The occupants came back early this morning and found the apartment rummaged through. 32003 A man reported that his checkbook was stolen that he inadvertently left in an LDS meeting house at 80 S. 280 E. This is the same church that was broken into over the weekend that I mentioned in Tuesday's update. On Wednesday, a suspect was arrested in Spanish Fork trying to use one of those stolen checks. Naturally, he's going to be a prime suspect in the breakin itself and will be questioned by Orem detectives. detec-tives. A couple of vehicles parked in the area of 1200 N. Geneva Road were broken bro-ken into on Tuesday night. Stereo equipment was stolen. A 53-year-old women, of Spanish Fork, was arrested arrest-ed yesterday afternoon near Center and State Street in Orem as she walked along the side of the road. She was recognized by an Orem detective who knew that she had four active non-bailable warrants out for her arrest for forgery. When she was arrested, she had a stolen checkbook and credit card on her that she had used. 32103 Officer Darrell Bingham went to assist another officer yesterday morning in the area of 1600 S. Main with a man who was being trespassed from a residence in that area. The man told officers his name was Jeremiah Johnson. He looked nothing like Robert Redford and there was no information found on the computer for any Jeremiah Johnson. Officer Bingham arrived and recognized the man as a' 19-year-old man, of Provo. He had a felony warrant out for his arrest. He was taken into custody and booked into the Utah County Jail with the added charged of false information to an officer. A 1998 Pontiac was stolen sometime Wednesday night from the area of 1400 N. 1300 W. Keys were left inside the car overnight, as well as the owner purse. The car was located later in the morning parked at the LDS Meetinghouse parking lot at 1500 N. 1100 W. They purse and its contents were found by a neighbor strewn on along the road and returned to the vehicle owner. $400 was reported missing from the purse. Another witness reported (delayed a couple of hours) that she heard tires screeching and looked out to see two Hispanic males walking away from where they parked the stolen car in the church parking lot. He told the officer who responded that he had heard from some guys talking that Smiths was an easy place to steal from and he thought he'd give it a try. State. He aggravated aggra-vated his circumstance when he kicked the arresting arrest-ing officer as he was being taken out of the car at the Public Safety Building. He was booked into the Utah County Jail. Officer Steve Reece spotted a 26-year-old women, of Orem, on Saturday morning driving in the area the area of 200 S. 200 W. Officer Reece recognized rec-ognized her and knew that she had five warrants out for her arrest, all non-bailable, out of the 4th District Court. Sometime Saturday night or Sunday during the day, a window was broken out of a business window in the area of Center Street and Mountain Way Drive. Once inside the thief stole about $1000 of auto accessories. B ITU AIR, IHS Janet Allred JANET CARDON STEVENSON ALLRED Janet Cardon Stevenson Allred passed her mortal test and returned to her Heavenly Father Monday, March 24th, 2003. She was surrounded by her family. Her family is very proud of her courage and positive posi-tive attitude throughout her struggle with ALS (Lou-Gehrig's (Lou-Gehrig's disease). She was born April 10th, 1948 in Lava Hot Springs, Idaho to Samuel Grant and Nada Stevenson. Her family eventually settled in Orem, Utah where she attended public schools and graduated from Orem High School in 1966. Janet married her high school sweetheart, Art Allred on August 13th, 1971 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Together they settled in American Fork where they worked and raised their four children. Janet worked at the American Fork Hospital for 26 years and made many close friends there as well as in the community. Janet loved life and cheered many people with her bright smile. She led a very active life. She played the piano, dance point, was a cheerleader and played fast pitch Softball. The majority of her spare time was devoted to supporting her family fami-ly in their activities. She was happiest in the bleachers cheering cheer-ing her family on. Janet was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Her family wishes to thank all those who helped support us these last 18 months in many different ways. They are especially espe-cially thankful to the kind care of her dear friend and nurse Brigitte. Janet is survived by her husband hus-band of over 31 years, Art Allred. Her four children, Brandelin (Richard) Spiers, Warner Robins, GA. Derek, Anjelee, and Dane, American Fork, Ut. One granddaughter, Savannah Spiers. Her mother Nada Stevenson, Orem, Ut., five sisters, Diane (Don) Ihler, Grass Valley, Ca., Fay (Gary) Howard, Orem, Ut., Sunny (Jim) Pouquette, Los Altos, Ca., Julie (Doug) Dobson, Orem, Ut., Tammy Shirley, Oakley, Ut. She was preceded in death by her father, Samuel Grant Stevenson. A viewing will be held at the Walker Sanderson Funeral Home 646 E. 800 N. Orem, Utah, Thursday, March 27th, from 6-8 pm. Funeral Services will be held Friday, March 28th at the American Fork 32nd ward chapel 270 N. 900 E. American Fork, Ut., at 11:00 am. A short viewing will be held prior to the service.
