A duet by Trudy Finlinson and Leslie Anderson. Richard Finlinson Fin-linson was the speaker, who gave a very good oration. Miss Debra Lovell sang a solo and Mrs. Eldon-na Eldon-na Anderson played a medley of patriotic songs and to finish it off the song of Afton and Howard Dutson sang their auction song. The colors were retired by the Scouts. In the afternoon Children's Sports were held on the hall lawn and a ballgame followed. A show in the evening finished the day. The building fund committee sold dinner at noon and the MIA sold concessions. The family of George H. Ander son entertained at Open House Sunday afternoon in honor of their father's eightieth birthday. All of his family was in attendance except ex-cept Elvin and wife and family who live in Louisiana. Those present pres-ent of his immediate family were Mr. and Mrs. Wayne (Beth) Nielson Niel-son and family ( Mr. and Mrs. Le-land Le-land J. (Norda) Roper, Mr. and Mrs. Junius AnrWcnn Trc T.nnrl! Prisbey, Mr. and Mrs. Austin (Meredith) (Mere-dith) Lovell. His brother J. Elmer and wife, Lorena, and Mrs. LaPriel LaBarrow and son, Hyrum of Salt Lake visited and attended Sacra ment Meeting Sunday. Also from Salt Lake was a nephew, Mr. and Mrs. James Heggessy. Mr. and Mrs. Harold (Bud) Heggessy Heg-gessy and family of Bountiful visited visit-ed Saturday and Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Otto Anderson were Sunday visitors from Benjiman at the home of Macel Anderson and attended church and Open House for Mr. Anderson. Others who attended were Mr. and Mrs. Boyd Anderson of Pleasant Plea-sant Grove, Mr. and Mrs. Winston Nielson of Richfield, Mr. and Mrs. Mark Anderson and Sarah Ann, a sister-in-law of Lake Shore and many more. Mr. and Mrs. Don Schmutz and family of St. George visited with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Reed Lovell. Merlene is helping her mother as she is laid up with her broken hip. Mr. and Mrs. Richard Persons and Miss Rose Mary Tippetts are visit ors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Dwain Finlinson. Mr. Carl Harris and son, Don are at home for a visit. They had Mr. and Mrs. Keith Harris and family visiting Sunday from Provo. Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Talbot of Draper are visiting their parents. Mr. and Mrs. Cloyd Talbot. Mrs. Delilah Jacobson was taken to the Nephi hospital Tuesday with a severe attact of gall stones, where she is receiving medical care. Our best wishes for a speedy recovery re-covery at this time. Mrs. Willis Dutson is at present in the LDS Hospital in Salt Lake where she underwent surgery on Monday. Best wishes to Thelma also Mr. Willard Christensen is also in a hospital. Miss Betty Lou Lovell visited over the weekend with her folks, Mr. and Mrs. Burton Lovell. Miss Sue Nielson of Cedar was a visitor for the holiday weekend with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Nielson. Mr. and Mrs. Crandall Nielson ar the proud parents of a little new son born at West Millard Hospital on the 30th of June. Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Nielson are proud grandparents for the first time and the new baby was a blthday gift to his grandmother, Clarice. Mr. and Mrs. Dennis (Cynthia) Cook of Provo are visitors at the home of their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Grayson Roper. Mr. and Mrs. Dwain Finlinson, Mr. and Mrs. Ken Finlinson, Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Roper, Mr. and Mrs. Burton Lovell and Mr. and Mrs. Roland Dutson attended the wedding reception of Mr. and Mrs. Michael W. Nielson (Lenna Kae Anderton) in Richfield Saturday evening. Lenna Kae Is the daughter daugh-ter of Mr. and Mrs. Wilmer (Kathleen) (Kath-leen) Anderton. Mr. and Mrs. Emery Dutson had their daughter, Rachel visiting a few days from Provo. Also on Sunday, Sun-day, Mrs. Mabel Schick of Delta and her daughter, Lavell and children chil-dren of Los Angeles, Calif. Misses Venice and Barbara Reeve of Salt Lake visited several days in Oak City. Mre. Louise Lyman and family of Sunset have been camping in the canyon and visiting relatives and friends. They returned to their home Monday. The little son of Mr. and Mrs. Ken Finlinson was blessed and give a name at Sacrament Meeting. Meet-ing. The name of Daniel Shane was given him by his father. Mr. and Mrs. David Lovell and little son, Leland of Cedar visited a few days with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Lovell. Mr. and Mrs. Don Anderson enjoyed en-joyed a visit from their son, Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Lovell of Tooele on the Fourth of July. Glenn and Sherri are moving to Phoenix, Ariz, soon where they have employment. Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Trimble were happy to have Mrs. Trimble's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas of i South Carolina come to pay them a visit. His wife and daughter of Cedar accompanied him. Mr. and Mrs. A T. Black spent a few days the first of the week In Salt Lake and Tooele. Mr. and Mrs. Max Jensen and son of Salt Lake were down for the 4th and also the weekend with Max's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Axel Jensen. Mr. and Mrs, Raymond Peterson and daughters spent Saturday at Richfield for the Horse Racing. Larry Moody and family of Salt Lake were here over the weekend with Larry's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Keith Moody. Mrs. Luclle Hales left Saturday by train for Philadelphia where sh.j was met by her son, David, and on Tuesday they left for a tour of Europe. Mr. and Mrs. Verle Black of first opportunity the children have had to get acquainted with their grandparents. The Trimbles are caretakers in the canyon. The Relief Society held another auction Saturday to raise funds for the new church. They had many items of interest and had a very successful auction. Visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Pratt were their friends Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Baker and son, Roger of Montana. Mr. Baker and Roger went to Provo and Mrs. Baker is staying to spend the week. Mr. Devon Roper came to take his family back to Arizona and visited his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Bert Roper. Birdie and the children have been here the past month assisting as-sisting Nellie who has been recuperating re-cuperating from surgery. Mr. and Mrs. Max Cox and family and Mrs. Ellis Anderson visited in Salt Lake and Provo three days during the past week and attended the parade and fire works on the Fourth at Provo. Mr. and Mrs. Don Anderson left Monday to find an apartment 'n J Manti where they will be making their home. Visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. CIH Dutson on Saturday and Sunday were Mr. and Mrs. Millard Owens and family of Cedar and Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Church and two children of Panguitch. Mrs. Mollie Dewsnup visited several days at the home of Ulala and Bill Mace at Flowell. Mr. and Mrs. Harold Western and children of Phoenix, Ariz, returned re-turned to their home Sunday after having spent a week visiting Harold's Har-old's parents, Mr. and Mrs. F. M. Western. The five week old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gill Dutson received her name and blessing on Sunday. She was given the name of Wendy Dutson and was blessed by her father, Gill. Mr. and Mrs. Laurence Bennett spent from Wednesday to Saturday at Nephi Canyon. Their son, La-Mont La-Mont and family of Richfield and daughter, LaRue Willden and sons, Bruce, Randy and Layne of Granger and Mrs. and Mrs. Gary Willden of Provo met them there and had a very nice visit and outing together. Mr. and Mrs. Max Bradley of Salt Lake visited at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Wells Robison. Mrs. Dora Black and Mrs. Vada a ti ! Van visited one day last week nt Orem with relatives. Mr. Don Jensen returned Saturday Satur-day to his home at Calif, after having spent the past two weeks at the home of Mr. and Mrs. A. T. Black. Mr. and Mrs. 0. L Dutson were in Salt Lake the first of the week. First Ward News JUDY ANN STONEKING Mr. and Mrs. Dennis McPherson and Chris of Salt Lake spent the weekend in Delta with parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Thomas. Chris stayed to visit for two more weeks. Chuckle Millwee of Sacramento, Calif, has been visiting his grandparents, grand-parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Thomas and his cousin acott Thomas. Thom-as. Scott and Chuckie left Sunday by train for Sacramento where Scott will visit with relatives. Mrs. Spence Wright attended the wedding of her grandson, Wallace F. Wood, and Iris Bjirregaard on June 27, 1969. The ceremony was performed in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. The bride's parents live In Bountiful. A reception was held In the Bountiful Stake Center. The newlyweds are making their home in Salt Lake. Ronald and Gayle Jensen and family visited last week with friends and relatives in Colorado, New Mexico, Texas and Arizona. Douglas and Jay LaFevre and family of Richardson, Texas are visiting this week with Ronald and Gayle Jensen. Joy is Gayle's sister. AFTON FULLMEB The 4th of July Parade in Delta was very good, "exceptionally good". Summer has arrived. We already al-ready have had one day of 100" weather( but the 4th was nice and cool. The Jay Fullmer family went to Trout Creek to spend tre 4th with Bryce Brush and family and Bryan and Geniel Fullmer Brush and also the Tracy Fullmer family. Patsy Fullmer stayed with Connie Ogden. The crops so far look good. Some hay was blackened but most hay was up when the rains came. Belated birthday greetings to my husband, John and Janice Corbett Spencer July 5th. The Nell Sampson family (Jackie Corbett) were here for the 4th with the Chester Corbetts and Fern Sampson of Delta. We are going on a trip for a week with daughter, Marilyn Sheriff, Sher-iff, up in the Bear River country where John was born. He has relatives rela-tives all the way from Logan to Grace, Idaho, so haven't been able to gather much news. Mr. and Mrs. Michael Petersen and baby are visiting with the Harold Petersens and Faye Howell. The Harold Petersens recently took a trip to Parker, Arizona.
