Show Are Honored At Hinckley A reception honoring Mr. and Mrs. Max L, Christensen, whose marriage was solemnized June 1 in the Salt Lake L.D.S. Temple, was held Saturday, June 13, from S:30 to 12 p.m. at the Hinckley gymnasium. The bride is the former Miss Irene Lewis, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lee Wilson, of Hinckley. Mr. Christensen is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Alma Christensen, of Delta. In the receiving line were the newlywed couple and their parents, par-ents, and members of the bridal party. Mrs. Kathryn Manis was matron of honor, and bridesmaids were Mrs. Geraldine Allred, Miss Mae Jean Petersen, and Miss Car-ma Car-ma Wright. Wayne C. Christensen stood as best man for his brother. The bride wore a wedding gown of white satin, with net over-skirt. over-skirt. There were insets of lace with a pointed sleeved jacket made of matching lace wth a row of tiny buttons. Her fingertip veil was of net and matching lace, with a heart-shaped crown made of pearls and small beads. Her bouquet was of yellow roses and lilies of the valley, surrounding surround-ing an orchid. Bridesmaids were dressed in pastel formals and each held a bouquet of carnations and roses. Summer flowers formed a background back-ground for the bridal party. Miss Dorothy Stephensen was in charge of the guest book. Dancing was to music by Bud's Band, and refreshments re-freshments were served throughout through-out the evening. A three-tiered wedding cake beautifully decorated decorat-ed was the centerpiece on the gift table. Blaine Wilson, brother of the bride, was master of ceremonies for the program. Ladd R. Cropper sang "0 Promis Me", accompanied by M.rs Cropper. Mrs. Dolpha Bishop Bish-op gave a reading, "The Bride's Prayer". Mrs. Lorna Bunker played play-ed a xylophone solo, and the trio, of Kay Moody, Virginia Rose, and Bonnie Riding sang," Temple by the River". Harold Snow and David Seeg-miller Seeg-miller played a trumpet duet, "Indian Love Call". Talmage Chris tensen sang "I Love You Truly". The ;bride and groom made short talks. The young couple received many best wishes and gifts for the new home they will make n Hinckley. llvHianjie Vows ; 1-1! Square Dance In Home Wedding roBsp Organized Mr. and Mrs. Fera Little were in Salt Lake City last week for June MIA Conference and attended the Dance Festival, presented by Mutual Mut-ual groups from for and near. Mr. and Mrs. Glen Rawlinson, stake dance directors, directed dancers from Deseret stake. Wedding bells rang this week for Marilyn Stanworth, the daughter daugh-ter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph E. Stan-worth Stan-worth of Oasis, and DeLoy Stewart a son of Mr. and Mrs. Angus Stewart Stew-art of Meadow. The double ring ceremony was preformed Saturday June 13, at 6:00 o'clock in the evening at the home of the bride's parents, before be-fore members of both families. Bishop Cecil Warner ( uncle of the groom) performed the ceremony. cere-mony. Standing with the young couple were their parents and bridal party, Margaret, sister of the bride, as maid of honor, Myrna Peterson, a cousin, as bridesmaid, Keith Stanworth brother of the bride stood as best man. The home was beautifully decorated decor-ated with summer flowers. The bride was lovely in a white taffite, net and lace wedding gown, fashioned fash-ioned with a lace top and long full skirt, with overskirt of net and lace. Her finger-tip veil of net. fell from a pleated crown of lace. Her bouquet was of red roses and white carnations. Immediately following the ceremony cere-mony the young couple were hon- j ored at a wedding dinner. The! table was beautifully decorated with a four-tiered wedding cake and candles. Mrs. Claire Petersen and Mrs. Lilian Roundy served the dinner. Those who came from out of the town for the wedding were De Loy's grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Warner, also a aunt, Mrs. Doris Smith, Mrs Merodean Anderson, And-erson, and Mrs. Ruth Johnson, cousins cou-sins of the bride, all of Salt Lake. After dinner the young couple left for a short honeymoon. Saturday, June 27th the young couple will be honored at a dance and reception in the Oasis ward Chapel. Their many friends and relatives are cordially invited to attend. The new Mr. and Mrs. DeLoy Stewart are making their home in Oasis. The Lynndyl-Leamington 4-H group held square dancing Mcn- day night in Lynndyl ward hall. ; We elected our officers as follows: I'res. Annette Smith, vice pies, Bobby Vest, Sec. Inez Nielson, reporter, JoAnn Brad field. Mr. and Mrs. Burton Hanson, and Mr. and Mrs. Lee Shipley are our leaders. We will hold our next meeting on Friday June 26, in Leamington, at 8:30 p.m. We will have it in Leamington one time and then in Lynndyl the next. We wist to invite any teen-agers who are interested from these two towns to come and join our 'fun. We will really have some good times. Turner and to attend at-tend the wedding reception last week of their sister, Helen and Bill Starley, were Nellie Stanworth Stan-worth and two boys, from Pinole, Cal., Ray Turner from Porterville, Cal., Evelyn Snow and two boys from St. George, and Ruby Turner from Salt Lake City. Funeral services for Dell Gardner, Gard-ner, a Delta resident years ago, were held last Thursday in Santa Monica, Cal. He was a brother of E. Eugene Gardner, of Delta. The retiring officers were Bruce Lovell, Phil Robinson, Ed Stewart and Alden Nielson. see. Sixteen girls and leaders from Oak City participated in the Dance Festival at Salt Lake last week. Their leaders have had much work and patience learning this dance, but have enjoyed the lovely time at Salt Lake. The leaders are Emily Justesen, Maxine Finlinson, and Irene Olson. Orpha Anderson remained in Salt Lake for a visit with her relations re-lations there. Margene Anderson, LaRue Lovell and Margaret Sheriff are working in Salt Lake this summer. Mrs. Laurel Anderson Prisby and little son are visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs. George Anderson and other relations in Oak City. Mrs. Amy Faust and Mrs. Ella Hoover from Salt Lake spent a few days in Oak City. Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd jOlson and children from Brigham City, spent the weekend in Oak City. They attended the Jacpbson reunion. William Jacobson returned to Brig-ham Brig-ham City for a visit. . Mr. and Mrs. Jay Lyman and children spent several days in Oak City from their home at California. Miss Amelia Dean and Miss Shirley Shir-ley Paice spent last week visiting here from Beaver. Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Olson took them to Beaver Sunday. A3C Brent Lovell, son of Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Lovell arrived home Monday from his Air Force Base at Porto Rico. He flew to Hill Field AFB at Ogden. He will be home about three weeks. Mr. Leon Alldredge left Monday for Denver, Colo., where he will attend school. Primary Preparation meeting was held Monday evening at the home of Mrs. Eldonna Anderson. The lesson les-son was given by Mrs. Maxine Finlinson. La Verne Anderson returned home after spendng a week visiting her sisters at Salt Lake. Maurine Anderson And-erson returned with her to spend the weekend in Oak City. UTAH At the candle light ceremonies Saturday, June 6, Miss Joan Davis and Richard E. Workman were united un-ited in marriage. The couple exchanged ex-changed vows in a double-ring ceremony solemnized by Cecil Warner, War-ner, L.D.S. Bishop at the home of the bride's parents. The bride was attired in tradition al white. The beautiful gown had a fitted bodice of chantilly lace with over-skirt of fnely pleated nylon net over taffeta. Her finger tip veil of illusion fell from a heart shaped crown encrusted with seed pearls. She carried a bouquet of orchids and roses with shower streamers. Attendants to the bride were her two sister, Misses Shirley and Joyce Joy-ce Davis. Mr. Allen R. Schvaneveldt stood as best man with Richard Davis as usher. The bride was given in marriage by her father. Following the marriage the newly-weds newly-weds were honored at a supper party. The new Mrs. Workman Is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Verdon J. Davis of Deseret, Utah. Mr. Workman is the son of Mr. and Mrs. George Mason of Salt Lake City, Utah. A wedding dance in their honor is being planned for Saturday, June 20, in the Deseret ward hall. Their many friends and relatives are cordially invited to attend. I.t. Col J. C. Rollins and Mrs. Rollins visited in Delta during the week with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. L. D. Pace, and members of the family here. They left this week to return to Baltimore, M.D. where Lt. Col Rollins is stationed with the USAF. Mr. and Mrs. Pace accompanied them as far as Salt Lake City. Mr. and Mrs. Roy Ellison, of American Fork, Mr. and Mrs. John Ellison and daughter Naomi, of Provo, and Mr. and Mrs. Vernon A. Jones and daughter LeVenda, from Cedar City, were Delta last week to visit Mr. and Mrs. A. L. Kim-ber, Kim-ber, and attend the wedding reception re-ception of Mr. and Mis. Frank G. Farnsworth. I Pvt. Bryant S. Jones, son of Mr. ! and Mrs. Jefferson Jones, Delta, recently completed a course for medical aidman at the Eta Jima Specialist School in Japan. Private Jones, who entered the Army In October, 1952, received his basic training at Fort Ord, Calif A graduate of Delta High School he attended Brigham Young University. Uni-versity. He was engaged in farming in civilian life. Eta Jima's four-week course for medical aidman includes classroom class-room and field training in the emergency medical treatment that may be required by sick or wounded wound-ed soldiers on the battlefield. Mr and Mrs. Orvil Jeffery left Delta last ' Thursday to drve to Chicage, 111., where they attended attend-ed a national grocers' convention. They plan to-visit the Frigidiare manufacturing plant at Dayton, Ohio, before their return trip. W. Ireland. They were married June 6 in Toledo Tol-edo Ohio They returned to Travis AFB, Cal., where SSgt. Ireland is stationed, and is studyng X-ray in the hospital there. She rode up with Mr. and Mrs. Shelby Nielson and Dr. and Mrs. Carl Russell and returned return-ed with Mr. and Mrs. Grant Nielson. Niel-son. Mr. and Mrs. Dell Bradfield have returned 'from California bringing with them Bessie's two small child ren. Mrs. Opal Lambright has returned re-turned to California to be with her sister while she, underwent an other major operation. Mr. and Mrs. Rich Finlinson drove to Og3en last Thursday to attend a piano recital in which Klee's two nieces, Shirley and Barbara Bar-bara Wangsgarter played an important im-portant part. Shirley returned with them to spend a few days. Janice and Patsy Hanson left Tuesday evening by buss to spena a few days visiting relatives in California. Mr. and Mrs. Sam Roper of Powell, Pow-ell, Wyoming, called for a few minutes visit with Mrs. Dean Harder Har-der last week. Mr. and Mrs. Ben Stephenson returned Saturday from their trip to the Northwest. FIVE FOURS HOLD MEETING The "Five Fours" held their 4-H meeting Monday at Jene Brad-field's. Brad-field's. We showed how to make pies, cakes and cookies. Our cook-ingclass cook-ingclass is very proud of Louise Lev ell. She won an Elgin watch for writing an article. Louise is the only one, and first one in Utah to win a watch. She was one of six in the nation t win one. So we want to congratulate her. Reporter, JoAnn Bradfield Dr. Roland Robins and Mrs. Robins Rob-ins and their two children, visited in Delta last week with their parents, par-ents, Mr. and Mrs. Kenith Robins. They spent the past year in New York, where Dr. Robins wae engaged en-gaged in Cancer research. They were on their way to Las Vegas, New Mexico, to make their home, where Dr. Robins will teach at New Highlands University and con tinue work in cancer research.
