"D" St. Grants Pass, Ore. 97526 Dear Bob and Inez: We certainly enjoy the Chronicle and appreciate your efforts in putting put-ting out the paper each week and mailing it to Missionaries and Servicement, not to mention others. Thank you so much. Would you please enter an address ad-dress change for us? Lt. V. Ray Bishop, Jr. 821 W. Maple St. Lompac, Calif. ' Mr. R. H. Riding, Publisher Millard County Chronicle Dear Mr. Riding: Thank you for your recent correspondence cor-respondence concerning the problem prob-lem of lawlessness, crime and protest pro-test in the United States. I am very concerned about the trend in the country towards lawlessness law-lessness and have taken a strong position against it. In the Senate I have co-sponsored a bill that would strengthen our laws against internal subversion and revolution. I also voted for S. 30, a bill that would strengthen the authority of the police and the courts in dealing deal-ing with organized crime, professional profes-sional criminals and the habitual offender. I also believe that our state and local authorities should get tougher in their handling of campus protests and riots and lawbreakers law-breakers generally. We have a rather strange attitude among some groups in America today who seem to think that certain elements ele-ments of our society can be selective selec-tive in their obedience to the law. I reject such an attitude. As long as this increase in crime and violence continues, I strongly believe that government has no choice but to administer the law more firmly and more quickly in an effort to bring it under control. I am enclosing a press release and a speech which I gave in the Senate dealing with the protest and crime generally. Sincerely, Wallace F.
