Stephenson Step-henson visited with him Friday to Sunday, with some of the grandchildren, grand-children, and his first greatgrandchild. greatgrand-child. The visitors were Mrs. Lewis Sig-gard Sig-gard and Mr. and Mrs. Norris Larson, Lar-son, from Brigham City, Mr. and Mrs. A. W. Stephenson, and Mrs. Frank Petty and infant daughter, the greatgrandchild, from Cedar City. Mrs. Petty is the former Wilms Wil-ms Siggard, and the baby is named nam-ed Artis. Children from Delta were Mr. and Mrs. Willard Stephenson and Mr. and Mrs. Van Bishop. On Sunday Sun-day the family met for potluck dinner at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Bishop. The Post-Seminary graduate course will not be held again until March, due to school activity interference. Mrs. Elda Wheller drove to Nephi Sunday and brought home her mother, Mrs. Amanda Conk, who had been there for medical care. Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Mayer, of Alta Vista, Kansas, are visiting In Delta with their niece, Mrs. Glen Crawford, and family. They will also visit their brother, George Mayer, a patient at the hospital in Nephi for the past six weeks. They are on their way to California Calif-ornia to visit their daughter. Mr. and Mrs. J. R. Mortensen returned home Thursday from Par-owan, Par-owan, where they visited from Monday and attended the Pioneers' Pion-eers' Birthday celebration that marked 102 years since Parowan was settled. Before going to Parowan Paro-wan Mr. and Mrs Mortensen had spent a week visiting their daughter daugh-ter in Provo and their son in Salt Lake City. Delta Garden Club met Wednesday Wednes-day at the home of Mrs. Verda Little. Mrs. Maurlne Jeffery, president presi-dent for the past year, gave a report re-port of the club's accomplishments in the twelve months. Election of officers for the coming com-ing year was held, and elected were Mrs. Donnetta Hardy, presi-sent; presi-sent; Mrs. Beryl Bennion, vice president, and Mrs. Verda Little secretary. I. II. S. News BY ARLENE OGDEN Follies The annual Follies will be presented pre-sented Wednesday and Thursday nights. Let's be there! ! ! Dances In The Gym We're holding dances in the gym after every league game. So everyone come out and support them. The school orchestra has consented to play for these dances. School Play Wayne Western has been chosen as director of the school play, "Men are Like Street Cars',, Wayne also plays the part of the father in the performance, which will take place in the later part of February. Noon Programs The student government class has organized noon programs to entertain the students during their hour. The program this week is; Monday, basketball game. Tuesday, Tues-day, FHA assembly; Wednesday, show; Thursday, social, and Friday, Fri-day, basketball game. Mr. and Mrs. Rondo A. Christ ensen and Max were home over the weekend visiting with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Alma J. Christensen. Rondo and Max are attending college at the BAC and Mrs. Christ ensen is teaching at the elemen tary school at Cedar City. Abraham PEGGY FRANKLIN ' The Abraham MIA "Gold and Green Ball" will be held Wednesday, Wednes-day, Jan. 28. "Song of the Islands" is the theme and there will be a floor show. Everyone is given a very special Invitation to dance to the music of the Oak City Orchestra Or-chestra under the swaying palm trees. Mrs. Delia Deem and young son, Randy returned home a week ago, after spending a week with her parents in Brigham City. Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Young had their family all down with the flu last week. Mrs. Velma Talbot has also been ill with the flu for several days. Mr. and Mrs. Billy Talbot from Salt Lake City were here visiting over the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Lee Talbot. Mrs. Fred Wilkins visited at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Raligh Franklin Saturday. She has just returned home after spending the past few months in Callao with her daughter, Mrs. George Tripp. After Mutual las Tuesday evening eve-ning the Scouts had a birthday party for Merrill Peterson at the home of their leader, Sherman Tol bert Mrs. Gladys Tolbert and daughter, daugh-ter, Wanda Lee, made a trip to Provo to see her nephew, the small son of Mr. and Mrs. Louis Edwards. Ed-wards. The boy had broken his nose. Mr. and Mrs. Doyle Franklin from Kanab visited over the weekend week-end with Mr. and Mrs. Raleigh Franklin and family. In the basketball game at Fillmore Fill-more last week Bob Blanch collided col-lided with another player and bit his tongue half In two. It made it a little inconvient to talk for a day or so, but otherwise it is heel ing fine. LaVoy Tolbert and Jerry Blanch made a trip to Nephi Sunday to go skiing with some friends there. Alva Young spent four days in Provo and Salt Lake City on business. I!. II. S. News MARGENE HILTON The Pep Club has their new outfits out-fits ready to start elague play. The dress is a white tailored one with Maroon trnmmiigs, and HHS emblem on the shoulder. The shoes are maroon with a little white trim. This year we have had marching march-ing practices at noon every Tuesday Tues-day and Thursday. We hope this will improve our marching and make our ciub one of the snap-pist. snap-pist. A victory social was held in honor hon-or of the team Monday. Each mem ber on the team said a few words about their hopes as to the coming com-ing season. A dance by records was enjoyed by the students after the talks. Mr. and Mrs. Golden H. Black and daughter, Loa Belle, spent Friday and Saturday in Salt Lake City and attended the GE TV showing. Members of the HHS baksetball team and their partners met at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Gus Taylor Tay-lor for a surprise birthday party for their son, Bob. He received many nice gifts' and a very good luncheon was served to the group of 13 young people. Mrs. Erma Peterson and son, Warren, made a trip up north last week and while they were gone Shirlene Peterson fell and cut her leg. She had to have ten stitches taken in it. Sunday a'fternoon a group of girls had a surprise birthday party par-ty for their friend, Lorayne Peterson. Peter-son. They made candy and played games and each presented Lor ayne with a lovely gift. Mr. and Mrs. Raleigh Franklin were in Provo and Salt Lake City on business Friday. Mr. and Mrs. Stewart Taylor and I their family presented a good pro gram in church Sunday evening. Mr. Cleone Talbot has had his call to go to the Far East and Mrs. Jenkins was going to Okinawa to join her husband. The foilowine members of the family were present: Mr. and Mrs. Gene Bishop, and family, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Skeem and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Reed Talbot and Georee from Oak City. Mrs. Clara Talbot, also from Oak City, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Skeem from Uasis, Mr. and Mrs. Basil Talbot from Spanish Fork, Mr. and Mrs. Lee Talbot, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Peterson Peter-son and Mrs. Dorothy Thompson of Abraham. A lovely time was enjoyed by all. We all with Cle one Godspeed. Mr. and Mrs. Rodney Wright re cently recently received a phone call from their son, Robert Wnght, who is in the service, that he was being shipped overseas to Japan. Robert also told his folks he had seen Celone Talbot and that they would be sailing together on the same ship. He expects the ship to take from 12 to 21 days. Mr. and Mrs. Rodney Wright spent Friday in Salt Lake City getting Sunday school supplies. While thev were uo there they visited Mrs. Schena. They reported the progress sh has made is wonderful won-derful and that Mr. and Mrs. Schena both seemed pleased and happy. Her birthday is January and we hope people will remember her on that day. Miss SDither spent the weekend in Sandy visiting with her folks. Mrs. Myrtis Smith of Salt Lake City is visiting here with Mrs. Beth Mecham. Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Mecham and family, Mr. and Mrs. Carlos Anderson, Mrs. Myrtis Smith and Mr. and Mrs. Otto Tullis had a very enjoyable home evening last week. At the lat Conference Mr. Kim ball urged everyone to have home evenines and get to know eacn other. I'm sure if more people in our ward had home evenings the families could "iron out" their problems and have fun while doing do-ing it. Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Bowers have moved here recently from Order-ville Order-ville and are living at Gene Morris' Mor-ris' apartments. Mrs. Bowers is the former Geneil Carpenter. Mr. and Mrs. Milbourne Ship-woth Ship-woth and family are visiting with Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Allred. They recently bought the Plymouth Peterson Pe-terson moter company in Delat and will move there shortly. A new baby daughter has come to its proud parents, Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Palmer. They say she has lots of black hair and blue eyes. Congratulations! Miss Irene Lewis has been visiting visit-ing in Salt Lake City with Mrs. Jim Knight, who reecntly had twins. Mr. and Mrs. Jack Manis and son have moved to Nevada to live 9 - 8 '4 - 13 " - 'x, i , -- r ' - oh a ranch. Mr. Manis is employed employ-ed there. Blaine Wilson is in Payson staying stay-ing with his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. George D. Wilson while working work-ing there. Mrs. Nephi R. Stewart has been visiting in St. George with Mr. and Mrs. Gale Stewart. Mrs. Gale Stewart had a baby boy, and Mrs. Nephi Stewart has gone to help them and see the new baby, literary Club was held at Mrs. Ivy Allred's last week. A book called "Trees' was reviewed by Mrs. Reva Talbot. Maxine Reeve played an organ solo, remarks were made by Hugh Hilton and Lula Hilton sang "The Lord's Prayer." After these numbers the remainder of the time was turned over to Elder Stanley Dewsnup, who talked on Gospel Principles, also sang a solo It was a wonderful meeting and was in compliance with Spencer Kimball's talk at Conference, in which he urged us to talk about our gospel and learn its principles in Sacrament meetings. Mrs. Emma Hunsaker, and son Leon spent Thursday in Salt Lake City.
