Principal Fowles As the inaugural ceremonies smoothly usher in a New President of the United States, we see one ' more of the wonders of democracy. "I can only regret that I have I but one life to give for my country." i These were the famous words uttered ut-tered by Nathan Hale as he was ! about to be executed by the British. Whrt is it about this country that would make a man wish to die rather than settle for honors and wealth In an enemy country? Is I it religious freedom? Is it economic incentive, a chance for everyone to save, invest, advance, develop, succeed suc-ceed on his own. Is it the tremendous tremen-dous tradition of every man accepting ac-cepting his own responsibilities and achieving for himself? , These are Indeed a few advantages advan-tages that should make us all say, "I am proud to bo an American.1 I May we contribute to America's success, uphold her laws, nnd do our part to make our country "the grandest on earth."
