This may be true in some aspects but after seeing the num'oer of men wno turned out to the "Santa Visitations" under the' Jaycees supervision the other ev-' ening, I feel that there are still; a large number of men left in the; world who will sti1! do something "For Free." These men are "old faithfuls" along with new recruits each year, who are willing to give of their time and energy, stay away from their families on Christmas Eve, that all the children in town might have a "visit from Santa." Such men as - to mention a few N. S. Bassett, John Day, Floyd Hardy the list is too numerous to mention all, have each year given giv-en their time at Christmas to this wonderful cause. To these men and their cause I am thankful. j To Paul Cahoon, Jaycee in charge of this project for the past few years, and all other organizations organiza-tions such as the Odd Fellows, the Lio;M Kiwanis, American Legion, who are dedicated to the betterment better-ment of their community and assistance as-sistance of their fellowmen I am thankful. For it is only through these organizations that we get so much of our improvements in our city, state, and government. For all oC these organizations are ."non-profit" organizations and the only monies that they have to operate on are the dues from their members and profit making projects that they have undertaken, undertak-en, the proceeds of which, are in turn spent on such activities as these, which we all benefit by. Thus, it is my firm belief that we should get behind any of these organizations and help them to the utmost in any of their worthy projects. To the Delta Wards, City, and Mr. Otis Walch, who have volunteered volun-teered to put up the monies for this Christmas Activity, I feel extremely ex-tremely thankful, as it is only through such public spiritedness that such activities are able to be performed. I, like so many millions of others, oth-ers, am thankful for the opportunity opportuni-ty of living in America, the land of the free, to work, live, and worship wor-ship as I please. Nothing comes without a price, hence taxation, but even for these I am thankful. It's small insurance to pay to continue con-tinue to live in this wonderful land with such marvelous people and abundant opportunities. Where else on earth can a person become be-come so deeply engrossed in debt and yet know that through his own initiative and willpower, be able to pay his debtor without going into a state of servitude? My prayer is that people may continue to live with the welfare of others in mind, and through service to others find the true joy of living and the r;'h rewards that our God has promised.
