The award, a Junior Engineer Certificate from the Toy Tinkers, division of A. G. Spalding & Bros., Inc., reads: "In. recognition of creative crea-tive imagination, ingenuity and skill, the Toy Tinkers offers this certificate as evidence of this achievement." Along with the certificate, Brent received news that the model automatically will be entered in the 1968 Scholarship Award Pro gram to find the most imaginative creation of the year. Each of the fifty state finalists, to be selected at the close of the 1968 program, will receive 'a hand some - mounted, personally err graved wall plaque. From the state finalists, one national winner will be chosen. Awards for the national winner, the Toy Tinker of the Year include a $1,000 Saving Bond Scholarship and an expense paid trip to New York for both the winner and his or her parents. Judging of all models is on the basis of imaginativeness and creativity crea-tivity of design. The awards program, pro-gram, now in its fourth year, is in keeping with our line of creative and fun toys, says R. A. Christof-ferson, Christof-ferson, president of Toy Tinkers. Order the Chronicle for your student today. Mr. and Mrs. Louis Overson spent Saturday in. Holden visiting their daughter, Arlene Christensen and family, also deer hunting. Mrs. Carl Benson received word of the death of her sister, LaVerda W. Smith, 65, of Orem. Mrs. Smith has been ill for a long time.. She died in a Salt Lake hospital Oct 21. Funeral services were held Fri' day In Orem. Mr. and Mrs. Benson attended the services. All of our children were home the first weekend of the deer hunt except Lois and children. We had a nice visit, but not many deer were brought in. Mr. and Mrs. Dewey Carpenter of Hinckley visited at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Laurence Bradfield last Saturday. Mrs. Nola Greathouse had surgery sur-gery last Thursday at the Payson Hospital. She was able to come home Saturday. Mrs. Laura Bradfield received word last Thursday of the death of her brother, Marion H. Christensen, 75. He died in a Salt Lake hospital of a heart attack. He was buried Saturday in Talmage, Duchesne Co. Laura was unable to attend his funeral services because of her health. Mr. and Mrs. Niel Dearington and six children of Las Vegas visited at the Laurence Bradfield home last week with Jay and Rose. Neil and Jay were Stake Missionary companions com-panions when Jay lived in Las Vegas. Phil Nielson and Ellis Porter went to Salt Lake last Thursday for medical checkups. The Primary Officers gave the children a special Halloween treat in Primary this week. The MIA had their annual Halloween Hallo-ween party Tuesday night. The program in church Sunday night was given by Mr. and Mrs. Clead Nielson. Six of their grandchildren grand-children sans a song, accompanied by Carol Ann Nielson. Margie Greathouse is vacationing here at home this week. She has employment in Calif. Also at the Greathouse home is her daughter, Denlce, also of Calif, and her son, John who is on furlugh from the Army. John will report back to duty Nov. 11. Margie has certainly been missed here in Lynndyl this fall. Glad she could come back if only for a visit. hi V 7th National Scout Jamboree Set for Farragut, Idaho The Seventh National Scout Jamboree has been set for July 16-22, 16-22, 1969 at Farragut, Idaho. To attend the jamboree a Boy Scout must have attained the age of 12 on or before Sept. 21, 1968. Explorers who have not been Scouts must have been registered on or before July 1, 1968. Boy Scouts and Explorers or former Scouts must have achieved the Star Rank on or before April 1, 1969. Explorers who have not been scouts must meet requirements of camping experience, ex-perience, leadership, Scout spirit, etc. All candidates must be interviewed inter-viewed by a local District Jamboree Selection Committee before they can bo accepted. This district has been given four participants. This number is set by the National Council Coun-cil and is based on the number of registered Scout and Explorer units in the Council at the end of Dec, 1967. Additional information will be sent to each Scoutmaster and Explorer Ex-plorer Advisor. Mr.and Mrs. Wayne Gonder accompanied ac-companied Mr. and Mrs. Dean Baker to Ely to a Farm Bureau meeting. Mrrs. LaRue Rowley was in Delta Tuesday. Mrs. Verl Tolbert accompanied Mrs. Owen Gonder to Delta Tuesday- . . . Mr. and Mrs. Bud Richardson visited with the Dee Heckethorns of Ely on Wednesday evening. Mrs. Carl Dearden was an Ely visitor Saturday. Mr and Mrs. Bob Larsen and family of Salt Lake were visitors in Garrison Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Verl Tolbert were Delta visitors over the weekend. Mr. and Mrs. Louis Johnson of Sprlngville visited over the week end at the Lee Whltlock home. The people of the valley were all saddened by the death of Val Bunker. Bun-ker. Mr. and Mrs. Lee Dearden left Wednesday for Willow Beach at Boulder City, Nev. for the winter. Mr. and Mrs. Emerson Gonder were in Ely Thursday afternoon, Mr. and Mrs. Sherm Tolbert visit, ed with the Verl Tolberts ovpr tw weekend. Duane and Alden Kerr of Ely, visited with the Wayne Gonders on Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Bud Richardson and girls were in Salt Lake Saturday.
