Show FIRST WARD AREA HEWS BRIEFS LEON A WORKS Visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Newell Iverson for the deer hunt last week were Mr. and Mrs. Dale Wood and Mr. and Mrs. Elwin Dutson and family of Salt Lake. Mr. and Mrs. Dale Wood were also al-so down this week for the pheasant hunt. The Sunshine ladies met at the home of Mrs. Fontella Bishop last Thursday where they enjoyed seeing see-ing some of the things she had brot home from her mission and her other travels the last few years. There were ten members present and three guests. Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Hardy and Vivian were in Cedar City last Wednesday Wed-nesday where they visited with Mrs. Elwa Hardy, wife of the late Gene Hardy. They went to Milford Thursday morning and visited with Mr. and Mrs. Luther Hardy and other members of the family. Mr. and Mrs. Rex Sperry were in Nephi several days last week where they met with Mr. Sperry's brothers and sisters for a family reunion. It had been a long time since the family had all been together. Mr. and Mrs. Delbert Crapo of Fillmore and Mrs. Grant Stevens and Mrs. Jay Stevens of Holden visited Friday with Mrs. Blanch Works. Visitors at the Brog Hopkins home for the pheasant hunt were Mr. and Mrs. Jim Ashton and Shan-on Shan-on Iverson of Salt Lake, Mr. Lawrence Law-rence Ashton and George Mattin-sen Mattin-sen of American Fork and Dan Iverson Iv-erson of Dugway. Donald Western and Janice Gers-tner Gers-tner of Salt Lake spent the weekend week-end with Mr. and Mrs. Ray Western. West-ern. Phil Ger9'.ner is working at the Veterans Hospital and was unable un-able to come. Mr. and Mrs. Garn Sperry and Mr. Ray Barnes and a son-in-law were down for the pheasant hunt and visited at the L. L Sperry home. Weekend vis'tors at the home of Mrs. Carrie Black were Mr. and Mrs. N. C. Black of American Fork, Wilford Larson and Harold Black of Salt Lake and Mr. and Mrs. Soares (The'.ma Black). They also visited with other members of the Black family. Mr. Quinton Hatch and son Steven Ste-ven of Tooele were here to hunt pheasants and visited with Mrs. June Smith and Raelynn: Visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. A. 0. Gardner for the weekend were Serge Campell and son Paul of Murray, Mrs. Clayton Smith of Salt Lake and Harriet Campell of Ogden. We are sorry to hear of Don Poul- son getting hit with some shots in his eye. He was taken to Salt Lake Saturday by Bishop and Mrs. Arthur Arth-ur Jensen and is in the hospital there. We all wish him the best of luck. We hope McKay Church will soon be out of the hospital. McKay was injured in the football game Friday with Millard. They played so hard. Elder Dwaine Jackson who has been serving a LDS mission for the past 2 years in Finland was released re-leased Nov. 4th. He will tour for 11 days before boarding the Queen Elizabeth at South Hampton to sail for home. He will land in New York Nov. 21 and leave New York Nov. 23 at 6:00 p.m. by jet and arrive in Salt Lake at 8:45. It seems such a long time since he left. I'm sure he has had some real experiences being so close to Russia. I Craig Hardy went to Provo with Mrs. Dick Morrison, David and Ste-, phen Friday night where Craig and i Stephen and Pamela and Kathy Fin; linson attended the Drubech Concert Con-cert at the BYU Fieldhouse. I Mr. and Mrs. Alden Hardy and family and Mr. and Mrs. Michael! Hardy of Magna visited in Delta! Friday night with Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Hardy and family. They were on their way to Milford to visit with their folks. Here to see the new baby daughter daugh-ter of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Snow's receive her name of Kathleen were Mr. and Mrs. Dale Estes and two children of Salt Lake and a brother, broth-er, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas James and fam'.ly of Provo. (Mrs. Snow's father fa-ther and mother are on a mission to Australia). They all stayed and had dinner before they returned to their homes Sunday night. Mr. and Mrs. George Dutson had their baby named Sunday in Sacrament Sac-rament meeting. Here to be with the Dutsons were Mr. and Mrs. Don Porter and children of Lyman, Wyo. Mr. and Mr& Jim Meinburg and Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Moody and son Ricky of Salt Lake spent the weekend in Delta with Mr. and Mrs. Rod Shields and Nola. Visiting with Nolo Shields over the weekend was Nola Witaker of Kanosh who is attending school at CSU. Mr. and Mrs. Rod Shields y'sited a week ago in Salt Lake with their children and also with a sister and brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Jim Boyles. Mrs. Clara Bennett and Sandra Cook were in Ogden a week ago and brot Mrs. Chester Jacobs down for a visit. Chester had been here since the deer season opened visiting visit-ing with Mr. and Mrs. David Jacobs. Ja-cobs. Mr. and Mrs. Seth Jacobs of Ogden were in Delta for the pheasant phea-sant hunt and to take his parents back to Ogden. Mr. Gera'd Watts of Las Vegas came to Delta last Tuesday to take his family home. They had been visiting with Mr. and Mrs. P. W. Watts and Mr. and Mrs. Morgan Howell. Hope all the men got their limit and are happy. Marlene Bogh, who is attending school in Salt Lake, spent the weekend in Delta visiting her parents, par-ents, Mr. and Mrs. Nels Bogh. Norma H. Sherwood of Nephi visited vi-sited in Delta last week with Mrs. Deona Black and other friends here in Delta. Mr. and Mrs. Doug Robison and family of Provo and Evan Robison of Salt Lake visited over the weekend week-end with Mr. and Mrs. E. E. Robison Robi-son and Paul. Mr. and Mrs. George Church, Mr. and Mrs. Shine Church, Sarah Fin- linson, Mr. and Mrs. Ned Church Wally Church and Deona Black attended at-tended funeral services in Salt Lake last week for Dorothy Church, wife of George Church who is a son and brother to the Church family here. "Birthday Greetings" this week to Christine Sorenson, Bernard Owens, James Corry, Kent Miller, C. L. Bennett, Kent Bishop, Scott Mecham, Lawrence Bunker and little Cynthia Cox. Clarence Schriever and three sons Ross, John and Glen of Sprlngville visited with Mr. and Mrs. Archie Barben over the weekend. Also vis-i.ing vis-i.ing with the Barbens were Mr. and Mrs. Verland Willden and family fam-ily of Granger. Mr. and Mrs. Shirl Black vis'ted with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Doc Black over the weekend. Mr. and Mrs. Harold Field, Faye, Lynn and Don of Roy visited in Delta Del-ta over the weekend with their daughter, Jean Harris and family. Sacrament meeVng Sunday was held right after Sunday School. Douglas Harold Harris was confirmed con-firmed a member of the church by his grandfather, Harold Field. Floyd J. Losee by his father, Cecil Losee and Douglas Craig Sorenson by his father, Wayne Sorenson. Mr. and Mrs. Otho Buckley and family of Panguitch spent the weekend in Delta with friends here. Dr. Iteff Jeffery and daughter, Mrs. Paul Tripp and son visited in Delta Saturday and Sunday with their mother and grandmother, Mrs. Adaline Jeffery and other members of the family. I saw a former member of the First Ward working in the Quality Market th's week. Mr. and Mrs. Karl Jeffery and family have moved mov-ed back and are living in the Third Ward. Mr. Archie Sear'.e of Bountiful, Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Searle of Salt Lake and Mr. and Mrs. Don Searle and family of Provo spent the weekend in Delta with Mr. and Mrs. Delbert Searle. The men all hunted pheasants. Ronnie Gardner who has been in the service was released about two weeks ago and arrived in Delta last Wednesday to visit with his parents, E. E. Gardner. Mrs. Ange'ine Mecham of Tropic spent two days last week with her sis'.er and husband, Mr. and Mrs. E. E. Gardner. Remember the First Ward Supper and Bazaar and Rummage Saturday, Satur-day, Nov. 9 at 6:30 p.m. Mr. and Mrs. Renn Goulding and family spent the weekend visit'.ng with Mr. and Mrs. Fay Walker and family of Delta and with Mr. and Mrs. Nels Petersen and family of Hinckley. Mr. and Mrs. Max Chns'ensen of Kearns came to Delta to take Mrs. Doolin back with them. Mrs. Doolin had been in Delta a week getting her home r"eady to rent. Mr. and Mrs. Jim Nickle of Salt Lake spent the hunting weekend in Delta with Mr. and Mrs. James Nickle. Vis'tors at the Clark Draper home for the pheasant hunt were Mr, Glen Elking' on and two boys Bryce and Blair and Don Bryan of Tooele. Mi', ad Mrs. Eldon Fullmer and two chi.ren of Salt Lake, Mr. and Mrs. Bud Fullmer and two children of Bountiful, and Mr. and Mrs. James Bowlden and children of Holiday spent the last two hunting weekends in Delta visiting and hunting wi.h Mr. Joe Fullmer and Mr. and Mrs. Roger Bliss and fam ily. Mr. Morris Pack of Whittier, Calif. was up to go hunting with Eldon Sorenson. There fre a group of ix men that go every year. This same group has been going for 25 years.
