I. Goodwin in charge. A quartet consisting of Mrs. Edith Evans, Mrs. Sedie Kittinger, LeRoy Davis and Armond Webb, accompanied accom-panied by Miss Oleve Kittinger. sanr the opening song "When First The Glorious Light Of Truth." ResoluTions of Rspect from the Service Ser-vice Star ladies were read by 'Mrs. George Goates. The first speaker was W. F. Gurney. Following his talk a vocal duet "Rock of Ages" was sung by LeRoy Davis and Mrs. Edith Evans. Bishop Lees of West Jordan, and A. B. Anderson were the next speakers. The quartet then sang "A Perfect Day" and "Guide Me To Thee." Heber C. Webb pronounced pro-nounced the benediction. Interment was In the City cemetery ceme-tery where A. R. Whereas, it has pleased our Heavenly father to call to himself our worthy and esteemed friend and co-worker Amanda " Sabey. Whereas, we the members of the Service Star Legion feel it a duty to express our sincere sympathy tc- the berereaved family of our dear sister, in w'hose illness and death, they have lost a loving mother, leaving a va cancy therein. Resolved, that with deep sympathy for the afflicted family and relatives we express our earnest and sincere hopes that time will sooth the pain of such a bereavement. Old People Royally Entertained The Lehi Old Folk's winter oWg held last Thursday was a big success from start to finish, and from the ver. bal expressions of many of the old people it was pronounced the best party ever held. Tfley were enusr tained with a variety of amusements from morning until 12 (midnight), interesting and spicy mixed program in the morning; a delicious hot dinner at noon, .picture and dancing in the afternoon, and in the evening a cold luncheon was served, after which another short program and dancing were enjoyed. Three hundred guests were present. The committee wishes to take this means of thanking the public for their support in helping to put over this deserving and worthy annual affair. Car Owners Must Hurry Automobile owners are urged by Sheriff J. D. Boyd to procure their 1928 license plates as soon as possible pos-sible and not wait until the last day which is March 1. The sheriff points out that inasmuch inas-much as the state already ha granted grant-ed three months leeway in which to procure license plates, the cities and counties of the state will nbt allow any additional time, and persons aiding aid-ing cars after March .1 without license plates, irrespective of whether wheth-er they have sent for them, will be subject to arrest and prosecution. Jones Funeral services over the remains of Margaret Jones, who died here Tuesday, January 24th, were held in the Third ward chapel Sunday afternoon. after-noon. Bishop William Hadfield was in charge. A vocal solo "My Task" sung by Miss Hamilton, of Salt Lake, was the opening song. The opening prayer was offered by John Hutchings. Walter Hutchings then sang a vocal solo 'One Fleeting Hour," after which resolutions of respect re-spect from the Third ward Relief Society, were read by Mrs. Sarah Johnson. Resolutions of respect from the Service Star ladies were also read by Mrs. Louisa Goates. Mrs. Fern Johnson rendered a vocal solo "Face To Face" and Bishop Iladfl-eld read the biographical sketch. The speakers were Henry Lewis,1 'Mr. Joseph McKnight and President A. J. Evans. "When The Angles Have Lifted The Veil" was sung by Bishop Hadfield. The closing song "On Sweetly Solemn Thought" was rendered by Mis3 , Ernest Hamilton, and the benediction was pronounced by William Wing. The grave in the City cemetery was dedicated by W. W. Dickerson, and Mrs. Hamilton sang at the grave side "O Dry Those Tears." Biography of Margaret Jones Margaret Williams Jones was born December 11th, 1857, at Dowlos, Glamorgan Shire, South Wales. Her father, mother, three sister and one brother all died before Margaret was five years of age, she being left alone. She was taken into the home of John and Mary Walters, at this tender age and many of her friends called her by the name of waiters. She was baptized when nine years of age by Nathan Thee. She emigrated to Utah in 1868, in company with hei adopted mother, settling in Lehi foi about one year, then moving to Adamsville, Beaver Connty. She worked work-ed for her schooling and lived foi teome time with Patriarch watmne Reese. On February 3, 1872 she was united in marriage to John E. Jones. The following November they were married in Saint George temple. She held offices in the Relief Societies of Adamsville. and Frisco Wards. In 1907 they moved again to Lehi where she resided until her death, Tuesaay January 24. The following children survive her: John Thomas, Kathern, Margaret, Edith, Evan J-, David and Lenore. ThrAA havine nroceeded her to the Great Beyond. Also twenty-eight grandchildren and one great-grand Margaret Jones was a devoted ana loving wife and mother, and she was a fine friend to all. She departed this life full of faith and hope of a glorious resurrection. RESOLUTIONS OF RESPECT Lehi, Utah, Jan. 29, 1928. Louise Goates, Chairman. o National Guard Wins From Spanish Fork The newly organized Lehi National Guard basketball club won their opening game Saturday when they met the Spanish Fork guard team there. The final Bcore was 18 to 9 in favor of the locals. The Spanish Fork club are strengthening for a return game here Saturday, February 11th. A dance will also be given in connecUon with the game. The line-up for Lehi was V. Smith and L. Smith forwards; W. Bone, center; St Jeor and Bishop guards. At a general committee meeting held at the Second ward chapl Monday Mon-day evening, arrangements were completed com-pleted for the second annual Gold and Green ball to be hold at the Smuin Academy, Friday, February 3. Very gratifying reports of the advance ad-vance sale of tickets were turned in. Committees in charge of other features fea-tures of the party had equally favorable favor-able reports to give. The pine bough and gold paper decorations which are being so lavishly used promise to be an unusual un-usual feature of the occasion. From a daintily trimmed booth, punch and wafer refreshments will be served. A huge electric eign bearing the M. I. A. insignis will be placed at the head of the hall to greet the guests as they enter. A reception committee com-mittee will be stationed at the entrance en-trance to make sure that each' one receives a hearty welcome and to insure during the dance that everyone every-one is enjoying himself. Unexcelled music; a smooth, dusk less floor; reduced prices; a warm welcome; and a most congenial crowd, all will combine to make the Second Annual M. I. A. Gold and Green Ball an occasion long to be remembered. Lehi Poultry Day February 16th The annual Lehi Poultry day will be held Thursday, ' February 16th. Plans are underway to make the affair af-fair much larger and better than the one of last year which proved such a big success. A complete program will be outlined in next week's issue of this paper.
