Here, sailor accompanies USO hostess to turkey farm in Magnarhusetts, area where fiMt American Thanksgiving was held. USO is financed by United Defense Fund through Community Chest and United fund drives. County Agent Column Farmers who have not yet check ed their tractors and equipment and given them a complete ser vice should do the job immedi ately. Although it Is probably too late now for major repairs, every farmer should Inspect his machinery mach-inery before going Into the fields. The tractor air clearer should be completely cleaned, the front wheel bearings should be packed, and the cooling system should be checked for leaks. It would be a good idea to flush the radiator with approved radiator cleaner. The spark plugs and the balr ance of the ignition system should be checked and serviced. It is also wise to check the carburetor carbur-etor adjustment; much fuel is wasted annually because of Improper Im-proper adjustment. The equipment should also be checked for safety conditions. All shields should be in place and securely fastened. The tractor seat should be checked to make sure that it will hold up through another an-other season. The operator's platform plat-form should be cleaned off and made free from grease and other accumulating materals; dirty platforms plat-forms cause many accidents. A farmer can save himself much time and money by performing these easy-to-do services. He can find what needs to be done by checking the operator's manual his dealer gave him when the equipment was bought.' These man uals tell in complete detail how to perform these operations and the interval of time in which they should be done.
