The keys to the car were not found and police are still examining the car for evidence, Edwards said. "We believe the shooter likely stole the keys to Aguilar's car since the keys were not located at the :scene of the ; crime," Z'Edwards said. In an attempted to further fur-ther the investigation, detectives carried out a search warrant Saturday on Aguilar's apartment, which she was sharing with Montoya, and are following up possible leads. By Tuesday, investigators were looking into some additional information received the case Edwards said. He said, "Sometimes serious seri-ous crimes can be solved quickly, but more often than not, it's going to take time and effort, time and hard work, time and some good breaks." Edwards also emphasized empha-sized residents should not be concerned about further, similar incidents. "Hopefully the message was given that we don't have some Son of Sam-type killer walking the streets of Orem looking for new victims vic-tims and that Orem is still a great community," Edwards said. Orem police investigators ask anyone with any information infor-mation on the case to call the Orem Department of Public Safety at 229-7256. YARD SALE Continued from front page "Humongous Yard Sale: Furniture, toys, clothes, homemade root beer, tools, books, baked goods, Popsicles." "OREM YARD SALE. Leukemia & Lymphoma Society." "Moving Sale Saturday. High-end furniture, Sony TV, microwave, china, etc. Cash only. No checks." Saturday seems to be the most popular day for yard sales, when many people are off work and have time to shop. And shop, they do! Some people actually make a hobby of attending many yard sales, hoping to find just the right item at a low price. Antiques of all varieties are often sold at lawn sales, and the stories of how, one buyer or another, anoth-er, found a valuable antique and bought it for a song, are replete in the lexicon lex-icon of yard sales lore. Multi-family yard sales are becoming more popular popu-lar in Orem, as two or more families pool their used merchandise and market it in joint ventures. ven-tures. Such an endeavor requires a large amount of space and several people to manage the sale and make a proper accounting of the receipts. Recently, Orem High School students held a parking lot sale at the school to raise money for school activities. The Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts and other such organizations are often seen joining together to raise money for their activities. Sometimes, homeowners homeown-ers wanting to sell mostly used clothing in their yard sales, simply arrange the items of clothing on their front lawns, making a colorful col-orful scene and attractive invitation to buy. Yard sales, however, are not always used to market surplus quantities of merchandise. mer-chandise. Some home owners, wanting to dispose of their items quickly, without regard to its value, simply place their items on their lawn, along with a sign that says: FREE. HELP YOURSELF. YOUR-SELF. Whatever the approach and whatever the merchandise mer-chandise sold, yard sales and garage sales are not unlike earlier times in Orem, when many families grew fruits and vegetables, vegeta-bles, and sold them direct to the public from the fruit stands on their farms.
