FFC Lovell became acquainted with his bride when he was serving serv-ing in the Canadian LDS mission field. He is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Owen Lovell, of Oak City. He and his bride will return soon to Fort Lewis, Washington, and from there he will leave for duty In the far east. Mr. and Mrs. Eldon Poulsen have moved into the Lee Boothe home, and will live there for the time being. Mrs. Karl Jefferies has moved home with her parents, Mr .and Mrs. Arch Poulson while Karl is in the service. Mr. and Mrs. Arch Poulsen made a trip to Salt Lake City, where Mrs. Poulsen had an operation for sinus. Sunday night the program was given by the Relief Society, president presi-dent Stella Shurtz had the program pro-gram in charge. A lovely program was given to a large crowd, sister Allred from Hinckley was the stake visitor with Mr. Allred accompanying accomp-anying her. The Relief Society supper was held Monday night, a small crowd attended, but as usual a good time was had by all In attendance. The program was given by Faye Dark, a piano selection by Willis Morrison, a song by Inga May, and Crant Memmott. A reading by Kathy Sheeny and a song by Mar-low Mar-low Sagers. Mrs. Zephyr Steele had visitors this week, with arrival of her son Alton Steele and his wife, from Provo, for Thursday, her daughter Mrs. Flara Brown, from Billings, Mont., Saturday, and another son, Hermon Steele, and his wife, from Salt Lake City, on Sunday. Mrs. Brown is staying with her mother for a visit of several weeks. Leo and Lola Ejrraston returned Sunday to their home in Delta, with their new son, bom March 3, at Payson hospital. Morris, son of Mr. and Mrs. Wesley Morris, of Hinckley, will exchange wedding vows Saturday. March 13. The ceremony will be performed at 7 o'clock Saturday evening in Hinckley ward, by Harold Morris, in the presence of the immediate families, and close friends. Delta High School XEWS FFA SPEECH CONTEST On March 9, a speech contest was held here in the Delta high School. It started at 1:00 P. M. with Monte Palmer conducting. Three speeches were then given: Larry Jeffery representing Delta, LeGrande Kimball representing Millard, and the winner, Lynn Forn sworth, representing Beaver. At 1:55 P.M. the parliamentary proceedure contest was held. The Millard High team won. They are as follows: President Fred Da vies, vice president, Johnny Peterson; Treasurer, LeGrande Kimball; Reporter, Re-porter, Lynn McArthur; and secretary, sec-retary, Ralph Day. The judges were Eldon Eliason, Eldon Hurst, and Dana R. Pratt. The foundation and scholarship judges were Tharol aLrson, Rulon Anderson and Clifford Merrill. The winners of this contest will represent this area in the State FFA meet on March 25, 26. and 27 in the Newhouse Hotel In Salt Lake City. Leah Church DANCE I I 1 ! I Monday at 12:30 sweet music started floating out of the DHS gym and into the halls. The victory vic-tory social was enjoyed by all who danced. If more of the students would come out to the socials we would have a lot more fun. So boys, bring your girls out of the corners and come and dance and try to make each social one to remember. There are plenty of girls in the senior high without with-out waiting for the Jr. High girls. If we make a good showing In our next social the teachers might let us have some dances on schol time. How about it students of the DHS? CARD OF THANKS 1 wish to express my deep appreciation app-reciation of the friendship and kindnesses that were extended to my brother, Emory W. John, during dur-ing the recent illness that preceded pre-ceded his death, and I am thankful thank-ful to the friends and neighbors who assisted with his funeral services ser-vices and helped in many ways. A group of members and some stake officers made a tour around Hinckley and Delta during the week to visit fireplaces and get ideas on design and construction.
