Show Say Wedding Vows June 10 June 10 is the wedding day for Miss Joy Grace Brown, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Raymond C. Brown, Las Vegas, Nev., and Ralph W. Morrison, Jr. son of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Morrison of Delta. The wedding will take place at 8 p. m. at the First Presbyterian Church of Las Vegas,, with the Rev. Walter W. Hanne presiding. The bride-elect is a graduate of Westminster College, where she ma.lored in business adminstration and was active in dramatics. Mr. Morrison attended the University Uni-versity of Utah after graduation from Delta High School, and is now studying to be a draftsman at Westminster. His parents and brother, Willis Morrison, will leave for Las Vegas next week to attend the wedding, and Willis will stand as best man for his brother. Plan Wedding In L.ae Summer Mr. and Mrs. Brog Hopkins of Delta are announcing the engagement engage-ment of their daughter, Irene, to Darrell Taylor, son of Mr. and Mrs. Aroet Taylor, of Hinckley. Hilmore Are 31 arried In Home Ceremony Mr. and Mrs. Raymond D. Peterson Pet-erson were married Saturday eve-; ning, May 28, at the home of Mr. and Mrs. John L. Peterson in Delta. Bishop E. D. Harris united the couple in a double ring ceremony. The bride is the former Carmen Day, .daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Roy A. Day of Fillmore. Mr. Peterson is a son of Mr. and Mrs. John L. Peterson of Delta. For her wedding the bride chose a eown of white net and lace over satin. Her fingertip veil fell from a caD of seed oearls. She carried a bouquet of roses and carnations. Bridal attendants were Miss Raegene Day from Scipio, Miss La-Nila La-Nila Christensen, Fillmore, and Miss Madeleine Stott, Kanosh. They were frocked in ballerina length formals. Arland Peterson stood as best man for his brother. The couple left for a short honeymoon hon-eymoon and will return to make their home in Delta. A tea was given in honor of the bride Saturday afternoon, and the guests called from 2 o'clock until 6 with best wishes and many lovely love-ly gifts. Rural Route No. 1 Rural Route No. 1 started out from the Delta post office June 1st with Cyril B. Cluff, of Delta, as carrier, pending the examination for carrier which will be held at Oasis the 12th of this month. The postoffice has been equiped with a table and pigeon holes for the carrier and the post offices at Woodrow and Sutherland have been discountinued. Route No. starts out with the carrier serving 100 boxes. New School House For Delta Size Not Fully Decided Upon Probably Eight to Twelve Rooms (This was a lengthy article, giv ing the Board of Education report, and stated ) On the matter of providing Delta with a new school house,, the board Instructed the new secretary and superintendent to obtain fig ures on the entire amount of money which will be available, etc., etc., and if they find that there will be sufficient money for this work, architects will be wri- ten to, and a school house of a substantial nature which will an swer the present needs of Delta will be 'built there. An eight roomed building is be ing talked of and as compared with the present building it will certainly be invited and will be thoroughly appreciated by the Delta district. Beet Sugar Factory For Delta A meeting was held Wednesday night at the Ward Hall in Delta at the call of the Delta Commerc ial Club,, to listen to certain gentle men interested in this section for a suear factorv to take care of the 1916 crop. The committee con sisting of Messrs. Copening, Steele and Law, was appointed to show the visitors over the country and a call made for a big mass meeting mee-ting for all the surrounding country, coun-try, to be held in the Ward Hall at Delta at 2 p. m. Saturday June 5th. Farmers should avail them selves of this opportunity and be there in force. Verdict of Self Defense The case of the Mexican, Basibo Abrego,, who shot and killed the Jap section boss last winter down below Oasis came up for trial last week in the district court at Fill more. The charge of murder In the first degree was not sustained, the jury returning a verdict of acci dental shooting. The Jap was accidentally shot in a scuffle with the Mexican over a revolver which the Jap had and was attempting to use on the Mexican's partner. $35,000 Feed Yard For Sutherland Chris Larson, of Ephraim, was here the latter part of the week looking over the country. Mr. Larson Lar-son is one of the big sheepmen of Utah and he, with others, has formulated plans whereby they will erect a large sheep feeding yard on the Midland tract VA miles west of Sutherland. The yards these gentlemen plan on erecting will cost in the neighborhood neighbor-hood of $35,000, and it is planned to prepare a large number of sheep at these yards for the market. mar-ket. Mr. and Mrs. Albert Smith and family from Dugway visited over the holiday with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Isaac Losee. Mrs. Colene Harris from Salt Lake City visited with her parents, Sunday, and took home her children, chil-dren, who had been staying the weekend with their grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Frelen Shurtz. Mr. and Mrs. Phil Larsen and family from Washington state visited visi-ted with her mother, Tressa Jenson. While here they had their small son, blessed at church on Sunday. Will Honor Xcwlywcds A wedding reception at Sugarville Sugar-ville ward hall Saturday night, June 4, will honor Mr. and Mrs. Philip Lawrence, whose marriage will take place Friday, June 3, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. The bride is the former Carolyn Boothe, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Calvin Boothe of Sugarville. Mr. Lawrence is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Philip L. Lawrence, of Salt Lake City. The new Mrs. Lawrence is a graduate of Delta High School, and has been employed in Salt Lake City for the past year. A cordial invitation is extended their many friends to attend the reception Saturday night. The young couple will make their home in Salt Lake City after their wedding trip. Is Hostess To Helta Art Club Mrs. Callie Morley entertained Delta Art Club members and guests at dinner and cards at the club meeting Wednesday night. Present were Amelia Cole, Donna Sorenson, Athena Cook, Melba Crafts, Callie Morrison, Nelle Callister,, Cal-lister,, Wanda Beckwith, Alma Petersen, and Violet Snow, club members, and Norma Pearson, Marianne Knox and Nona Chesley, guests. After dinner bridge was played, and score awards were made to Mrs. Beckwith, Mrs. Chesley and Mrs. Morrison. OAK CITY Mae H. Shipley Saturday evening the missionary dance and program for David Fin-linson Fin-linson was held. First a program at the Chapel with Bishop Anderson in charge. Lee Shipley conducting the program which was good and as follows: talks by Burnis Fin- linson, Richard Fmlinson, Bisnop Anderson and Elder Finlinson. Austin Aus-tin Lovell and Monte Nielson sang a duet, als a duet by Mrs. Julia Bliss and Sandra Finlinson and a solo by Gordon Shipley. Sunday evening Ronald Ander son and Ladd Black were the speakers spea-kers at Sacrament services, also a poem by little Betty Rae Wright. Ladd Black and Barbara Anderson sang a duet. Ronald gave his experiences ex-periences the past two years in the service,, especially of his last stay with the army in Austria. A lovely trousseau tea for Miss Johanna Alldredge was given at her home Sunday afternoon. Many friends called to see the lovely display and show their love and respect for Johanna. Memorial Day brought many re latives and friends to Oak city over the weekend. The program at the cemetery by the Legion at 11:30 was appreciated lay the crowd at the cemetery. Mr. Workman and his bride are both graduates of Delta High School and have attended college of Southern Utah at Cedar City for the past two years, where they were active in student affairs. Show Films At Fine Arts Club Marjorie Gardner and Orvetta Nickle entertained the Fine Arts Club Monday evening at the City Cafe. Guests for the evening were Mr. and Mrs. Ward Moody and Jean Hemert. Club members present were LaRue Nickle, Lenore Gardner, Gard-ner, Rae Huff, Estelle Gardner, Deona Black, Harriet Ellason, Alta Ashby, Mary Moody, Carol Schlap-pi, Schlap-pi, Harriet Eiiason, Ceo Eiiason, Shirley Christensen,, Marjorie Card ner, Orvetta Nickle and Evelyn Robison, program chairman. After dinner was served Mr. and Mrs. Moody took the group on a tour of Mexico via motion pictures. A very enjoyable evening was spent in watching the films and hearing a discussion of the tour that Mr. and Mrs. Moody went on during the past winter. Ilarrel Alfreds On Way Homo SjSgt. Dnrrel T. Allred is now Mr. Allred, since his discharge from the Air Force May 27, at Lackland AFB San Antonio, Texas. He has been stationed at Lackland for 4 years as an instructor. He and his wife, the former Birdie Lou Hilton, and their children, chil-dren, LeAnne and Mike, are now on their way home, after a trip to Monterey, Mexico, El Paso Texas, and Carlsbad Caverns. Expecting their arrival next week are their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas B. Allred, Deseret, and Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Hilton at Hinckley. They will live in Hinckley this summer and in the fall plan to go to Provo where Darrel will enroll at the BYU. Don Bunker, son of Mr. and Mrs. Lamond Bunker, left Wednesday of the past week for California, where he will spend a month working wor-king with bees.
