All the relatives from Hinckley and Delta were with us. We want to thank everyone who helped in any way as we surely appreciated all our friends and neighbors who called: the Relief Society and Primary Pri-mary who furnished the lunch after af-ter the services, .those who made floral tributes and those who brot food to our homes" and everything else that was done to help out. We want to offer our sympathy to .the faimly of Mrs. Fannie Max-field. Max-field. Leigh and Lois and family have lived in our ward all their married life and have been active in all organizations of our ward. Mrs. Maxfield had visited our Sunday Sun-day School and Sacrament meetings meet-ings many times. I'm sure we ail remember her as a very pleasant woman. Mr. Ray Smith. Rae Lynn and Grandmother Works were in Hold-en Hold-en Sunday to spend the afternoon and have dinner with Mr. and Mrs. Grant Stevens. Mr. and Mrs. Hampton Burke of Milford visited with Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Hardy Saturday. They were on their way home from Salt Lake. Mr. and Mrs. Kay Gardner of Orem were down for the Jr. Prom and to visit with the Gardners and Robisons. Mr. and Mrs. Max Robison are spending a few weeks in California visiting with Mr. and Mrs. LaVoy Robison and family. Mr. and Mrs. Dale Wood spent the weekend with the Iversons and the Woods. I think they attended the Jr. Prom as Shirley Rae was wearing a corsage. Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Walker and children, Kathy, Marie, Mark and Bryce of Salt Lake spent the week' end with Mr. and Mrs. Fay Walk er and family. Larry and William Gardner and William's son of Salt Lake spent the weekend with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. E. E. Gardner. They were here to help their father with his farm work. Mr. and Mrs. Rex Sparry spent the first part of last week visiting with their children in Salt Lake. They returned home Wednesday, bringing their granddaughter Jo-L'sia Jo-L'sia with them for a week's visit. Mr. and Mrs. L. L. Sperry were in Salt Lake Friday and Saturday on business. They are in the Navy. i Richard Shields and Mr. and Mrs. Boyd Spiker and daughter Lynn of Tooele visited Saturday with Mr. and Mrs. Bus Shields and family. Dan Iverson and Owen Steele of Dugway spent Sunday afternoon with the Brog Hopkins family. Mr Richard Munson ol Ely spent the weekend at the Ray Western home. He came to take Myrna and Ann home. They have been visiting in Delta and Salt Lake for a week. Donald Western spent the weekend week-end in Delta with his parents. Dwaine Jackson and Fred Works were home for June's funeral and stayed the weekend. Mai ne Cropper, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ladd Cropper of Reno, spent the weekend with grandparents, grandpar-ents, Mr. and Mrs. A. O. Gardner. Maline is going to school at the BYU in Provo. A birthday dinner was held in Salt Lake at the home of Pearl Jeffery, April 5th for their mother, Mrs. Adaline Jeffery. Those from here were Mr. and Mrs. Orvil Jeffery, Jef-fery, Mr. and Mrs. Eldro Jeffery and Mr. and Mrs. Irvin Jeffery; Mr. and Mrs. Oliver Tripp and Delora of Callao and Dr. and Mrs. Ileff Jeffery Jef-fery of Provo. In the afternoon, former for-mer Delta residents came to open house for Mrs. Jeffery. ' Pearl Jeffery. Martha Shanks and Sheryl Schlappi and a friend brot Mrs. Adaline Jeffery home to at tend the testimonial for Elder Bruce Jeffery who is leaving for a work mission for the LDS Church. Mr. and Mrs. Irvin Jeffery had a family dinner Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Olhrer Tripp and Delora spent the weekend in Delta and attended the testimonial for Bruce. Mrs. Carrie Black sends greetings from Salt Lake to all her friends and expects to be home soon. Students home from school that I saw were Jerry Huff, Delene Ash-by, Ash-by, Larry Odean,: Richard Dekker, and Robert Riding. Vera Stewart was at the Med Hawley home for the weekend. Mr. and Mrs. Bill Ashby and family fa-mily visited with Mr. and Mrs. M. H. Workman and with Mr. and Mrs. Dan Barfuss. A man never stands so tall' as when he stoops to help a boy Tom Best was taken to the Pay-son Pay-son Hospital Friday. He will have surgery Tuesday. We are all hoping hop-ing and praying he can soon be well and will be home with his family. fa-mily. Mrs. Irving Nielson is still hospitalized hospi-talized at Nephi. Her condition is improving and she may be able t6 come -home this week. Kristine Tolbert, 15-yr. old daugh ter of Mr. and Mrs. Dale Tolbert, suffered severe injuries Sunday when she fell from a horse. She was taken to the Payson hospital Sunday night by her parents. Cert ainly hope she will soon be able to come home, - Mr. and Mrs. Clair Overson of Pleasant Grove visited at the home of Clair's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Overson. Mr. and Mrs. Jay Simpson' and children of Provo visited at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Bill Simpson last Friday. Saturday, Jay and his wife went on to Las Vegas for a vacation, leaving their children here with Bill and Nada. Many of our young people attended at-tended the Jr. Prom at Delta High School last Friday night. Everyone seemed to have a good time and the decorations were 'beautiful. Judy Nielson of 'Lynndyl and Dehra Beckwith of Delta celebrated their 14th birthday Salurday nite in Delta at the Beckwith residence. About 25 girls were present. After the party they all went to the movies. It was an enjoyable evening even-ing for all. Mr. and Mrs. Aralda Jones and Mr. and Mrs. Dean Eatough went to Las Vegas for the weekend. I hear Dean is driving a new car. He must really have hit the jackpot. Mr. and Mrs. Lowell Wilkins went to Oak City Sunday to help celebrate the birthday of their granddaughter, Ellen Anderson. She visited with members of her husband's family in Garden Grove and Santa Ana. She reports she had a very nice time. Mrs. Ruth Kump of Axtell came to visit with her sister, Mrs. Verna Gardner. The two of them went to St. George where they visited with their father. They stayed over Sunday. A missionary farewell was held in our ward this past Sunday evening even-ing for Bruce Jeffery, son of Mr. and Mrs. Irvin Jeffery. Bruce is going go-ing to serve as a work missionary for the church. He will be in the East Central States. His parents took him to Salt Lake Sunday nite and early Monday morning he boarded a jet plane for Atlanta, Ga. Bruce's friend, Joyce Kohler, was here for his farewell. Other out of town visitors here for the farewell were Mr. and Mrs. Henry Kohler and two daughters, Midway; Mrs. Pearl Jeffery, Mrs. Martha Shanks and Mrs. Lola Fowlkes and three boys, Salt Lake; Mr. and Mrs. Cal Barlow, Bountiful; Mr. and Mrs. Oliver Tripp and Delora, Callao; Sheryl Schlappi and a friend from Salt Lake; and Bruce's grandmother, grandmoth-er, Mrs. Karen Hacking from Cedar Valley. His wife, Carol and their two-week two-week old son returned, to Logan with him Sunday. . ' Nancy Applegate's mother, Mrs. Maude Hubener of Rochester, New Hampshire has been staying with the Applegates for the past three weeks. She is leaving Thursday by train for California and from there she will go by plane to New Hampshire. Hamp-shire. Thayne's parents, Mr. and Mrs.: Applegate of Richfield came son. Did all of you notice the picture of Nephi Schwabb of Ely in the Sunday Church Section? He is pictured pic-tured with the Nevada LDS Stake Presidency. Nephi is- one of the counselors. He is a son-in-law of Mr. and Mrs. Louis Overson. Visiting at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Louis Overson last Sunday were Mr. and Mrs. W. E. (Curley and Alleen) MaTan of Bakersfield, Calif. Curley and Alleen lived here several years ago. They ran the pool hall and tavern here in Lynndyl. Lynn-dyl. Mr. and Mrs. Carl Benson and Sandra went to Salt Lake over the weekend to visit their son, Donald and family and other relatives. Colleen Nielson Fowler and child ren of Salt Lake spent the weekend with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Roy Nielson. Kathlynn Nielson is working work-ing in San Francisco, Calif. The following college kids were home from school over the weekend: week-end: Jane and Kay Nelson, from Logan; John Greathouse, from Cedar Ce-dar City, and Don Bradfield from Provo. High Councilman Lionel Taylor of Delta visited our ward Sunday for Priesthood and Sunday School, also Sacrament meeting. He was in charge of the meeting Sunday even ing. With him was Elder Dwaine Jackson, returned missionary from the Finnish Mission. They both gave interesting talks. Piano duet by Julie Nelson and Adelle Abeg- glen. Mrs. Jean Tolbert was released re-leased as Manual Counselor in the MIA and Ellen Best was put in as the new Manual Counselor. Hamilton McCullough of Delta and a member of the Sunday School Stake Board attended Sun day School in our ward Sunday. Tuesday evening the MA are having a family carnival in our ward. After which there will be side-shows and refreshments. Next Saturday, April 18th, has been proclaimed "Clean-Up Day" by our Mayor Reed Nielson. Carl Benson is in charge. Let's all pitch in and get rid of these old dead weeds that are on the sidewalks and;. by the fences and some of those unsightly dead trees. Friday evening the Jr. High Fol lies will be presented in Delta by the Junior High Chorus. Those participating par-ticipating firom here are Renae Simpson, LaWrene Bradfield and Jackie Nielson.
