzzly bear. The mountains there are covered with a growth called tundra. While they were there leaves were all turning color which was a beautiful sight. There is so much growth every-were. every-were. They visited the Cantewell Experimental Farm where there were a lot of reindeer. They went to Seward where they saw the fishing boats, one of which belongs to Faun and Tony Western. Wes-tern. They stayed with Tony and family. Jim and Bryan went on a moose hunt also. It was a wonderful trip they report. The outside walls of out church addition are almost up now on the east section of the building. Mrs. Betty Jane Morris drove her daughter, Janet to Cader Thursday, where she will be attending at-tending college this year. Mrs. Kathryn Black of Oieni "came Wednesday, attended the funeral for Evan Gardner and visited with her folks, the George Ekins. Steve Moore of Ogden visited Gloria Willday Tuesday of last week. Steve was a missionary companion of Ron Hardysin Australia and he was there when Gloria was converted and baptized into the church. Gloria Willday, Richard War-nick, War-nick, Margaret and Eric Gillen J rrt rt i inn went to Salt Lake Saturday and attended a performance at the Salt Palace. The Doug Spencer family were recently nt Ogden to see their daughter and family, Claire and Dwlght Alldredge and little Sherry. Sherry came back for a visit and then her folks caine and got her. I'd like to commend Karol 1. Corey on the achievement .she has earned by being named to the honorary scholastic society so-ciety at the BYU. This ' is a splendid accompolishment. Maxyne and Raymond Finlin-son Finlin-son arrived here this weekend from Calif. Maxyne will stay to help take core of her mother, Alice Bliss during her convalescence. conval-escence. Alice Gaye and Lisa returned to Arizona this week. Mrs. Betty Jane Morris was in Provo one day last week. Mrs. Carolyn Stevens took her daughter, Esther to St. George on the weekend where she will attend Dixie College Many, Many friends from the immediate area and out of town called to see the Ren Tavlors Sunday afternoon at I heir home on their Golden Wed ding celebration. Mrs. Betty Carter has returned to her work after having been off several weeks, after surgery and recupration. Mrs. Carolyn Stevens was in Salt Lake a day last week. Stan and Glenna Knight of Salt Lake visited a day during the week with Glenna's parents the Fay Theobalds. Lula Ma Henrickson and lamily, now of Provo, were here on the weekend visiting with her mother, Mrs. Fannie Lee Hilton and other family members. mem-bers. Keith Black and boys came down with her to join Kathryn who came earlier in the week. Steven Christensen, little sun of the Jim Christenst-ns had a birthday last week. He was honored with a party to celebrate cele-brate it. The Fred Skeem's daughter, Beverly and new husband of Provo where they attend BYU, visited over the' weekend with t hem. Josephine Reeve has returned to Salt Lake after having spent the past several weeks at the Reeve home on Tairt' St. Waldo Warnick," Jr. and son,. Alan and Richard Warnick went out west to tlie hills Friday night and stayed overnight. Beryl and Carl Hardy went to the west hills Saturday. The Elford Reeve's daughter, Janet has been here to see them Aunt Maneta and Uncle Allen Baker of Salt Lake were down for Zella Moody's funeral and I was very happy to see and visit with them as it was the first time in many years we have seen each other. Then Saturday Sat-urday evening I received a telephone tele-phone call from my ' father's sister, Elva of Los Angeles, Calif. The Gordon Chatwins attended attend-ed the State Fair in Salt Lake last week. Mrs. Carolyn Warnick was in Provo last week to see the eye doctor. She went with Grayce Pace. Here for the funeral of Mrs. Zella Moody on Thursday were Lillian Moody of Sail Lake, her daughter, Sylvia, her folks, Mr. and Mrs. Allen Baker, Colleen Muir, and Nina's sister, Florence Farnsworth, also Connie and Floyd Moody. My folks arrived in Utah Mon day from Calif., my mother Edna Ed-na Patterson of Hayward, my sister, Betty Mayer of Fremont and sister, Norma Amende of Saratoga. I went to Salt Lake on the bus Mondy to meet them. We stayed at Sharon's place and then all came to Hinckley on Wednesdy. Bertha Barton of Mid vale came down to visit with all of them and other relatives rela-tives here. Mrs. Bonnie Manis reports that her mother, Mrs. Freda Whicker who had surgery has came through the operation quite well. The Wesley Morrises went to Ely, Nov. to tee Eddie who was leaving to go to Portland, Ore. for a year or so. Eddie went with a musical group he plavs with. Mrs. Joyce Ashby recently enjoyed a very nice visit with the Bergreens along with many other friends. Visiting with the Robert Ashby family were Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Clif-ford Ashby of Ely, The Ashbys attended the Brush Beryllium Employee Openhouse. April Dawson, daughter of Lilly Dawson who has been working in Calif for the past year will now continue her studies at Weber Stale College in Ogden. The Bob Ridings have returned return-ed home from a very enjoyable vacation Into Calif, where they visited in Oceanside with Lt. and Mrs. Robert Riding, Jr., also Mrs. Andrew Patton of Mansfield, Mans-field, Ohio. From there they traveled to Downey where Belly Riding lives and on to San Jose where they visited with Inez's uncle, Mr. and Mrs. D. M. Stewart. Stew-art.
