In a time when the edges are being eaten off our personalities and we're all being reduced to card-index numbers, we need to hang on to some things. Like our freedom of choice. And that choice is yours only so long as competition and free enterprise and advertising are working for you. Guard them. For they stand between you and a dull and standardized life. Millard County Chronicle Beatification Meeting Held Several Delta residents and Bishop Ben Stephenson of Lynndyl met with Dr. Arvil Stark, USU Extension Ex-tension Services, for a luncheon meeting Tuesday. There's a Tinkertoy Scholarship for Young Designers This is the fifth year that young Tinkertoy designers are being-given being-given an opportunity to turn their original toy models into a $1,000 Scholarship award and an expense-paid expense-paid trip. Now all boys and girls in this immediate vicinity and throughout the United States are eligible to participate to Toy Tinkers' Scholarship Scholar-ship Award Program. Youngsters may submit sketches or photographs of original models which they have designed from Tinkertoy, Tinker Zoo, Toy Maker, or any combination of the three toys, before December 31 to qualify quali-fy for Junior Engineer Certificates of Award and then for the Scholarship Scholar-ship Award Program. Judging is on the basis of imaginativeness and creativity of design. As in previous years, each of the 50 state finalists receive a handsome-mounted, personally-engraved wall plaque. Now holding the title of Utah State Finalist is J. Brent Jarvis of Delta. The Scholarship Award is a 1,000 savings bond and an expense paid trip to New York City for the top designer and his or her parents. With this award goes the title of of Toy Tinker of the Year now held by ten-year-old Becky Wright,' who received the $1,000 bond from Julie Nixon Eisenhower at the White House. R. A. Christofferson, president of Toy Tinkers, says: "The Scholarship Scholar-ship Award Program, now in its fifth year, is in keeping with our line of creative and fun toys."
