Show DESERET MRS. '.DNA CHRISTENSEN Canyonlands Paintings In Washington The program in Sacrament meeting meet-ing Sunday evening was very good. Principal Rosslyn Eppich, .of the DeUa Jr. K.gh School had the program pro-gram n c.iarge and was one of the speakers. Other speakers, all members of the jr. high faculty, ( were Keith Black, Ben Robison and : Karrell Walker.Their talks were all ' very interesting and gave us some-l thing to think about. The special musical number was a vocal duet by Lynette Riding and Laura Moody, Moo-dy, accompanied on the piano by Nadean Iverson. Mrs. Black and Mrs. Walker came with their hus-bands. hus-bands. We are all concerned these days with how Vernell Baker is doing since her accident. Latest reports seem to be that she is getting a-long a-long pretty well We surely hope her hip soon heals and she will be able to return home. ; Harmon Dewsnup went to Pioche, Nev., Friday morning to help move Lyle and Anna Lee Stanworth and children in to Deseret. The Stan- worths sold their home in Pioche and Lyle will run Harm's farms this summer. We certainly welcome this family to our ward. It is a joy to nave a lamiiy move in for a change, we have had so many move out the past few years. Mrs. Luella Western went to Salt Lake Monday afternoon to be with her son Tony, who had his leg op erated on Tuesday morning. They were able to come home Wednes day. Tony has his leg in a cast but is able to get around with the aid of crutches. . Mr. and Mrs. Jack Webb and Mr. and Mrs. Spencer Webb spent Tues day in Salt Lake City. Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Bennett spent most of the week in Richfield Rich-field visiting Mr. and Mrs. LaMont Bennett and family. They went ov er Wednesday morning and came home Saturday afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. A. T. Black went to American Fork on Tuesday, return ing by way of Tooele where they spent the night at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Verle Black. Mr, and Mrs. Clayton Palmer returned re-turned home Friday after being away from home for nearly a week. Mr. and Mrs. Vivian Deardon i visited with Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Warner on Thursday. Vivian had just been released from the hospital hospi-tal in Salt Lake and they were on their way home to Garr.son. , Visiting at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Cleve Rowley over the weekend week-end were Mr. and Mrs. Grant Humphries Hum-phries and children, of Salt Lake. It is marvelous the way Grant bounces back after each serious illness he has. They say you can't keep a good man down so Grant must be a real good man. ' Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Warner spent Friday in Orem visiting with Mr. . and Mrs. Claude Warner. j Mr. Lafe Olson visited over the! weekend at the home of his daugh-1 ter and husband, Mr. and Mrs. Spencer Webb.' Visitors at the . Cuman Cropper home were Mr. and Mrs. Larry Brower. Their aunt, Neva Cropper, accompanied them down and visit ed with her brothers and the fa milies. Ormus Dutson is home again after af-ter spending the past week. in California Cali-fornia taking care of his bees. Gary Dutson and LaVoy Erickson were home from Snow College to spend the weekend with their folks. Eldon Erickson was home too and I understand he celebrated his birthday Sunday. "Happy Birthday, Eldon." ( Mr. and Mrs. Bob Torrens left) Thursday to go meet their son Douglas who is being released from his mission. It will be a nice trip 1 for them and they will be happy to see their boy. Our ward is planning the annual Easter Outing for next Saturday. It will be to the sand hills, if the weather permits. Everyone should go and have a good time. Visiting at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Verdon Davis over the weekend week-end were Mr. and Mrs. Dick Davis and three little girls from Grants-! ville. They returned to their home Monday. Mr. and Mrs. George Cropper were, down from Provo to spend the weekend with relatives and friends. . It required many stitches. stit-ches. While at the hospital, someone some-one called in and asked who the baby from Lynndyl was that had been badly cut. The boys all got a big kick out of th'.s as Jim is 17, the oldest child of Mr. and Mrs. Howard Nielson, and anything but a baby. He has been running the 880 yard race in all the track meets and winning, but due to the injury he was unable to run in Ephraim last Satrday. We certainly hope his hand heals fast and will soon be as good as new. Mr. Louis Overson was ill last Marine Corps 120-Day 120-Day Delay Program This year's high school seniors have taken advantage of the Marine Ma-rine Corps 120-day delay program to such an extent that no more can be accepted to enlist prior to graduation, grad-uation, scheduling their reporting date during June. However, there are still a few openings for the end of May and during July. This according ac-cording to MSgt. Bill Graham, Ma-r Ma-r ne Corps recruiter for the Delta area, located in room 1 of the Pro vo Post Office Building. "High "school seniors who graduate gradu-ate in May or June can still enlist when June comes around," says MSgt. Graham, "but they cannot be assured of a place in the Corps. And, of course, they will not have the reserve pool time in grade. This reserve pool time is counted toward their first pay raise and promotion." Mr. and Mrs. Ward Stanworth and family visited last week with his mother Ethel M. Stanworth. While they were here their oldest daughter, Ellen, fell off a horse and skinned her face. Earl and Irene Stanworth spent Wednesday in Salt Lake. It sure seems lonesome without Mrs. Baker in the neighborhood. from the hospital. Mrs. Lawrence Bradfield received a phone call from Principal Ray Johnson of Leamington school, Friday, Fri-day, saying that LaWrene had been hit in the side with a baseball bat and to come to school and get her. Thinking it may be serious, she was taken to Nephi where Dr. Steele examined her and took X-rays X-rays to see if any ribs were cracked or fractured. He found it was just a bad bruise, but it was very pain-fl pain-fl for several days.
