We had a demonstration on sewing on buttons by Susan Beckwith and one on darning by Jean Taylor. We also started our fringed scarves, which we are making. Refreshments were served to six members. Jean Taylor, reporter 8 Utensils The 8 Utensils met at the home of Dora Rose. The time was spent making muffins. Kathy Johnson gave a demonstration on shredding carrots and cheese. Mr. and Mrs. Jim Birrell of Denver. Den-ver. .Colorado, made a short visit in Delta Tuesday with their sister and husband, Mr. and Mrs. Frank S. Beckwith. George for Mr. and Mrs Dick Shurtliff last Saturday. Mr. Don Hatton of Kanosh, is a visitor at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Damron. Mr., and Mrs. Marion Dillenbeck returned Sunday night from a trip to Los Angeles where they visited Marion's brother. Mr. Dillenbeck recently underwent surgery in the Delta hospital. Hugh J. Judd was thrown from his horse and dragged last week. Hugh J. was riding in the west hills, a snake coiled around his horse's foot, the horse became excited, ex-cited, the saddle cinch was loose and Hugh's foot became tangled in a rope and he was dragged. He was bruised and scratched but luckily not hurt seriously. Mrs. Leona Allen of Layton visited visi-ted from Tuesday through Thursday Thurs-day with her sister-in-law, Bertha Love, and sons. Bertha spent the next five days visiting in Salt Lake City and Bountiful. Mr. and Mrs.. Meldon Mcintosh of Sulphur Dale, spent the weekend week-end in Hinckley with relatives. Mr., and Mrs. Don Mcintosh and two daughters of Salt Lake spent Saturday and Sunday in Hinckley. Mr. and Mrs.. Keith Black, the former Kathryn Eklns, of Provo, spent Sunday with Mr., and Mrs. George Ekins. Blaine Theobald,, son of Mr. and Mrs. Fay Theobald was thrown from his horse Saturday while "Mustanging" out west. Blaine was in the hospital until Monday. Amelia Jane Cahoon is attending Summer school at the B.Y.U. Mr. and Mrs.. Stanley Knight and children of Salt Lake spent a few days with Mrs.. Knight's parents, par-ents, Mr. and Mrs.. Fay Theobald. Sebrina Ekins and Angle Pratt spent Tuesday in Provo. Melvin Hepworth spent Monday - Checked used trucks- MOTOR - DELTA, it V .11 STR-UCIIT B now in Spanish Fork on business.. Grace Warnick is representing Unit 117 at Girl's State. The Hinckley M-Men and Gleaner Glea-ner Girls held a roller skating party Tuesday night. Refreshments were a sack lunch. Committee: June Hepworth, president M-Men; Carma Swensen, president of the Gleaner Girls. The ward show will be; "Dawn at Socarro", with Rory Calhoun and Piper Laurie. Some of the town people who attended June Conference at Salt Lake were: George and Sebrina Ekins, Mrs.. Lula Cropper, Mrs. May Pratt, Mr. and Mrs. Duane Galli, lone Christensen, Betty Jane Morris, Mr. and Mrs. Victor Terry and family and the following six who took part in the dance festival festi-val at the U. stadium: Joycene Spencer, Kaye Hardy, Janith Bishop, Bis-hop, Jim Meimberg, Carl Talbot and Phil Bennett. Mrs. Belva Morris spent Wednesday Wednes-day at the B.Y.U. attending P.G.A. work shop. Darrell Allred and wife Birdie Lou and children, Lee Ann and Michael arrived home Wednesday night after spending 4 years in the Air Force. He was stationed at San Antonio, Texas, the full time. They are living in the Morris apartments and plan to stay till fall when Darrell plans to attend the B..Y.U. Mrs. Beth Brown and daughter Raylene, and Mrs. Cheryl Hilton and daughter DeAnn, attended the Moody reunion at Lagoon, Saturday. Satur-day. Mrs.. Clo Hilton entertained at a dinner party June 10th, in honor of her husband Hugh's birthdey. Dinner was served to Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Hilton, Mr. and Mrs. Darrell Allred and children, Mr. and Mrs. Dean Hilton and daughter DeAnn, Margene Hilton Verl and Gerry Jensen, Delta; and Douglas Green (a grandson), Salt Lake City. Mrs. Elden Hurst and children spent the past week at Lehman's Cave. Mr. Hurst is working at the 60. Lunch was served on the lawn. Bertha, hostess; members present: Ruth Talbot, Angie Pratt, Vie Robinson, Arvilla Workman, Lois Wilson, Belva Bel-va Morris, Thora Petersen, Dorothy Damron, Ruth Robinson, Arvilla Swensen, Nina Mecham, and Beryl Hardy. Guests Erma Cropper, Clara Stewart, Roma Ekins and Grayce won by Nina, first; Vie, second; low Arvilla Swensen and Grayce Pace, guest. Wayne and Kitty Ireland and children, Kathy and Ward of Ely, Nevada spent the weekend with relatives in Hinckley and Delta. They spent one day In Flowell with the Ree Brinkerhoffs. Lars Bishop, Lowry Bishop, Mont Palmer and Vera Bishop drove to Salt Lake for the M.I.A. dance festival at the U. of U. Evan Western of Logan spent Wednesday with his parents, Mr. and Mrs.. Alma Western. Evan is employed at Dugway and plans to move to Dugway soon. Home from Dugway over the weekend were Lafe Nielson, Milo Bishop, Helen Black, and Heber Bishop. Friday Mr- and Mrs. Elford (Tuey) Reeve and Susan drove to Salt Lake to take Maxlne. Maxlne started school Monday in the L.D. S. Business College. Deola Bliss, daughter of Mr. and Mrs.. Earl Bliss of Garfield, spent a week at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Marion (Tarn) Davis. Sunday Earl came down for Deola and took Carolyn Davis to Garfield for a week with them. Mr., and Mrs. Arthur Spendlove and son, Dennis, of Ogden spent Sunday night with their mother, Mrs.. Emma Spendlove, on their way to Las Vegas. They spent Tuesday with her on their return trip. John Marlowe Nielson and sons David and Stephen, and friend, Jimmy Roberts, all of Salt Lake City drove to Hinckley, picked up Marlowe's two nephews, Eddie and Gary Morris.. They drove to Bry-ce's Bry-ce's Canyon, Zion's, Kaibab forest and Kanab. They camped out, cooked coo-ked all their own meals and did a lot of hiking. They returned home Saturday. Sacrament meeting Sunday eve was under the direction of the High Council. Max Johnson, Delia Johnson and Richard Dewsnup were the speakers. Carmen Rose sang: "Hold Thou My Hand", and "I Walked Today Where Jesus Walked". She was accompanied by Manon Erickson. The Ward Choir sang "High on th Mountain Tops", "In Remembrance of Thy Suffering", Suffer-ing", and I Have Work Enough To Do". Garden Club Hinckley Garden Club met Monday Mon-day at the ward recreation center; cen-ter; hostesses, Lois Wilson, Arvilla Swensen and Arvilla Workman. For roll call each member named a variety of rose. Verl Jacobson of Oak City talked on "planting, pruning and rose care", he brought with him several sever-al varieties of roses and mock orange.. or-ange.. He gave a demonstration on how to take slips from roses for planting under glass. Each member was given several rose and mock orange slips for planting. Verl also brought a large bouquet of huge red poppies and several dozen gorgeous peonies of different varieties, var-ieties, which he presented to the members. Members present: Minnie Talbot, Rosa Dutson, Sebrina Ekins, Lula Cropper, Mary Pratt, Fanny Lee Hilton, Gladys Carter, Alice Bliss, Beryl Hardy,, Lois Wilson, Marlene Bliss, Arvilla Swensen, Bessie Hardy, Har-dy, Angie Cahoon, Arvilla Workman Work-man and. Beth Judd.. All members are urged to attend at-tend Garden Club Convention at Fillmore, Saturday. If you can go please contact Sebrina Ekins. If you can't drive your car or if unable un-able to drive ways will be provided by other members. If you can go be at the church Saturday no later than 9 a. m. Let's support our president and attend this state convention. The University of Utah chorus, under the direction of John Marlowe Mar-lowe Nielson, wrote a letter of appreciation ap-preciation to all who helped make their visit here so pelasant. They said it would long be remembered and asked if they could give a repeat performance for us next year. Mr. Nielson paid expenses for 8 or 10 cars to come down and for refreshments at the Sand Hill party for about 100 people. We certainly express our thanks and appreciation to Marlowe and are mighty proud he is our own native son, born and raised in Hinckley. Thank you, Marlowe. Mr. and Mrs. Calvin Warnick of North Ogden visited here Sunday. Sun-day. He is working on irrigation projects. Mr. and Mrs. Marion Warnick War-nick of Gaineville, Florida, is engaged en-gaged in teaching and research in the university.. He is also a member mem-ber of the branch presidency. Their mother, Mrs. Grace Warnick, of Delta,, visited with Mr. and Mrs. Waldo Warnick. Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Little from Henderson, Nevada, and children, Shauna, Ricky and Randy,, arrived in Delta a week ago. Mr. Little returned to Henderson and Mrs. Little and the children visited her parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. Le Grand Law for a week,, and then went to Wendover to spend a week with Mr. Little's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Wind. Mr. and Mrs. Leon Theobald and children, Linford, Dean and Joan, from Boise, Idaho, visited during the week with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. LeGrand Law at Delta, Del-ta, and Mr. and Mrs. Carl G. Theobald Theo-bald at Hinckley, spend two weeks with her husband who is in the Air Force. She left one child with each grandma. Captain and Mrs. Simiskey of Bellville, Illinois, and three children, child-ren, Patrick, Rosemary and Jared, arrived last night at the home of Mrs. Simiskey's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Allan Keller. Capt. Simiskey leaves Thursday for San Francisco where he will be sent to Okinawa for two years. Mrs. Simiskey and the children will stay with the Kellers until August, when they plan to join the Captain in Okinawa.
