We are happy to have so much moisture and the snow pack in the mountains. Mrs. Theo Stuart is at home and doing very well. We are happy to know she is improving. Their daugh ter, Sharon has taken a job in the bank at the present time. She says she really enjoys the work. Mr. LeRoy Anderson was operated operat-ed on at the De Memorial Hospital in Ogden last Thursday. His pera-tin pera-tin was successful and he is getting along fine. He will be at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ladd Black for a few days after leaving the hospital before returning home. Mr. and Mrs. Grant Morrey of Joseph visited on Thursday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ellis Anderson. Ander-son. Mrs. Avis Stephenson and child ren of Salt Lake and Paul Anderson Ander-son of Weber College spent the weekend visiting their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ellis Anderson. Francis Anderson and son, David of Ely, were also visitors at the Anderson home. Bishop and Mrs. Dean Anderson were in Salt Lake on Wednesday on business. They attended the New Mexico, BYU basketball game at Provo Saturday night and really enjoyed the game and seeing BYU win. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Anderson attended at-tended a testimony meeting at the Tabernacle in Salt Lake on Sunday night. There were many lovely quartettes quar-tettes from the various wards at MIA Tuesday night. A lovely program pro-gram was enjoyed by a large crowd Mr. and Mrs. Don Anderson spent Saturday in Orem visiting with Ruth's daughter, Bernice, who is recovering from an accident, and her son Floyd and family. Mr. and Mrs. Ray Lovell and Mrs. Aretta Peterson attended the funeral fun-eral of Mrs. Margaret Duncan, a sister of Aretta's, at Eureka on Wednesday. Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Talbot of Kearns and Mr. and Mrs. Richard Talbot and Craig were visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Cloyd Talbt over the weekend. Bishop Karl Lyman of Provo was the speaker at Sacrament Meeting Sunday evening and at fireside following the Sacrament Meeting. The power was off in Oak City, Leamington and Fool Creek for four hours Sunday evening. It was off from 5:30 to 9:30 due to trouble which originated in Lcamingtnn Canyon. Mrs. LeRoy Walker attended a DUP meeting at Fillmore on Friday. They also attended the funeral services ser-vices for Mr. John Wind at Sutherland. Suther-land. Bishop and Mrs. Dean Anderson entertained Mr. and Mrs. Don Anderson, An-derson, Mr. and Mrs. Eldon Anderson, Ander-son, and Karl Lyman at dinner Sunday Sun-day evening. The wedding reception of Mr. and Mrs. Lamar Anderson was lovely. Mr. and Mrs. Emery Dutson and Lemira and Rachel attended the reception for the former Evelyn Robinson at Fillmore Saturday nite. They also attended the Anderson reception in Oak City. Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Nielson celebrated cele-brated their 25th wedding anniversary anniver-sary Sunday with a family get-together. Mr. and Mrs. Orin Finlinson from Payson were here to join with other members of the family. Ivan has spent a long time in the hospital hospi-tal but is happy to be much improved. im-proved. We all send our congratulations congratu-lations to Ivan and Ina. Mrs. Bruce Ivell slipped on the ice and was hurt quite badly Saturday. Sat-urday. She recovered enough so she was able to make it to work Monday. SUTHERLAND MRS. HEBER ROSE Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Porter made a trip to Payson to visit with Mr. and Mrs. Clair Porter and famil y. Mr. Porter is feeling good enough to get around a little now and we all welcome him back and are glad for his recovery from his illness. Mrs. Hettie Johnson is quite ill at this time and we hope she will soon be better. Mrs. Johnson' is stay ing at Lynndyl at the present time with her daughter Mr. and Mrs. Overson. Mr. and Mrs. Richard Benson of Orem came Saturday to spend the weekend with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Owen Benson. They returned re-turned Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Irvin Hatch and children of Cedar were here to visit with their folks, Mr. and Mrs. Golden Gol-den Erickson. Lewis Rawlinson and his friend from Logan were visitors at the Glen Rawlinsons. Also to visit was their daughter, Annette from Cedar. Mr. and Mrs. Carl Larsen (Evelyn Johnson) are visiting with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Bert Johnson. Susan Lyman of Provo spent the weekend with her folks, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Lyman and family. She is here between semesters and will resume her school activities beginning begin-ning a new semester, as many of the students will do. who are alien ding the Y. Mr. and Mrs. Howard Johnson and children have been spending a week in Salt Lake with their folks Mr. and Mrs. Timmerman and family. Mr. and Mrs. Boyd Beagley and children stayed over night with their folks, Mr. and Mrs. Will Bunker. Bun-ker. Mr. Beagley was on his way to Provo where he will attend some meetings. Mr. Gordon Johnson entered bar ber school at Salt Lake Monday. Gordon has been employed at the Phillips 66 station for the past while. Mr. and Mrs. Max Johnson made a trip to Salt Lake where Mrs. John son was asked to give a talk at the business convention. While they were there they visited with their daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Richard (Gayle) Garrett and children, with their mother, Mrs. Rhoda Jackson and their daughter, Lorraine in Provo. Mrs. Jerri Sheehe and children of Salt Lake were here Sunday to visit with their mother, Mrs. Mary Johnson. John-son. Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Jackson made a trip to Salt Lake last week. While they were there they visited with Mrs. Rhoda Jackson and Mrs. Robison, their mothers. This area was saddened by the death of one of its long time residents. resi-dents. The services and love that people offered to the Wind family spoke well of Mr. Wind. To attend the funeral from out-of-town were his children, Mr. and Mrs. Floyd (Mildren) Rector, their son John and their daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Saint Vasques of Calif.; Mr. and Mrs. Auer Jensen, their sons, Verl of Idaho, Gary and a younger son of Orem and daughter RLene of Logan; Mr. and Mrs. Harold Har-old Wind their sons, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Wind and children of Granger, Gran-ger, Mr. and Mrs. Kay Wind of Provo; Mr. and Mrs. Tom Warr and baby Jola and Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Wind and baby; Mr. Bernard Wind and his sons Mr. Melvin Wind and Mr. Jimmie Wind of Provo. Mrs. Bernard Wind had just had surgery so was unable to attend. Mrs. Male Ma-le Jaeobson, a niece of Mr. Wind's and her daughter Donna of Vale, Oregon; Mr. and Mrs. Gale Bywater (Doyne Underhill) of Salt Lake and Mr. and Mrs. Coffman of Blackrock. Children of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Wind, Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Little and sons of Las Vegas, Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Wright of Salt Lake. Mr. Wallace Dennison died suddenly sud-denly of a heart attack out on the west desert last week. Mr. Dennison Denni-son was herding sheep for Mr. Reid Wilde. Mr. Dennison's wife was there with him from Monday until Tuesday when Mr. Wilde came. Mr. Dennison was a nephew of Marion and Bill Killpack and Mrs. Hi Denni son of Delta. Mrs. Wind, Harold, Thora and Mildred returned from Provo Friday night. (Mr. Wind was buried In Provo) "hese folks will stay with their mother for a week or two. ELAINE HARDY The Hinckley Ward Quartette Festival held Tuesday evening at the church was highly successful and entertaining. The two quartettes quar-tettes receiving the highest awards were a male quartette, "Some Enchanted En-chanted Evening", by Dean, Craig, Kenny and Cluff Talbot; Ladies quartette, "Dancing Snowflakes", by Mrs. lone Christensen, Mrs. Lyla Rae Morris, Mrs. Anna Lee Hep-worth, Hep-worth, Mrs. Delma Jean Galli. Every number was very outstanding and those who attended were delighted with the excellent performances. Following the festival , the Bee-Hive Bee-Hive girls sponsored a bake sale. Mary and Vance Abbot and family fam-ily of Spanish Fork spent Sunday with Mrs. Clnra Stewart, Mary's mother. They returned home that evening. Esther and Lowell Petersen were in Salt Lake recently to attend the funeral of a friend at which Lowell was a pallbearer. Julia anad Ferron Bliss and children child-ren Kathryn, Ronnie and Paul of Spanish Fork visited with Alice Bliss one day during the weekend last week. Mr. and Mrs. Jim Christensen were in Nephi Tuesday morning on business. Dave Buchanan of Salt Lake spent two days at the Grant Hardy Har-dy home the past week. Mrs. LaFay Corey is visiting in Nev. with her daughter and family. Mrs. Sebrina Robinson returned home a week ago after spending the past several weeks at the home of her son Ross and his family at Elko, Nev. Since she has been at home, her sister, Lynn Warnick has been staying with her. She left this week to go to Salt Lake to stay with her sister Mrs. Mattle Bliss, whose husband; "Alfred is very ill. Later she will visit with her children. child-ren. Two of her grandsons will be returning from missions in the near future. The Judd Hardy , family visited with Beryl, Carl and Ronnie Sunday They returned home to Salt Lake that evening. Lylc and Anna Lou Stanworth have a new car this week. Wyalt and Dawn Finlinson, son and daughter of Maxlne and Raymond Ray-mond Finlinson of Calif, who are attending BYU drove down from Provo Sunday to spend the afternoon after-noon with their grandmother, Mrs. Alice Bliss. . Jeddie and Elizabeth Judd and two children, Melanie and Gregory, of Fillmore spent Sunday afternoon with the Lee Judds. Mrs. Connie Webb's birthday was celebrated Thursday afternoon at a family gathering at her home. Present were: Connie's sister, Erma Pugmire, Verda Stanworth and Claire Peterson of Oasis, Elaine Dekker and Dorothy Webb of Delta, and Adele Peterson. Keith and Kathryn Black and fam ily of Orem spent Saturday visiting their parents, the Blacks and the George Ekins. Mrs. Arvilla Swenson and Jimmie Talbot have been on the sick list this week. Arvilla has been confined confin-ed to bed with high blood pressure and Jim has had a bad case of the flu. Deon Talbot was home over the weekend with her family from Trade Tech at Provo. Ronlald Shumway left Monday to go to Calif. Linda Johnson, daughter of June and Wanda Johnson of Granger, formerly of Hinckley and James Howe have been married and are being honored at an open house in Granger Friday, Jan. 27th. Linda is a granddaughter of Mrs. Earl Johnson John-son of Sutherland. Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Dutson and family spent last weekend in East Ely visiting Colleen's parents, the Norval Carlings. The Clark Draper family of Price spent Saturday visiting their daugh ter and family, Valyn and Carl Dutson Dut-son and children. They returned home that evening. Luther Edwards and his wife and two sons visited at the homes of Alta Warnick and Enid Damron Sunday, Jan. 15th. Mr. and Mrs. Waldo Warnick and Mr. and Mrs. Carl A. Damron attend ed the funeral of their brother-in-law, James E. Hardie in Salt Lake Saturday, Jan. 21st. He was the husband of their sister, Helen. They had resided in San Francisco. Funeral Fun-eral services were held In San Fran Cisco also and he was buried in Salt Lake. Mrs. Erma Pugmire returned to her home In St. Charles, Idaho, Mon day after spending the past month with her sister, Mrs. Connie Webb. Mrs. Genevieve Chapman of Sterling Ster-ling is staying at the home of her brother, L.R. Swenson. Mrs. Mavis Hardy was in Fillmore Tuesday to a school meeting. Mrs. CleoneTalbot is back teaching teach-ing at the elementary school after a sick leave. We pre happy that Cleone's health is improved. Mr. and Mrs. Walter Manis and Mr. and Mrs. Duane Galli drove to Provo Thursday. Walter and Duane registered for classes in Lathe work at the Trade Tech Institute. Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Talbot went to Las Vegas Saturday to see their sons and families, Steve, Doreeh and three children, Michael and his wife and baby. Blaine Spendlove, Ted and Mary of Kaysville spent the weekend in Hinckley visiting with the Cluff Talbot family and other relatives and friends. A surprise party for Ray Brown's birthday was held Sunday at the home of Parry and Jeanne Taylor. Supper was served to the following: Keith and Beth Moody, Raymond and Zina Peterson, Max and Kathryn Kath-ryn Humphries, Parry and Jeanne and Ray and Beth. Happy birthday Mayor Brown from the people of Hinckley. Mr. and Mrs. Calvin Skeem and children Holly, Cody, Shauna and Guy of Draper visited with Evelyn's mother, Mrs. Alice Bliss Sunday. Mrs. Enid Damron was home from school at Cedar this weekend. Mr. and Mrs. Doug Spencer were in Salt Lake one day last week. Mr. and Mrs. Duane Galli and Mr. and Mrs. Ward Petersen attended a Lions Regional Meeting in Fillmore Fill-more Sunday. They enjoyed dinner with the Lions group at Cooper's Country Club and they visited the old State House during the afternoon. after-noon. Saturday, Jan. 21 a Millard-Des-eret Districts Cub Scouts Training meet was held at Fillmore. Cub-master Cub-master Verdell Bishop took a carload car-load over to the meet.
