Civil Service Serv-ice Commission at semi-monthly intervals showing the skilled workers work-ers needed by Government agencies for National Defense positions. This list, which contains concise information about those positions for which qualified applicants have been especially difficult to locate, carries the titles of over 50 different positions, and is eagerly consulted at post offices and local offices of the U. S. Employment Service by machinists, ma-chinists, toolmakers, and other skilled skill-ed workers who want to go to work for Uncle Sam. The latest issue of this "United States Civil Service Commission Consolidated List" as it is officially and completely called shows that shore establishments of the Navy, and arsenals, armories, and air depots de-pots of the War Department need workers for such varied employments employ-ments as aircraft engine test operators, opera-tors, instrument makers, lens grinders, grind-ers, gage makers, gage checkers, aircraft air-craft electricians, parachute mechanics, me-chanics, ordnancemen, procurement inspectors, harness-machine operators, opera-tors, ironworkers, tool-grinding ma- freedom and individual salvation to which the Master himself committed all believers in the Christian faith almost two thousand years ago. In the fulfillment of that obligation we must not and we will not falter." Referring to the aggressive forces in action today throughout the world, the Directors pointed out that "history plainly teaches that when a nation chooses to ignore God and to make matter the foundation stone of its government, such nation commits com-mits its cause to failure, and at the same time provides the means for its ultimate defeat and undoing." The Directors also announced the election of John Randall Dunn of Boston and Centerville, Mass., as President of The Mother Church for the ensuing year. The chief duty of the President is to preside at the Annual Meeting. The new President has served this movement many years in a large variety of positions including First Reader of The Mother Church and as a Christian Science lecturer, during dur-ing which he carried the message of Christian Science into all parts of the world. The incoming President accentuat ed the theme of spiritual 'progress with the reassuring statement that "the present mighty world upheaval does not portend the breaking up of Christian civilization or the plunging plung-ing of humanity into chaotic darkness. dark-ness. , He viewed the present conflict in the light of a world house-cleaning, during which individual and nation al sin, tyranny, greed, self-will, and lust for power are being brought to the surface of world thinking, ripe for destruction. And these ills, rather than world civilization, are the things that will be destroyed. your food bill in half by using more Milk, the wholesome whole-some food.
