Softball tallies four By Dean Von Memmott Sports Correspondent The Pleasant Grove soft-ball soft-ball team scored four straight wins over non-region non-region opponents last week. At home March 15, the Vikings defeated Spring-yille Spring-yille 9-6. At Delta March 16, pleasant Grove outlasted the Rabbits 10-9. In a March 17 home game, the Vikings shut out Timpview 14-0. Pleasant Grove then blanked the Union Cougars 10-0 in Roosevelt March 18. Of the win over the Red Devils, Viking coach Jeff Wilson said, "We came out hitting well." I' Viking Allyce Wilson is safe at Free seminars teach Utah walleye fishing for locations in area To feed the growing interest of walleye fishing in this area, the Rocky Mountain Anglers Fishing Club is teaming up with the Division of Wildlife Resources and Utah State Parks to teach hundreds of Utah anglers about the ways of Utah's wily walleye at, free seminars in Provo and Salt Lake City. Anglers are welcome to join the first presentation March 30 at Utah Lake State Park, located at 4400 W. Center St. (three miles west from the 1-15 Center St. exit) from 7-9 p.m. A final meeting awaits April 6 from 7-9 p.m. at the Department of Natural Resources auditorium, located at 1594 W. North Temple in Salt Lake City The 13th annual Utah Walleye Seminar features top walleye anglers from Rocky Mountain Anglers and the DWR who regularly fish for walleye in Utah and surrounding states. Anglers iU learn about the best times of the year to catch walleye and hot lures and techniques, including trolling and live bait. Ray Schelble of Rocky Mountain Anglers said, "We nave been doing this every IOr ninrp than a aecade. These are all local People who fish and man age local waters, including starvation, Utah Lake, Millard Bay, Lake Powell and Yuba. In the bottom of the third, Francom singled into left, then raced around the diamond to home plate during dur-ing an error. The Red Devils picked up a fourth-inning run on an infield error, but the Vikings didn't let Springville move any closer. On two outs in the bottomof the fourth, Burton scored a run on an error. Taking over pitching duties in the fifth's top half, Janae Mortensen held the Red Devils scoreless through the rest of the game. Allyce Wilson scored an insurance run on an error. In the Delta game, McKell McK-ell Wilson clubbed a double for the only Viking extra-base extra-base hit for the day. The Vikings secured a 7-1 lead in the first 3 12 innings. The Rabbits narrowed the lead to 3-7 in the fourth inning. The Vikings grabbed three sixth-inning runs. Delta answered with a six-run six-run rally in the bottom of the seventh. Against Timpview, the Vikings grabbed a 4-0 lead in the first inning and never looked back.
