Local Items City Garden Tour Reveals Beauty Everywhere With nature putting on her loveliest dress after the abundant Thursday nlcht rains, the Gar den club tour Friday night was highly successful. Thirty mem bers of the. club ana interested friends loined in the tour which proved highly Informative as well as entertaining. The tour began in the beautiful gardens of Elden J. Miller, where the group assembled. The beautifully landscaped grounds of M. S. Lott of Lehi were next on the lntinerary. Here Mr. Lott, a garden enthus iast of years standing, conducted the visitors about his place. One catches a glimpse of the beauty of the private garden with the approach to the house where colorful border planting extends along the curb. The group then returned to the Noel O. Knight place on King street, in American Fork. Here a garden and landscaping have been skillfully combined on a lot of irregular shape with credit able results. In a remarkably small area are fruit trees, berry bushes, vegetable rows and well kept beds of flowers and shrubs. To the rear are two beautiful trees, a weeping willow and silver leaf maple in an expanse of lawn enclosed with tall shrubs and vines, making an ideal outdoor living room. Mr. Knight credits his wife with the landscaping scheme, supplying, he modestly admits, the necessary "elbow grease". Around the circular fireplace of the C. A. Grant place the group made their last stop. Here watermelon was served by the committee. A short business meeting was held at which Mrs Lila O. Hansen, chairman of the flower show to be held in con junction with Steel Day, talked on items concerning the show. Mr. and Mrs. A. L. Earl and son Dennis flew with the Provo Flying club Sunday to Hailey, Idaho. From there they went by bus to Ketchum and Sun Valley which they toured, and then re turned home by plane in the evening. - Mrs. Alfred Adams, Ogden, visited here Monday with daughter, Mrs. Rex Dimick. her (2omf2cJzj2 the iIcmL.. 1qj2 why v. :':' ' V j' ORE PEOPLE B y THAI ANY I f 1 V.
