Show Why Not More Dairy Cows In Utah County " Br W. H. Nielsen. On a recent rislt thru the State of Idaho, the writer was very nmch Impressed Im-pressed with the magnitude of dairy ing in certain sections ot that state. In the Caldwell Section, where the Dairyman's Co-operative of the Boise Valley, Is located, a very unusual growth has taken place. Commencing operation in May 1925 with, 347 numbers, the plant produc ed 32,916 pounds of butter at a manufacturing cent of .04c per pound butter. In May of 1926, they manu. fatuxed 134,863 pounds butter at a cost of .027c per pound, while the membership has grown to 797. In May of 1927, the butter output amounted to 200,000 pounds butter with a manufacturing cost of .022c per pound as the membership was 1,300. This was all accomplished in 25 months. The Farmers Co-operative Creamery Cream-ery of Payettei Valley shows the following fol-lowing desirable , growth: Butter Manufactured by years from 1916 to 1924 Inclusive: , May 1916,-28,000 pounds , May 191729,904 pounds May 191846,999 pounds , May 191964,150 pounds ; May 192069,060 pounds May 1921 87,621 pounds May 1922116,683 pounds ; May 1924181,987 pounds The writer was very much Impressed Im-pressed with this wonderful growth In dairying, and immediately began to compare tha Idaho sections mentioned men-tioned with our own Utah County. He finds that Utah County climate is fully, if not more favorable tor the dairyman, that the grain and hay can be grown fully as well In Utah County, Coun-ty, and that we have the same outlet out-let for the finished product These general conditions hold out a bright prospect for the future' of dairying In Utah County, The worm has already al-ready began to turn, which was fully demonstrated by the wonderful showing of dairy cows at the last Utah County livestock Show held at Spanish Fork. What w now need Is a few more sections to get Inter, csted in dairy cows. Local Items Sterling Evans had his tonsils re moved at Dr. Richards office Monday. Mr. F. A.
