She traveled trav-eled with the IDS Sociables, who chartered a bus with 40 people a-board. a-board. They traveled into Glacier Park, Canada and visited the highest high-est peak, where the Duke of Win-sor Win-sor built his palace. The palace is now just a showplace and tourist attraction. They attended Temple sessions in both Idaho Falls, Idaho, and Cardston, Canada on the return re-turn trip. Fontella attended a Fireside Fire-side in Salt Lake and visited with Clarence Warner, ,a one time resident resi-dent of Delta, who asked her to say hello to all of his friends in the area. Kathy and Deb Stoddard were given the opportunity to greet Pres ident Nixon, with the rest of a large crowd, as he landed by helicopter heli-copter on the White House lawn after completing peace talks in the South Pacific Most of his cabinet cab-inet and the Congressmen were there also, and heard his five-minute speech. Luell Stoddard Lekan of Cleveland, Cleve-land, Ohio called her brother Steve to say that her young son, Edward was still blind in one eye because of an accident when he was shot with a tilank-gun by a neighbor's child. He has had several operations opera-tions and spent 5 weeks in a hospital, hos-pital, but it won't be definite that his blindness may be permanent until December. Mr. and Mrs. Steve Stoddard spent Friday night in Kaysville to attend the wedding of Laurel Mil-man Mil-man to Tom Weeks of Layton. Mr. and Mrs. Norman Gardner entertained at' dinner, Friday even ing, In honor of their son, Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Gardner of Idaho Falls, Idaho, who have just been called as Pres. of the Hawaiian Mission. They left for Hawaii on Tuesday morning, July 1. Family members In attendance were the Kenneth Gardners, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Gardner and family of Farm-ington, Farm-ington, Mr. and Mrs. Glen Gardner of Las Vegas, Mrs. Lila Ball cf Gunnison and Mr. and Mrs. Donald Don-ald Rotison and family, The Glen Garders stayed the weekend for a longer visit and returned to Las Vegas, Sunday. Mrs. David Seegmiller and four children, Donald, Bob, Sharon and Diane, spent Tuesday and Wednesday Wednes-day visiting at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Glen Seegmiller. They were enroute to their home in Colorado, Col-orado, after spending two weeks in Calif, visiting friends and doing some sightseeing. Major Seegmiller Seegmil-ler is spending the summer in Cal. He is engaged as a consultant at the Lawrence Laboratory in Liver-more, Liver-more, Calif. Miss Nelda Prestwich of Fuller-ton, Fuller-ton, Calif, is visiting her mother, Abbie Prestwich. Nelda has been teaching school there, but is now moving back to Utah and she will j teach school next year in Davis County. Mr. and Mis. Mike Carroll and three children of Crescent City, Calif, are visiting with Mr. and Mrs. David Olson in Delta for a few days. Mr. and Mrs. Wm. S. Bassett just returned from a 13-day trip into Calif. They visited their son, Lynn Bassett and family at Citrus Hights Then in Sacramento they visited Mr. and Mrs. Shil De'benham (Lila Sampson) and family. The Deben-hams Deben-hams are leaving immediately for Alaska, where they will make a new home. Sunday, June 22, Mr. and Mrs. Ladd Black and family entertained at a family dinner in honor of their father, June Black, at their Ogden home. Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Doug-las Robison and family of Orem were also in attendance. Mr. and Mrs. June Black and Mr. and Mrs. Duane Finlinson of Oak City attended a Postmaster's Con vention in Logan and returned home Friday evening. j Mr. and Mrs. June Black went to St. George, Saturday, to visit over the weekend with June's brother, bro-ther, Mr. and Mrs. Shirl Black. Then a talk by Mr. Anderson. The ward youth choir furnished music. Miss Georgette Cook, a 12-year-old girl from Wash., D.C., who has been living with Sharron and Kirk Stromberg for sime time, was a visitor in Delta for the past week, with Sharron's mother, Mrs. Ruth Steele. Miss Cook left Friday for Salt Lake and will fly back to Washington, soon. A group of girls, 12 in number, from our stake, participated in the all-girl Dance Festival in Salt Lake Friday and Saturday. Two girls, from the 2nd ward, Karen and Phillis Adams, were in the group. It was an enjoyable experience. Mrs. Norma Adams, Jerry Jensen and Kathy Smith were chaperones. They went to Salt Lake Wednesday, Wednes-day, for practice and returned Sunday, Sun-day, after the festival. Mr. and Mrs. Victor Anderson and family, Dennis, Craig, Karla, Brent and Connie of St. George, visited Sunday, June 29, with Miss Gloria Adams and her family, Mr. and Mrs. John A. Adams. Dennis Anderson of St. George spent the weekend in Delta visiting Gloria Adams and her family. Mr. and Mrs. Paul Spor of Provo were Delta visitors, this past week end, with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Chad Spor and Mr. and Mrs. John A. Adams and family. Our sympathy and love are with Mrs. Virginia Theobald and family fam-ily at this time of sorrow, because of the death cf their husband and father. Grant Theobald, Saturday morning. Mr. and Mrs. Glen Swalberg and Todd spent Saturday in Salt Lake, attending MIA Conference. Mr. and Mrs. Avon Barney of Ran Chester, Wyo. and Mrs. Ralph (Betty Barney) Rollins ' of Provo visited Friday with Mr. and Mrs. V. S. We received an inch and a quarter, Tuesday. Debra Lovell spent the past week in Mantl with grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Reed Lovell. The Finlinson family held their annual reunion at Leamington this year with the Joseph Filinson fam ily hosting it. The Finlinsons of Oak City were in attendance. This is the first time the George Finlinson Fin-linson family has been together since their mother died. Mrs. Amy Faust reported the family, at last count, numbered 992. A hundred and seventy-five were in attendance attend-ance at the reunion. Mr. and Mrs. Delynn Nielson and children visited a few days with their mother, Mrs. Twiss Nielson and attended the Lovell-Brunson wedding reception Saturday evening. even-ing. Mr. and Mrs. Richard Finlinson and family of Phoenix, Arizona are spending the summer at their home in Oak City. Mr. and Mrs. John LaFevre and family of Tropic spent a few days with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Eldon Anderson. They came especially espec-ially to help celebrate the 52nd wedding anniversary of their parents. par-ents. Members of their family, Bishop Dean Anderson, Mr. and Mrs. John (Genevieve) LaFevre, Mrs. Bryce (Edith) Finlinson and Macel Anderson accompanied Mr. and Mrs. Anderson to a session in the Manti Temple on Friday. On Sunday, the family had a get-together with a family dinner in honor of their parents. "Congratulations "Congrat-ulations " Eldon and Alice. Mrs. Chloe Alldredge and EIRue had medical care. Mrs. Jon Brown (Marsha) and children of Phoenix, Arizona are visiting her mother, Chloe and EIRue. Mrs. Janet Torrens and children of Orem visited a few days with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Grant Finlinson. Mr. and Mrs. Lambert Dutson and Mr. and Mrs. Quayle Dutson visited at the home of their par ents, Mr. and Mrs. Willis Dutson a few days. Miss Sharon Stuart of Salt Lake visited over the weekend with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Stuart. Stu-art. Sharon will be vacationing m San Diego, Calif, next weekend. Misses Sue Nielson and Betty Lou Lovell, of Cedar City, visited over the weekend with families. Mr. and Mrs. Steven Lovell and children of Wendover spent the past week visiting their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Burton Lovell. Mrs. Rachel Melville of Salt Lake was a weekend visitor with her sisters, Susan Shipley, Florence Lovell and Ava Anderson, brothers, broth-ers, Gayle and Alden and families. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Nielson attended at-tended June Conference In Salt Lake and visited a few days with friends and relatives. Mr. and Mrs. Reed Lovell and Mr. and Mrs. Don Anderson will be home thru July, while the Temple Tem-ple is closed at Manti. Mrs. Margaret Roper returned home, Saturday, after a visit in Oakland, Calif, with a cousin, Mrs. Helen Ream. Mrs. Roper accompanied accomp-anied another cousin, Mrs. Velma Rassmanson of Pleasant Grove to Calif. Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Lovell enjoyed en-joyed a week's visit from Ven-lece's Ven-lece's sister-in-law, Mrs. Dee Vent and children and her mother, Mrs. Freda Callahan of Santa Barbara, Calif. I made a mistake last week and said Brent Lovell was on his way back to Georgia. He is moving his family to Calif. Mrs. Lovell and children, Lisa, Russel and Jeremy, DELTA THIRD VARD MRS. ROBERT ASH BY Mr. Bent Mork, Explorer Leader, took his class, Bill Ashby, Clark Mortensen, Fred Erickson, Earl Wood, and Rudger Morris, to Yellowstone Yel-lowstone for 5 days. They had a good time, in spite of the snow and cold weather. They saw lots of bear and elk. Bishop and Mrs. Lem Lovell went to Provo and picked up their daugh ter, Nancy, and brought her home. She has been attending a school at BYU. Mrs. Mae Taylor is at her home for a couple of weeks. She is care-ing care-ing for her brother in Las Vegas. His health isn't very good. Mr. and Mrs. Lathel Callister went to Salt Lake to attend Conference. Con-ference. They saw the Dance Festival Fes-tival and report it was beautiful. Mis. Geo. Billings attended Con-I Con-I ference Friday and Saturday. ' Pres. E. L Moody went to Salt Lake to the Genealogical Library. Miss Susan Mork and Miss Jackie Jack-ie Evans were home over the week end with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Bent Mork and Mr. and Mrs. Don Evans. Mr. Raymond Finlinson of Calif visited a few days with his folks, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Finlinson and Garth. Mr. Garth Finlinson spoke in meeting, Sunday evening and told of his work in Chile on the church farm and with the building of a church school in the country. That is what they are laying the ground work for at present. Mr. and Mrs. Richard Persons (Jane) visited the past few days with their parents, Mr. and Mr?. Dwain Finlinson. Judith's friend, Rosemary and four little Indian boys visited over the weekend at the Dwain Finlinson home. Mr. Kent Finlinson and a friend visited over the weekend from Provo Pro-vo with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Burnis Finlinson. Mrs. Margo Skeem and friend, Sherri Smith of Salt Lake visited Saturday and Sunday with Mar-go's Mar-go's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Nielson. Mr.and Mrs. Scott Sheriff were recent visitors of their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Wilford Sheriff. AREA NEWS BRIEFS Mr. and Mrs. Bent Mork went to Salt Lake, Monday, to take Susan back to school and to keep a doctor's doc-tor's appointment. Mr. and Mrs. Bud Nielson went to Nephi to visit Nan's parents, and also, to pick cherries. Mr. and Mrs. Ronny (Joyce Mc Clellen) Anderson and family of Lahabra, Calif, visited her parents, Mr. and Mrs. LaVer McClellen and other relatives, Tues. and Wed. Becky and Kerry Finlinson, child ren of Mr. and Mrs. Arlyn Finlinson Finlin-son and grandmother, Mrs. Finlinson, Finlin-son, rode the train to Salt Lake. They were met there by Arlyn and Terry and went to see Arlyn's sister, sis-ter, Verdene and family. They left their children there for a while. Mr. and Mrs. Sherm Perkins went to Ely to visit with Sherm's brother bro-ther and family, Mr. and Mrs. Lou Perkins. Mrs. Sarah McClellen went to Tooele, Friday, and stayed with her sister. The Lathel Callister farm was bursting with activity and excitement excite-ment this week. A family reunion was held Saturday, and for the first time in 13 years, the entire family was together. Thursday, Fernard and Marilyn Wood and 4 children of Arvin, Calif., arrived. Friday, Lyndon and Susan Callister and son from Penn State, Pa.; Kathryn Wistisin and 5 children of East Chester, N.
