TO THE EDITOR Dear Sirs: I have had the pleasure of reading your paper for the past several weeks and was particularly interested in the column by Dick Morrison. Although I find this column col-umn very interesting and containing contain-ing some good thought it is certainly certain-ly very biased and narrow in scope. "Why a good newspaper will allow its pages to be used to exploit the candidacy of a candidate to this extent is hard to understand. Mr. Morrison warfly condems the mud slinging of both major candidates can-didates in one breath and in the next breath puts himself in the same category. It's the old story of the pot calling the kettle black. To be specific quote he said, "Carvel Mattson is a second rate attorney and then again he is referring to him as an egghead; a person of spurious intellectual pretensions. Carvel Mattson is a respected member mem-ber of the bar association and received re-ceived as many votes as any candidate can-didate could have received against Watkins who was much better known. Again he refers to the highly respected Henry Aldous Dixon Dix-on as insipid. Not to mention the derogatory remarks at Watkins and Moss. Mr. Morrison even has to drag Governor Clyde into his discussion, Does he not know that these conditions con-ditions at the prison have admittedly admit-tedly existed for more than six years and no doubt aggravated by the unwise if not stupid money policy of the fairy godfather, J. Bracken Lee. Mr. Morrison has some strahga bed fellows. A few weeks ago he extolled the virtues of Vice Pres-idnt Pres-idnt Nixon to the sky, yet can see nothing but evil in the men that Mr. Nixon is supporting. ' Apparently there must be a little merit in both Mr. Watkins and Mr.. Dixon or Mr. Morrisons idol, Vice President Nixon wouldn't come to Utah to speak in their behalf. I am not a Republican, but I do believe that all the candidates must have a few good qualities and that whoever who-ever gets elected we will go ori paying texes just the same. I well rmember Mr. Lee talking of economy econ-omy in government before he was electd Govenor for the first time. I also remember that one of the TIIAIIK YOU Millard County Voters for your loyal support Nov. 4 Your interests are my interests on the MILLARD COUNTY COMMISSION MELVIII J. Certainly a men who knows so much more than President Eisen hower and others serving our gov' ernment shouldn't be wasting his time, working for Mr. Lee, ..but should be back in Washington himself him-self so that all the people could receive the benefit of his great wisdom and statesmanship. ! .
