The Daughters of the Pioneers held their monthly meeting on Friday afternoon at the home of Mrs. Margaret Roper. Captain Viola Walkor was in charge. Mrs. Ava Anderson gave a history of her grandmother. Martha Roper and Mrs. Bessie Sheriff gave the lesson. There were eight daughters in attendance. Mr. and Mrs. Don Anderson moved their furniture to Manti on Saturday where they are making their home the next two years as temple workers. Bishop and Mrs. Dean Anderson were conference visitors at Salt Lake on Saturday and Sunday. Mrs. Margaret Roper had a visit fom her brother, Harold Walker and Mrs. Walker and a sister of Mrs. Walker's of Pleasant Grove, on Wednesday. Mr. Walter Peterson visited his mother, Aretta Peterson, over the weekend. Mr. Peter Nielson was taken to Fillmore on Thursday by his son, Robert, where he entered the hospital hos-pital for medical care. Mr. and Mrs. Don Anderson, Jr. and family of Loa visited relatives and friends Sunday and especially their mother, Mrs. Ida Finlinson and Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Pratt and family. Mr. and Mrs. Max Cox and family fam-ily enjoyed a visit of their parents Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Cox and Phillip1 of Ferron over the weekend. Mr. and Mrs. Richard Persons of Kamas were weekend guests at the home of their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Dwain Finlinson. Mrs. Ida Finlinson received word that her grandson, Morris Finlinson son of Orin Finlinson, had been wounded in action in Vietnam. He worked with the medical corps and ran into a booby trap. His eyes were badly wounded. He is at present pres-ent in a Japanese hospital where' he is doing as well as can be expected ex-pected but will be returned to the United States as soon as he is able to make the trip and receive treat ment here. Mr. and Mrs. Dwain Finlinson in company with Mr. and Mrs. Orin Finlinson of Payson are on a tour of the Northwest They left Thurs day evening and will be gone several days. The History book of Oak City's Centennial will be published soon and people who care for one should be getting their orders 'n soon to the bishop. The book covers the past 100 years with histories his-tories and pictures and will be very interesting to people who have lived here as well as those who are presently living here. Mag-na. Delia is the mother of triplet boys, they all won their "Duty to God Awards" last month. Margaret is the mother of twin boys, Kent and Brent. Brent is in the Navy and is home on furlough. Kent plans on joining the Marines soon Kay Nielson, who is going to school in St. George was home with her parents, also. Her health hasn't been too good this summer and she has been staying in Sandy with her son, Dee and family. Surely hope she can soon be well. Uncle Oxel Johnson is still in the Juab Co. We are loosing our good, faithful, hard-working mayor, Reed Nielson. Reed has done a lot for the city, but felt like someone elsa should be mayor now. Also two board members, Nina Wilkins and Eddie Dutson are going out of office. New members on the Progressive Party are Mayor, Carl Benson and Board Members, Lawrence Bradfield and Lowell Wilkins. On the Citizens Party, Robert Nielson, Mayor with Alpha Nielson and Russell Great-house Great-house as Board Members. Carl Benson was chairman with Camille Nielson as co chairman and Howard Nielson as secretary of the Progressive Party. New members mem-bers put in thier places were Howard Ho-ward Nielson as chairman, Laura Bradfield, co chairman and Beverly Dutson, secretary. Carol M.
