Show ADOAOAM MBS. AFTON FVLLMSB Cold wind and rain showers made Sunday not so springlike again. The northern part of the state is getting it worse and tornadoes tor-nadoes back east. The astronauts got to earth safely safe-ly after giving us all high blood pressure. Lyle Fullmer had his 12th birthday, birth-day, April 18 and also we send belated birthday wishes to Frank Tennant, April 18. Clifford and Erma Petersen and Emily Young and other relatives went to Monroe, Utah to the funeral fun-eral services of their brother, Franklin's wife's services last week. Emily gave a beautiful tribute to Myrtle in the services, as also did Franklin, her husband. Mr. and Mrs. Reed Stewart of Reno, Nev. called on their way home from Ogden where they had been to visit their sister, Ida Chambers and also to Provo to see their son and family. Mrs. Stewart is the oldest daughter of Oscar and Vennie Parker Fullmer who died last year. Richard Fullmer had some steel get in his eye, causing a great deal of pain but the doctor re moved it and treated the eye and it is much better. We had a nice visit from Almon Fullmer, Jr., wife, Dian and two children, Saturday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Bryan Brush and baby Terry Lynn of Las Vegas were at the Jay Fullmers' over the weekend. Geniel will stay until after Patsy's wedding next Saturday Satur-day night. In the paper we read of the death of Mrs. Ethel Houser of Pay-son, Pay-son, one of our old residents of many years ago. Her husband, Earnest, Ear-nest, Houser lived and worked on the old Livingston ranch. Its' owned own-ed by D. A. Osguthorpe now. Mr. and Mrs. Alva Allan Young, Jr. of Bountiful and Mrs. Emily Young called on us Sunday. Mrs. Lola Stoneking attended both funerals in the Delta 1st Ward ' Saturday, James Mace at 11:00 and J Trena Gronning at 2:00. She said the services were very nice and many beautiful floral offerings and comforting words were spoken. Our sympathy goes to the bereaved families. Sugarville VENICE DAVIS Mr. and Mrs. Albert Smith and, family made a trip to St George-Friday George-Friday as his father had passed, away. Saturday Mr. and Mrs. Michael Smith came by and Roxie Losee went down with them for 1 the funeral. Mr. and Mrs. Michael Kline and Linda Boothe of Salt Lake visited over the weekend with their parents, par-ents, Mr. and Mrs. Lee Boothe and Kay Lynn. Sunday night the program was given by Ralph Erickson's seminary class. David Clark had charge of it. Talks were given by David Clark, Rita Shields, Mayna Lovell, Jolyn Clark and Ralph Erickson. A piano solo by Mark Erickson. Mr. and Mrs. Mack Shields visited our meeting and with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Curt Shields. Mr. and Mrs. Russell McBride and Mr. and Mrs. Murray Moss of Salt Lake visited Mr. and Mrs. Leo Davis Saturday. Mosses were here looking after their property and had dinner and visiting in between. Our sympathy goes to the Maces in losing their son, but what can we give more than our life for our country. The Stake Play was very outstanding out-standing and everyone knew their parts. We can congratulate them for a wonderful performance. This is our youth of today and adults rf tomorrow. ' Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Gonder, Mr. j and Mrs. Lee Dearden, Mr. Delbert Young met with the other Mt. I Wheeler Power executives in Ely on Wednesday, April 15th to dis-! cuss more about the power. Mr. Bert Gledhill was "n Ely, Nev. on Wednesday. I Mike Drakulich made a trip to Milford to get medical attention : one day last week. j Blanche Richardson attended the Junior Prom in Tooele, Utah. Mr. and Mrs. Bud Richardson spent the weekend in Salt Lake visiting with their daughter, Donna and friends, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Conde and Mr. and Mrs. Bob Lar-sen Lar-sen and girls. I Mrs. Pat Davies was hostess to party held at her home in Burbank on Saturday evening. A very good time and refreshments were enjoyed enjoy-ed by all present. ' Mr. and Mrs. Gene Timms of Pleasant Grove visited with their daughter and husband, Mr. and Mrs. LaVon Rowley and family. Mr. and Mrs. Chester Wheeler were Provo visitors on Friday. Mr. and Mrs. Rodney Forsythe of Cedar visited on the weekend with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Chester Wheeler. Mr. Alfred Carter spends his weekends in Garrison with his wife and small daughter. His wife is one of the elementary teachers here. He Is doing his student teaching In Bingham. TIIIIlll WARD AREA NEWS MBS. ROBERT ASH BY Tuesday the Relief Society had a fashion show under the direction of Martha Christensen, class leader and Linda Bunker and Lucille Thomas. It was decorated beautifully beauti-fully in Oriental setting. The presidency pres-idency and leaders were all dressed dress-ed In kimonos. The tables were beautifully decorated and a very delicious Chinese dinner was served. There were many lovely fashions modeled, many of which were donated by D. Stevens, The Delmart and Mabel's. It was very lovely and enjoyed by all who at tended. Stake visitors were Pres. Dana Bishop, Counselor Dare Stephenson, Counselor Mildred Church, Sec. Norma Evans, board members, Betty Johnson, Norma Pearson, Venice Taylor. The Mutual Marrieds had their party Saturday at the church. It was Hawaiian style. Everyone came dressed Hawaiiin fashion. The hall was beautifully decorated and a delicious dinner was served while setting on the floor, also chopsticks chop-sticks were used. Iris Harris, Pres. took charge. It was very well presented by the children both in word and song. A lot of time and work goes into the success of these meetings and we should appreciate the efforts ef-forts of all these dedicated teachers. teach-ers. A very large crowd was in attendance. at-tendance. Mr. and Mrs. Darwin Mabbutt and Mr. and Mrs. Clark Terrell flew to Phoenix, Ariz, for the weekend. Mr. and Mrs. Bud Nielson and Mr. and Mrs. Don Evans went to Salt Lake Friday night and saw the Jimmy Dean performance at the Valley Music Hall. Mr. and Mrs. Lee Conant made a trip to Emery Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Scott Anderson and three children visited with their families over the weekend. Mrs. Fern Mortenson and daughter, daugh-ter, Jill and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Cook (Cheryl Mortenson) were in Delta Saturday to attend the funeral fun-eral of Jim Mace and also visited with Mrs. Amanda Whicker. Mr. and Mrs. Orlin Ogden and five children of Kaysville spent the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Norman Nor-man Erickson. Mr. and Mrs. Bob Ashby and five children and Mr. and Mrs. Gary church and three children and Mr. and Mrs. Ken Porter and six children chil-dren and Steven Bell helped Mr. and Mrs. Grant Church celebrate their wedding anniversary Tuesday night with a family party at their home. Arlyn and Mary Styler of Bountiful Bounti-ful visited their parents, Val and Erma Styler Sunday. Reed and Julie Skeem of Tooele visited Saturday and Sunday with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Skeem. MarGenne Rowley went to Ogden Thursday. Mr. Martin Bonadurer of St. George visited his sister and brother-in-law, Eldon and MarGenne Rowley last Monday. Bishop Russell Styler took his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Val Styler to Beaver last Friday to visit Arlo and Ila Messinger and family. It's the first time they had seen the Messinger's new home. Mr. and Mrs. Blayne Barton and four children of Ogden visited their sister and her family, MarGenne and Eldon Rowley Saturday and they left Sunday morning. Mrs. Alice Barton, MarGenne's mother also visited the Rowley family Saturday. Sandy Willoughby visited in Fillmore Fill-more Friday. Dr. Alvin Bishop and his wife, Anna Beth of Logan and his mother to Mr. and Mrs. Don DaFoe on the loss of their new born son. Lemlra Bishop of Delta and Myrle Bennett of Deseret were dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Clark Bishop Sunday. Dr. Bishop has just returned return-ed from a trip to East Asia. He visited several different countries, I cant' remember them all but Hong Kong was one of them. His work is with the Irrigation problems prob-lems In these different places. Mr. and Mrs. Steven Rowley and baby of Richfield visited their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Loren Rowley Row-ley over the weekend. It was good to see them to Sunday School. Scott Rowley was also home from college this weekend. And another college student we always enjoy seeing is Brenda Skeem. These young people always look good to us. I heard that Gary Stanworth was home this week too. And we missed him in Sunday School, but he was Irrigating so that's a good enough excuse for anyone. Mr. and Mrs. Perry Tippetts and daughter, Terrl were speakers in Sacrament meeting Sunday evening. eve-ning. Perry and his daughter sang two beautiful duets. Howard Johnson and Perry Tippetts Tip-petts gave the lesson in the Fellow shipping class Sunday morning. Mrs. Tippetts visited the class also. Eldon and Wilma Cowley and three children of Meadow visited their mother, Hilda Gillen and brothers Deon and Elmo Gillen and their families last Tuesday. Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Kelly and Ella Christensen went to Salt Lake last Wednesday for doctor appointments. appoint-ments. Mr. and Mrs. Ted Stanworth went to Salt Lake last Tuesday on MILLARD COUNTY CHRONICLE the bus. They attended the Ice Follies on Wednesday and reported that it was really worth the trouble to go see them. They stayed with their children, Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Stanworth and family at Granger reutrnlng home Friday. I asked Ruby Skeem what she'd been doing that was news worthy and she said she'd put a lot of mileage on her car chasing to Deseret, Hinckley and Delta but she's not been far enough away from home to mention it. So I won't. Second Ward News EDDYS BARBEN Mr. and Mrs. William Richards (Ema Hunsaker) of Malad, Idaho spent the weekend in Delta visiting. visit-ing. They attended church in the 2nd Ward Sunday. Miss Julie Crane, student at Dixie college visited in Delta with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Grant Crane and Wendy over the weekend. Visiting at the Willard Stephenson Stephen-son home this weekend were Mr. and Mrs. Sadler and family members mem-bers of Logan, Utah. Mrs. Sadler s Mrs. Stephenson's sister. Mr. and Mrs. Leland Rouser and infant son of Cedar visited their family, Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Soren-son Soren-son and Mr. and Mrs. John Swal-berg. Swal-berg. Bishop of Rigby, Idaho spent the week with his mother, Lemira Bishop helping to get the new home ready for her to move in. Erma Stephenson of Cedar was also here. Dr. and Mrs. A. Alvin Bishop of Logan spent the weekend here with his mother. They all had Sunday dinner with Mr. and Mrs. Clark H. Bishop, an uncle. Fae Winsor and Judy Stoneking attended a state PAC Parents Conference Con-ference in Filmore last Saturday.
