Miss Paula Merle Simpson and David Arthur Hans were united in marriage Sept. 10, 1966 in rites performed per-formed in the Lynndyl L.D.S. Chapel, Chap-el, with Bishop Ben Stephenson officiating. of-ficiating. Following the wedding the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Bill Simpson of Lynndyl, honored the newlyweds at a reception in the Ward Cultural Hall. The young couple were feted at an Open House Monday, Sept. 12, 1906 at the home of the groom's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Peter A. Hans 1470 West Gth South, Salt Lake City, Utah. Attending the bride as maid of honor was Miss Beverly Bunker. Bridesmaids were Miss Renae Simpson, Sim-pson, Mrs. Judy Tomlin and Miss Alison Moody. Standing as best man was Gary Petersen, with Rick Simpson, Sim-pson, Dave Tomlin, Dale Roper and Wendell Nielson ushering. The bride was attired in a gown of white bridal satin, fitted to an Empire waistline, and trimed with imported re-embroidered lace to the full length of her floor-length dress. The finger-tip veil, caught in a tiara of tiny pearls, accented a flowing satin train. The gown's leng sleeves were delicately trimed with a scalloped lace edging. Her bouquet was cascading Tailsman roses, centered were orchids. An aunt of the bride, Mrs. Bess Thompson of Inglewood, Calif-made Calif-made and decorated the beautiful four-tiered wedding cake. The young couple are residing in Murray, Utah. ANN JEFFERY uates of Delta High School and are presently enrolled at the Brigham Young University. Lonnie has filled a mission for the LDS Church in the Southern Brazillian mission field. Wedding plans will be announced later. Greeting guests with the couple were their parents, Mr. and Mrs. T. A. McCormick and Mr. and Mrs. Morgan Howell, Mr. Parley Eldar, grandfather of the bride and Mrs. Annie Brinkerhoff, grandmother of of the groom. The bride was radiant in her gown of white erepe with lace and and a train of lace which fell from the shoulders. Her vein of sheerest bridal illusion fell from a crown of ciepe roses. She carried a bouquet of lavender carnations. Attending the bride were Sherrie Howell, sister of the groom and Cathy Callis-ter. They wc.-e gowned in identical floral sheaths on a background of lavender. Junior i bridesmaid w?ts little Miss Cynthia McCormick, niece of the bride. Standing s best man was Von Callister. Mary Lyman was in char-I char-I ge of the guest book. In charge of gifts were Golda Black, Ila. Mae , Overson, Ann Marie Day and Sylvia Finlinson. Stan Bradfield was emcee the program. Bruce Stephenson sang . "Falling in Love With You". He was , followed by Delene Skeem, cousin of the bride with a medley of songs on the accordian. Norma Watts, sister of the groom sang "I Love You Truly", accompanied by Lenore McCall. Suzanne Robertson gave a piano solo. Cathy Callister, Carla Church and Sylvia Finlinson sang. An original and humorous reading was given by Leona Anderson. Sue Ann Turner sang "Because". Loa Black read "A Bride's Prayer", a I poem sent to the bride by her trother and wife, Mr. and Mrs. Dale McCormick in Abilene, Texas. The program closed with Delene Skeem on the accordian. The young couple left Delta Tuesday Tues-day for Fort Sill, Oaklahoma where they will make their home while Sam is with the U. S. Army there. Lotion Auxiliary Hues Now Ihie The American Legion Auxiliary dues are due this month. Dues are now $3.00 for senior members and $2.00 for junior members. Conducting the membership i3 Membership Chairman Ruth Corry. Assisting are membership committee commit-tee members Loretta Needham and Cherie Morris. The auxiliary extends a cordial invitation to everyone to attend the "Meet Your Candidates" night, which is being co-sponsored with the Betah Rebekah Lodge Monday, October 10th, 8:00 p.. m. at Delta Elementary. All candidates on both the Democratic Demo-cratic and Republican tickets have been notified of the meeting. County Coun-ty Chairman N. S. Bassett(D) and Jarold Robinson (R) will be present to introduce their respective party candidates. The auxiliary has received notification notifi-cation from Republican candidate for U. S. Congress Sherman Lloyd that he will be unable to attend because of a previous speaking engagement. Honored for Typing Speed Patti Robinson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ben Robinson, Delta, Utah, Las been honored for achieving a typing speed of 63 w.p.m. at a special spe-cial awards assembly at Stevens Henager College, Salt Lake City. The announcement was made this week by J. M. Stevens, Execu tive Vice President and Director of the Salt Lake City college of Stevens, Ste-vens, Henager. j Students achieving outstanding performance in a particular subject are presented with a special awards certificate in recognition of their achievements. Miss Robinson is currently enroll-in enroll-in an executive secretarial course. She is a graduate of Delta High School,. STAKE MIA ROADSHOW The Stake MIA Traveling Roadshow Road-show is set to Tuesday, Oct. 11. The shows will be presented in Deseret Stake Center, Delta First Ward and Delta Second Ward. Nine wards are preparing outstanding ten to thirteen minute shows to be presented. There is no admission charge and the public is cordially ii.vited to attend. Couple Married Miss Susan Ashby and Gary Gardner exchanged nuptial vows recently in Salt Lake LDS Temple rites. Eldar Marion D. Hanks performed per-formed the ceremony. Mr. Gardner is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Evan G. Gardner of Delta. The bride is the daughter of M.r. and Mrs. Carl S. Ashby of this city. A wedding breakfast wras given later in the Sky Room of the "Y" Center in Provo by the parents of the groom. A reception the evening even-ing of the wedding was given in the Deseret Stake Cultural Hall honoring the newlyweds. Mrs. Harold (Sandra) Snow, sister of the groom, was the matron of honor.
