Mrs. Aul'ne Jeffery and family of Provo spent Saturday and Sunday Sun-day with Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Jeffery Jef-fery and Mr. and Mrs. Orvil Jeffery. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Kent, Jr., of Salt Lake City, spent a few days with his sister, Mrs. Eathel Skeem. Mr. Floyd Hardy of Delta has spent his spare time removing the railroad houses that he bought. It is quite a big job, but it will cer-1 tainly improve the crossing. It was difficult to see if a train was com-' ing. I Mr. and Mrs. Martin Ludwig and family have moved to Delta. They bought the home of Mr. and Mrs. Dale Pearson in Delta Third Ward. Mr. and Mrs. Pearson moved into the recently purchased home of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Long. Oasis Ward will miss the Ludwig Lud-wig family but we extend our best wishes to them in their move. Mr. and Mrs. Howard Roundy were recent Salina visitors.' Coleen Gillen was .surprised last week when her friends gave her a birthday party. Twenty girls were in attendance. Mrs. Funk of Logan is spending a few weeks with her daughter, Mrs. Alfred Stanworth. Mrs. Funk is in her 90's and enjoys extremely good health. She attended Sacrament Sacra-ment meeting Sunday evening. Mrs. Hutchings, who has lived with Mr. and Mrs. Clark Bishop for the past few years has moved to a Midvale rest home. Mrs. Eleanor Nielson, and Mrs. Lucille Nielson, both have the casts off their broken legs, and are able to get around some, but still have to use crutches. We will be happy to see them well and running a round like they did before their ac cidents. Saturday morning the boy scouts and cub scouts from Lynndyl and Leamington, under the supervision of Aralda Jones, Nola and Earl Greathouse and Grant Nielson, h ked to the top of Fool Creek peak. They cooked their dinner in fail, saw several head of deer and had a wonderful time, until on the way down, Nola Greathouse turn ed her ankle and fell, breaking her I leg in two places. There wtll be a farewell testi monial for David Anderson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Rulon Anderson next Sunday. He is going to the Central Atlantic States Mission. Mr. and Mrs. Don Johnson took Shauna to Provo to see the dentist on Saturday. Mrs. Hansen, mother of Mavis Bennett, of Logan, was here to spend the weekend with the Jay Bennetts. Rhoda Jackson is in Moses Lake, man Johnson, of Sutherland, with them the past week while Tilman and Virginia made a business trip to California and Idaho. Mr. and Mrs. William Overson received word of a new grandson, born in Orem to Myron and Ellen Overson Fraizer. The new baby has one older brother. Mrs. Overson went to Orem Monday to assist in the care of the new baby. Mrs. Lucille Johnson went to Salt Lake over the weekend and visited with her daughter, Joan and family. Visiting at the Lowell Wilkins home over the weekend, were En-la En-la and Junior Baird and children from Richfield, Barbara Anderson and children, from Oak City. Linda Wilkins went to Richfield with the Bairds for a couple of weeks. Jane Nelson and Lanny Wiley, who are going to school in Provo, were home over the weekend. Mrs. Francis Tolbert of Delta, spent Sunday at the home of her son, Dale and family, seeing her new granddaughter for the first time. Sidney Dalton and Dixie Merrell, from Delta, spent the weekend with Judy and Phillis Nielson. The Timmons have returned to their home here in Sutherland after af-ter being in California where Mr. Timmons has received treatment for the burns he received last sum mer. Mrs. Berniece Matson of Fort Worth, Texas, spent the weekend of conference with Mr. and Mrs. Ken Porter. They became acquaint ed when Ken and JuVene worked in Fort Worth. They took her back to Salt Lake on Monday. I would appreciate people phon ing their news in. I miss so many! Saturday night from Salt Lake. She came to wish her father a happy birthday, and to attend the Gold and Green Ball. She left for Salt Lake Sunday afternoon in that terrific wind storm. Hope she arrived ar-rived O.K. Mr. and Mrs. Carl Benson went to Salt Lake and Provo, over the weekend. Dan and Shirley Sherrif Roberts, and daughter, Dana, of Wendover, were visitors in our ward Sunday. They are buying Brother Hogan's home, and we are all hoping they will come back to our ward when school is out In the spring. The town board, under the direction di-rection of Mayor Reed Nielson, is spending a lot of time and money fixing recreational facilities for the townspeople. The ball field has been planted with lawn, which is coming up pretty and green. Black topping has been hauled in and spread out for a tennis court and basketball standards. Playground equipment and a fire place will al so be installed. This will be en joyed by all, and also make our community more attractive o the tourists. Mr. and Mrs. Aralda Jones and boys went to Tintic, Sunday, to see Dale and Lamara Jones' new baby and doughnuts for our snack bar; and especially the ones who came to dance from our ward and surrounding sur-rounding wards Thanks, thanks, so much, your support was greatly great-ly appreciated. High councilman, Walter Ekins, from Hinckley, visited our ward Sunday. He attended Priesthood meeting and Sunday School. He also al-so brought the program for Sacrament Sacra-ment meeting. David Crafts, recent ly returned from an LDS mission in England, gave an interesting talk; Susan Reeves played the piano; pi-ano; Mr. Ekins talked, also. Prayers were offered by Herbert Abegglen and Eddie Dutson. Other visitors were Mr. and Mrs. Elfred Reeves and Margaret Ekins. After meeting, fireside was held for the youth of our ward. Jean Bird and Candy Shields, of Delta, spent Monday night with Valarie Talbot. Myrtle Nielson, of Leamington, visited at the Earl Greathouse home Monday. Happy birthday this week to Brent Christensen, Janet Swabb, Lucille Overson, Phillis Nielson and Billie Nielson.
